Their installation team damaged two screen panels on our birdcage. We were told someone would come out to repair the panels. A team came out and said they’d have to pick up more materials and come back but they never did. They also damaged our door and never fixed it. They also drove their trucks in the lawn and damaged the grass and said they’d come and fix it. They never came. They’re not answering our calls, answering our text messages, replying to our voicemails …nothing. 2 months later they’re saying the wind did it. : o

Elements Roofing company sold me a "no leak guarantee" warranty extension for a roof they previously installed on a small commercial building. I purchased the warranty since they were familiar with the roof, but I should have first looked into their capabilities. It turns out that either they (1) no longer have roofers who know how to install and repair commercial roofs or (2) no longer have the financial capability to make good on the warranty. After several occurrences of a very major leak, the owner of the company told me that the leak I was having was not covered under the warranty. He charged thousands more for the fix. When this 'fix' did nothing to address the leak, he stopped returning my calls. While the office did return my calls and scheduled roofers to come out to make the repair, no roofers ever arrived for the appointments they scheduled. After months of leaks and dozens of phone calls, I lost confidence in their ability to make this right. I hired a real commercial roofing company to investigate the leak and they easily found and repaired the issue. They found lots of other things on the roof that pointed to Elements Roofing being out of their element when it comes to commercial roofs, including residential roofing components that should never be used for flat commercial roofs. In summary: While their office personnel may be nice, I would not recommend this company for any roofing project more complex than a simple nail pop on a residential house. And if they try to sell you the opportunity to purchase a warranty: don't walk, run!

Ms, Jackson, We are in receipt of your grievance. Elements Roofing prides itself in communication and stands behind its work. Elements Roofing currently has over 15 million sq ft under warranty (that’s 26,000 football fields -or- 340 acres) on thousands of structures in Portland and Seattle. For over 17 years we have worked to become a leader in the Portland market. We have researched the job file and found that 1/2 of this roof was replaced under previous ownership. The other 1/2 was “repaired only” with a limited warranty as it was a repair only. As with any flat roof warranty, these roofs require regular monthly cleaning by ownership. Severally recommendations have been presented in writing to resolve these current issue. We have reached out to you directly attempt to come to an amicable solution with regards to your commercial property. We are still more than willing to work to resolve this matter and look forward to your response. We deeply regret the experience you have had with our firm. Elements Roofing is one of only 2 Gold Star certified applicators in the state of Oregon. We genuinely aim for project perfection on our installations. Which is why there has never been an issues of the installation on the side we fully replaced. With repairs, as mentioned, they do have limitations. It is on Elements to express those limitations and/or omissions to ownership in writing. If we have fallen short of that, we do sincerely apologize. Hope to hear from you soon! Sincerely, Elements Roofing Customer Care Team

Wow. Where do I begin. I don't know if they were drinking, on their cell phone, or just a terrible driver. I'm driving north on I5 near Lake O when I come across a white truck driving erratically. All over the lanes, can't figure out if they want to speed or go 10mph under. Just a mess. I finally get around them, glance over in curiosity as to what would lead someone to drive this way and I get flipped off by the driver. IN A COMPANY TRUCK! Obviously pretty shocked so I return the favor. Then the driver starts flashing his lights frantically and motioning for me to pull over. I'm shocked at this point but certainly curious, so I oblige. Driver pulls in behind me. Continues to flash his lights and aggressively encourages me to jump out and fight him and his two co workers. What kind of business is this who would employ people like this? I've worked in lots of contacting jobs and have many connections. This story will be spread throughout the industry, and to anyone who reads this I would strongly recommended against this company. There are lots of great roofing companies in the metro area, this is not one of them. Not if they're ok with employees such as this. I tried calling the company before posting this to talk to a supervisor and I was put on a ten minute hold. There's your sign.

