When installing our new metal roof most of our plants were damaged . Even so we addressed it to the foreman , they still continued to ignore our concerns how they handle our property. They did give us a$220 discount (wow)One week later , we had a gutter installation company come out to install brand new gutters ( to match our bronze color roof ), only to inform us that they couldn’t do it because the roofers put the peel and stick over the cutters and in top of it sealed it . So now I have white gutters on a brown roof . Contacted the direct metal company and of course they saying that a good gutter company would know how to take them off . Waiting for them to contact me back . Very upset because we paid $ 26000 thinking this company would be very professional, . Hoping they will take care of this problem

Thank you for taking time to leave us a review. As you can see from our other reviews, we strive to provide our customers with a 5 star experience. Unfortunately, it appears we missed that mark with you. I am not certain why a gutter company was not able to assist you with the gutters, as they are only connected to the roof via the eaves and drip edge. There should be access to install the gutters, so long as there is drip edge, and the wood on the eaves are solid. Someone from the office will be in touch with you to come out and address your concerns.

Nothing but problems from day one when they didn’t tarp the rear yard, still finding nails, roof leak, now I have to prove preexisting conditions of my crawl space. I can’t call a repair company because direct metal roofing says they will void my warranty, however they seemingly have no interest in resolving the issue without getting legal involved. Let’s go!

DIRECT METAL ROOFING (DMR). These are transparent and factual details with email and photo proof, despite what they respond withwhich will be twisted timelines and lies. The problems began during the roof removal process when DMR's crew accidentally cut my water main, which was located in the attic due to a home repiping before we bought our house. Their attempt to repair the damage failed two days later, causing extensive flooding in my attic. Damages amounted to an estimated $20,000, including a severely damaged ceiling that caved in. I notified DMR's owner, Tony Diaz, I was shocked to learn that their contract includes clauses absolving them of any damages they cause to the property. Despite my appeals for accountability, Mr. Diaz insisted that the company bore no responsibility for the damages. Left with no recourse, I was forced to involve my insurance company to help cover the repair costs. This led to an increase in my insurance premiums, further adding to the financial burden imposed by DMR's substandard work. DMR's communication was frustratingly unresponsive, with days passing before I would receive a reply. The entire project was marred by multiple inconveniences, costing me over two days of missed work and countless hours overseeing the aftermath of their improper repairs. To elaborate on the issues: 1. Lack of Quality Workmanship: The original crew's poor craftsmanship became apparent when the roof failed the dry-in inspection, which was only caught because I was present to point out issues to the inspector. The crew had neglected to properly nail decking boards and fascia boards, leaving numerous nails sticking through the peel-and-stick underlayment. 2. Unprofessional Repairs: The initial repair attempt for the cut water main proved to be inadequate, with the use of inappropriate glue instead of proper sharkbite fittings or crimping. This oversight caused further damage, leading to the devastating flooding incident. 3. Language Barriers: Communicating

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We strive to provide all of our clients a 5-star experience. It is apparent that we missed the mark with you. As with all things, there are two sides to every story. Thank you providing yours. Please check with your husband, as he is aware and has emails with the solution, we provided to address EVERY issue you experienced. ALL of which he denied. Your husband put a stop work order on the job with the county. This occurred before the dry in inspection. When he put a stop work order, we could not be on site and had to stop all work. He never let us finish the DRY-IN phase of your install. This is what caused the issues with the wood that needed to be replaced. This means that we legally cannot be on site. This happened before we could clean and finish what we were doing. It was not until he removed the stop work order, that we were able to come out and finish and clean the jobsite. Your water pipe was not installed to Florida Building Code. It was directly below the decking, which was cut by a hand saw. The only way a hand saw could cut through a pipe, is if it is close to the decking, and not up to build code. Your husband's post on FB has comments that he was aware, but did not mention this to us. We would have never known it was there, and it would have never been cut through, had this information been relayed to us. We did not know you were aware of it until your comments on the PSJ FB community group post. We are roofers, not plumbers. You had 2 Project managers that spoke fluent English. We have everything documented in regards to ALL of the communication that was provided for you and your husband. Lack of supervisors? We had 2 on site PM's during your install. We had 1 until you put the stop work order, and then we had 2 on site for the install. The financial burden of $600 for plumbing repairs and $2500 for your deductible. Your husband asked for $4000 off. We offered your husband via email, and

