  Hi, My name is David Tejera. I completed a project with FQR at my primary residence about 4.5 years ago (a reroof of a flat roof (approx. $45,000). I currently have a leak in my roof and German and Stella (Owners) will NOT honor the original warranty. They will not even take my calls. I have 6 months left on my 5 year warranty. In addition, I completed another project with FQR at the same residence (less than a year ago) (i.e. a "10 year Silicone Roof Restoration" project (approx. $20,000)). As part of the "10 year Silicone Roof Restoration" FQR provides a 10 year warranty against leaks as long as annual maintenance was performed (for $1,000 per visit, with 3.5% annual increases). Unfortunately, German and Stella (Owners) have also decided to NOT honor our agreement and refuse to perform on the maintenance portion of our "10 year Silicone Roof Restoration" project. They have dropped me as a customer. They will not take my calls on this issue either. For context, when it came time for my annual maintenance visit German and Stella (Owners) changed my pricing with NO prior notification, documentation or supporting evidence (Note: They are contractually required to provide support for the increases). When they finally provided documentation of the price increases, they declined to provide further services. Their reason for declining service - I accused them of a "breach of contract". In conclusion: They are not honoring my original warranty and they are breaking our agreement on the maintenance portion of the more recent "10 year Silicone Roof Restoration" project (and also providing no warranties). What a slap in the face.

  Hi David, I'm sorry you felt compelled to write a one star review, as a small/family owned business we take client feedback seriously. However, we respectfully disagree with your assertion considering that we completed your project on time and without any issues/leaks. As you know, we did NOT design your roof, we simply replaced it with the color you chose. Your chief complaint being that you chose a white metal roof which is under a tree and as such it gets dirty and accumulates leaves. As with anything white, it is understood that it will require more maintenance, especially since you have a large tree. This has nothing to do with our workmanship nor quality of the product, again, it is a lack of proper maintenance, aesthetics and personal choice. We wish you the very best always and hope you can understand that as a small business we cannot please everyone but we certainly stand behind our work and warranties.

  I am writing this review because German Duarte and Florida Quality Roofing are listed as the roofing contractors responsible for replacement of my residential roof back in 2004 (Hurricane Charley) located in Central Florida. At the time, Florida Quality Roofing was a 2-year old company. I purchased the home in 2015. At the time of purchase, multiple major issues were found with the roof. For starters, the roof was 11 years old when we purchased the home. Yes, I do understand the Florida environment and the stresses it puts on an asphalt shingle roof. However, the issues discovered were not related to the normal wear and tear of the shingles. The shingles were actually in good shape. What we found was no flashing where the second story meets the first. We found the ridge vents improperly installed and even floating freely in one case. We found no flashing around the chimney. Poorly installed fascia and soffits (which arguably might not have been them, they might have just reinstalled what was there). We found an enormous 2" bead of caulk running all the way the roof valleys with improperly installed flashing underneath (hence this is probably why there is caulk). Of course this caulk dried out, retracted and left the areas underneath exposed. We found leakage around all vent stacks which had already been repaired when we got the house. There was leakage in multiple positions as easily viewed from inside the attic (due to the inadequate or missing flashing). The chimney had damage due to the lack of flashing. The drip edge was installed improperly. In short, the roof was at an end-of-life stage. Based on our own paid-inspection as well as having several roofers, a handyman and a roof inspector (for the wind mitigation report), all were in unanimous agreement (and none were told what the others had said) that these issues were caused by shortcuts taken during the 2004 installation.   John, We are so sorry about the issues you ran into when buying a house that claimed to have a roof done by our company. We have no record of you being a customer nor were we ever contacted regarding this matter other than this one star review. We can understand that you'd feel compelled to find someone to blame, however, we do not feel responsible for a shingle roof that could have easily been re-done/repaired/re-roofed by another company given the length of time that has passed. For the record, we are never ashamed of our work and our workmanship stands for itself as proven by our 5-star reviews and awards. We kindly ask that you re-think posting one star reviews to small businesses and based on your record you hand out one star reviews freely. You may or may not know this, but it takes a lot of time and effort to provide quality services to our community, something we take great pride in doing. And there are real lives and people behind screens that are affected by your comments. Lastly, unless you've had direct contact with our company, you should not unfairly judge us. We sincerely hope that you will re-consider given the circumstances, German and I (Stella) send good vibes your way.

  I only have great things to say about this roofing company, they’ve been in business for a very long time, I deal straight with the owner when I have a question, they show up, they are dependable, and the work really is quality work.   If you need a new roof, Florida Quality Roofing is the company you want to work with.