Dear Travis Wilding (owner of: Modern Hammer Roofing), We have received your review and wish to respond here. Our project manager has completed a 5 point investigation into this complaint, as follows; 1. Complete Review of our 360 degree dash-cam video, 2. Interviewed all employees, 3. Cross checked all recorded call logs of any call made to our main office number for day of incident. (each call and ALL holds into Elements are recorded and stored in our service database) 4. Interviewed 2 witnesses. 5. Reviewed all GPS mapping with time stamps of the company vehicle in question. We have determined the following; Our manager Carlos, who has been an employee of Elements for 13 years, pulled over to assist a broken down truck on the side of the road. *We encourage our drivers to be good samaritans whenever possible.* Our team assisted in jumping the battery of a fellow broken down contractor. They were escorting a slow start of this broken down truck when your white truck began flashing lights and waving gestures at our trusted crew. My team has thoroughly reviewed the HD footage from our 360 dash-cam from this event. You possibly assumed this was slow erratic driving, however the 360 dash-cam video supports our claim. That our company vehicle had on its hazard lights and was assisting another truck. NONE of the dash cam footage supports your version of the incident. We have further received two written statements from witnesses who corroborate this account. We have also reviewed call logs which show one hold from this date which was 8 seconds. We do apologize for the hold, however we service fire and high wind areas and were overburdened with calls at that exact time. Please contact my cell phone directly to get clarity or lend input on this event. If our driver acted in any way other than professional Id like to hear it. We have firm disciplinary actions for any inappropriate behavior by our employees. Elements Roofing (as you may know being a roofing contractor you

Elements was okay. I was very pleased with their interior finish carpenter, but overall they were lacking in some areas of expectation. The job was done quickly, but a bit sloppy. They left my yard a mess with garbage wood, metal and even food and beverage trash I had to clean up. The work itself had a BIG punchlist of corrections to be made. We were told by the office and the project manager that they'd be back to correct several things, but once our check was cashed we never heard from them again.

I was warned about these guys coming in with a low number and submitting a change once the work was started. I thought I read all their scope correctly and was in good shape with a $2200 quote to do maintenance on my cedar roof. However Once the job started they wanted $1700 more to do the ridge cap. Their quote had two pictures of the existing ridge cap in it and no mention of it being excluded nor an add if it needed to be replaced. After complaining they did cut the add in half, but very crumby approach to business. I will never use them again.

We opted to replace our 23-year-old roof before any noticeable leaks and talked to an Elements rep at the Portland Home Show. Bottom line: We have a good-looking roof and a cleaned-up yard. During the process, Elements discovered—and showed us—that nearly all our roof decking (the plywood sheet layer) was warped and needed to be replaced. So, we ended up paying nearly twice as much as originally quoted. (Initial inspections never find this level of “uh oh.” It would have happened with any other roofer.) Things we liked/appreciated: 1) Quick and thorough responses to our questions – especially detailed questions that helped me compare one bid with another; 2) Ease of reaching and communicating with Jessica, the Operations Manager, who worked with us to schedule our job; 3) Quick and courteous responses from Ben, as well as excellent communication between Ben and the work crew; 4) Ben’s final walk-through with us was on time and thorough. To consider: Elements involved multiple team members, which sometimes was great and other times resulted in crossed wires. They had to reschedule our initial inspection, and sadly we didn’t speak the same language as the inspector who arrived on the revised date. (The written report was clear and thorough, though.) All in all, replacing a roof is a stressful act of trust for the homeowner. Elements did a solid job for us.

Well I'm reversing my recommendation for this company. I left a negative review because of a driver of theirs and one of their management got back to me almost immediately and said he was so sorry. Very impressive.

Mr Putnam, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We truly appreciate you taking the time to let us know, as customers often do not report these situations and it gives us the opportunity to address them directly. An internal conversation and corrective action have already taken place with the driver involved. While everyone can have a difficult day, there is never an excuse for unsafe or unprofessional driving while operating one of our company vehicles. Safety is extremely important to us — not only for protecting people, but also for protecting surrounding property and our community as a whole. We sincerely apologize for your experience and appreciate your feedback. An email response has also been sent directly as a follow-up.

More Than a New Roof—A Complete Exterior Restoration This project quickly grew beyond a simple roof replacement. In addition to installing an entirely new roofing system, our team addressed a leaking back deck and repaired damaged trim around a window that had suffered from water intrusion.Stopping the source of the leak is only part of the job. It’s just as important to correct the damage water leaves behind. At Maple St – McVey – South Shore, the finished result includes a new roof, a restored deck, repaired trim, and a home better protected from top to bottom. Thorough work like this helps homeowners move forward with confidence.1 day ago