Had a home inspector do an inspection due to humidity in my kitchen cabinets. Have moisture in one of the kitchen walls & hallway wall. Remediator reviewed the report & went into nothe attic to look for the source which has caused a mold issue. Found an area where water is leaking in. This is a brand new roof Direct Metal Roofing put on in November/December 2023. $17,780 new roof. Called the project manager immediately. Said he'd come look & they can do a repair but are not paying for the remediation that needs to be done. This is right. Remediation would not have to be done if they did the work properly. Never had an issue witthe previous roofing company I used Direct as I heard they were good but finding out not so. In reply to your response Courtney, the previous mold issue was leaky roof & was to have been addressed by replacing the roof. This is from the new roof leaking. Photos were sent to Shane who is coming by today. I'll give the remediation guy's phone number. Bottom line.....this is a new mold issue from new roof leaking.

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. As you can see from the majority of our reviews, we strive to provide ALL of our clients with a 5 star experience. It appears that we missed that mark with your experience. We have been out there and addressed these issues. Your roof was built to code. Your roof has passed two inspections from the city, and a wind mitigation report from a third party. You also had a mold issue before we started the work, and were working with a remediation company BEFORE we did your roof. We will have someone from the office be in touch with you to inspect the roof again.

Updated 2/22/23 - I"ve downgraded my review once again and I can now say that I'm truly sorry to have chosen DMR to replace my roof. DMR finally removed all the rust on my brand new metal roof on 1/25/23. I went up to inspect it, looked ok...about 90% of the rust spots are gone...except I noticed that the replacement roof vents are a different color than the rest of the roof. I wish I would have given my business to another company. Updated11/2/22 - I've downgraded my review and DMR has lost my recommendation. Someone from DMR did come out to inspect my roof on 9/7/22 and stated that the roof caps were not installed properly and they will order additional roof caps and have the existing ones replaced. The DMR representative told me that the rust stains are due to the rivet shavings and should have been cleaned up prior to completion. I also showed the DMR rep a bucket of metal shards, nails, screws, and rivots that were clogging my gutters. While he was there he repaired a gutter that the installation team destroyed. The materials have been sitting in my driveway for a month with no contact from DMR. When I call them they tell me that they are scheduling it. It's been three and a half months since DMR started the teardown of my roof...and it's still not complete. Only hire them if you can constantly inspect, review, and keep up with their work daily...it's the only way to ensure they do the job correctly. I had my roof installed by DMR 7/25/22-8/17/22. I would really love to recommend them as they came highly recommended to me but I'm having second thoughts. Below are the pros and cons of my experience. PROS: • Salesman was amazing – he treated me as if I were his only customer. I asked for references, and he provided them. He also provided several quotes when asked. His turnaround time for providing this information to me was very quick • Teardown team was also amazing! They were quick and left absolutely no mess. Loved them! • Office staff (Car

Can't get a straight answer from anyone about when the roof will be scheduled to be put on or what time my materials are suppose to arrive. The girl in the office said they would drop them in my driveway. Salesman was great, but overall customer service sucks. Once you sign a contract you can't get anyone to give you any information. The installers damaged my cousins fascia and had to get another company to come to fix it. If you haven't signed a contract yet, don't do it.

    Reply from the business

I apologize about the situation with your roof. Your roof will be scheduled to be installed the week after the materials arrived. It looks like your materials are being delivered, and your roof will be installed the following week. We did communicate this information to you yesterday. I assure you, your roof will be amazing when they are completed with your project. In regards to your cousins soffit issue. We are a roofing contractor, we handle everything on your roof from the decking and above. I am not sure who your cousin is, but the last time we had to hire someone with a soffit issue, was due to the amount of rotted wood around the perimeter of the soffit and fascia.

This will be long, but I feel the two big questions after using a company are 1) would you use them again? NO 2) would you recommend them to others? NO. Let me first explain, this was not an insurance claim. This was a new roof installation out of pocket. Out of 4 companies, Direct Metal wasn’t the most expensive, but they weren’t the cheapest either. We were looking at a deadline from our homeowners insurance, so the sales pitch over promised, but the company under delivered. We were told there were “2 or 3 Metal jobs in front of us” and completing the job in 5-6 weeks shouldn’t be a problem. They also promised to provide a letter to our insurance company stating we were under contract. October 29, Contract, Notice of Comment and 50% deposit. Once they had the money, we did not hear from them for 5-6 weeks (let alone actually complete the job). When I say hear form them, I mean I had to call them on week 6. The exciting news that was delivered to me then was “we pulled your permit”. Things actually got worse from there. At 6 weeks we still were never given a letter from them to prove we were under contract. We subsequently got cancelled by our company. I will say, our insurance company was probably looking for any reason to cancel us, but Direct Metal did not help the situation any. At the 5-6 week mark we had also not been placed on the schedule to have measurements confirmed. I again had to call the office to find out when measurements would be taken. She said the measurement guys was helping and install crew on a job. Not a good sign. I asked for a call back with a firm date on measurements. Nothing in response. Two days later I was told the sales guy would come out and confirm measurements. Was told the measurements would be given to manufacturer. Once manufactured, they would be delivered to house. A week later I again had to call the office for an updated on time frame and delivery. Office could not tell me anything, and said they would have to check with pro

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a through review. I apologize on behalf of Our Company, the experience you received. As you can see from our other reviews, this type of experience is very rare. We are by no means perfect, and should have absolutely kept better contact with you during the process. This last year has been extremely hard on contractors with manufacturers and the type of materials, especially colors, available. COVID really put a damper on our industry. Our company alone had over half of our staff test positive for the virus during December. This is by no means an excuse on our part, we should have been in consistent communication with you during the delay of your install. Our company is growing and we are working hard at implementing a consistent and clear communication with all of our customers. Your experience is absolute proof how important communication is. We love feedback. The good and the bad. We will be using your experience as a training tool, as this is not a typical experience with our customers here. Thankfully our crew did leave a good impression with you. We understand your frustrations during the waiting time Mr. Scott. We will be here to stand by our product when you need us. Regards, The DMR team.

UPDATE 3 : DMR did send a gentleman out who fixxed the problem. It was on the stucco and had nothing to do with the way the flashing was installed. DMR gets a thumbs up from me. UPDATE 2 : DMR reached out to me yesterday, and a gentleman showed up this morning to check on the problems and make the place watertight. Waiting for a spell of weather to see if we are out of the woods. He also made some recommendations that we are in the process of executing. Update 3 to follow soon... UPDATE : We have been out of town for a spell, Only to return this morning to the ceiling falling down in my living room. I Direct Metal Roofing this morning and was told my call would be returned by the "warranty" dept. No call... Well today I tried to get into the attic to see if I could do anything as I knew it was going to rain again tonight. Well the attic access was pretty well blocked off as it looks like they left some piles of metal garbage behind in my attic, after replacing the plywood (there has been NOBODY in the attic since the roof was replaced). This has me pretty disgusted as I tipped these guys very well. I spent quite a bit of money above what a shingle roof would have cost, according to what my five estimates calculated out to. My son and I were out in my 12 by 18 shed this morning, and not a drop of water to be found. He and I put shingles on it 9 years ago by ourselves. I have not much hope of hearing from these folks, so I suppose I will be calling my insurance company tomorrow to explain that my four year old Direct Metal Roof failed, and my living room ceiling is now soaked and on top of my leather furniture, 75 inch screen, sound system, new wood floor and tables. The best home improvement experience I've ever had. Carlos explained ALL of the options to me, and allowed me to make an informed decision. All of the folks at DMR were awesome. Jessica, the office manager, and Tony, the owner were right there (and still are) to answer any questions. I am sooo darned
