This company I thought was a great company, but after today no. I was given a time for my appointment today which did not happen. I understand that things come up, but there was a lack of communication and just unacceptable. My appointment …

Mr Suber, We’re sorry we were delayed in getting to your roof repair. Our team was delayed from completing a previous job as we mentioned, and it pushed our schedule back. Thanks for understanding.

Thanks, Mrs Abernathy. Another 1 star review because we refused to lie on our roof inspection report on your behalf. Once again, we will not write a roof inspection report with false Information in order for you and Will to get a discount on the purchase or sell of your home. That goes against our moral obligation to the trade. If you’d like a dishonest roofer, I suggest finding someone else. -Collen Crosby

There were some issues with the installation. Subcontractors did some damage during the installation that they didn’t mention before leaving with the job not fully finished. Garrett from Crosby took accountability for failing to adequately communicate scope of the work to the subcontractors and did what I needed him to do to make it right. Subcontractors came back to finish the job and required some supervision to complete it to my expectation. Traditionally, gutters need to have slope towards the downspouts. They had a good price, but definitely came with some other costs.

They called me to tell me work was going to be scheduled later in the week, and then I didn’t hear from them for 3 weeks. I called them and then they scheduled the work for a random day without asking me. I thought they had said they were going to clean my gutters, so I was surprised when I noticed they weren’t clean after the work was complete. I’ll chock that up to a miscommunication on my part. They also said during the estimate that there were some other things wrong with my roof that they would fix and include on the estimate. They did not fix them. When I called them to ask about it, they pointed out that it wasn’t on the estimate that I approved. So I guess that’s my fault for not adequately reviewing the estimate before I approved it, but I walked away from the situation feeling like I just had a bait and switch pulled on me. The entire experience felt shady from start to finish. I will assume that they did a good job with the work that they did actually perform, but I won’t be using them again.

I had to file an LLR complaint against them which was not closed as stated below. Also, they increased the price by almost 40% without my knowledge or approval. Due to an active dispute, I am not going to list all items here. You can reach out to me for more information.

Heather, We’re sorry you feel this way and appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation for anyone reading this. Your roof replacement was fully completed and approved by your insurance carrier. During the process, the initial insurance scope did not include several required building code items. Those items were addressed and approved through your insurance company in accordance with our signed contract. The South Carolina LLR has reviewed your complaint and closed it after confirming our contract and scope valid. At this time all work has been completed and insurance funds have been released to you, but we have not been paid. We have made multiple attempts to contact you to resolve the unpaid balance and have not gotten a response from you. Please contact our office to pay your bill. -Collen Crosby

The most dishonest company that I have had to deal with. The "inspector" came out to a property that I am considering buying and did his "inspection". His report was not detailed and clearly not thorough. This report conflicted with the housing inspection which identified several issues with the roof. Because of the conflicting reports the current homeowner refuses to make repairs on the roof which essentially will cost more money on my end. I called the company and asked to speak to the inspector's supervisor and got told by the office assistant that she would have to pass it along through her office manager. I had to call back two more times in order to get told that they were going to send me a refund via mail (I paid electronically) and they were going to send the refund to the address of the house that I haven't bought yet. Not once did the office manager call me back nor anyone from this company call be back. I'm doubtful at this point that I will get my money back. Based on my interaction with this company, it is doubtful that any of their "roof inspections" are legitimate or accurate. Recommend finding another company. Will A

Will, Thanks for taking the time to leave this review. Our inspectors are taught to leave an honest inspection, even if that does not fit your agenda. We provide inspections based on FACT, not your recommendation. Although your refund was not warranted, we are granting your refund out of courtesy. The check is being processed and you are welcome to call the office anytime to get the details. 803-648-7250. In the future if you’re looking for a dishonest report to appease your real estate purchase, I’d recommend calling another company. -Collen Crosby

**Steer Clear of This Company!** I had significant damage occur in one of my rental units. All of my usual contractors were already booked due to Storm Helene, so I decided to hire someone I found online. This was the worst decision I could have made. When I first met with them at my house, I made it clear that I needed a quote and that I didn’t want to pay anything out of my pocket aside from my insurance deductible. The sales agent agreed and even included this in the contract. Unfortunately, that was the only good communication I had with them. The problems started when the crew came to install my roof and didn’t bring a generator. They even had the nerve to ask if they could hook up to my neighbor's house. That should have been a sign to avoid them. Nevertheless, I politely told them to either get a generator or go home, and I would find another company to do the job. About an hour later, an employee informed me that they had managed to get a generator to complete the work, so I allowed them to start. Another poor decision on my part followed. They installed the roof but let all the insulation fall inside the house. They didn’t use a tarp or anything to cover the area. As a result, I ended up with tree limbs and insulation all over my kitchen floor. Once they completed the roof, the contractor demanded $20,000 for the job. I calmly explained that my insurance company hadn’t provided that amount; they only gave me approximately $7,000 for the roof. The contractor then stated that according to the insurance paperwork, they had given me $9,000; however, that quote included tree removal and a new window, which they did not do. At that point, the contractor said the owner, Collin, would be calling me. Collin called while I was driving, and I felt I did a good job explaining the situation. He reviewed the insurance paperwork, and I thought he understood my concerns. We came to an agreement on a price, but because I was driving, I couldn’t review the documents th

Larry, I'm Sorry to hear your view of this project. We work extremely hard to make every client as satisfied as possible, and I hate that you are not. We completed your entire roof project, Including reframing the entire front slope of your home due to the hurricane and tree damage. The insurance paid for the work, but preferred to be billed on the back end. Now that we have sent our bill, we expect to be paid by the insurance company. You will not be out of pocket a single dollar over your deductible, but we will be collecting the insurance supplement. Insurance is not meant to profit from loss, but it's meant to restore your home back to its original condition. I look forward to bringing this project to a close, and I appreciate your time. I'd encourage you or anyone reading this to read through our 800 plus reviews to see that we work extremely hard to make our clients happy, and I hate that we fell short with this project.

So we had to replace our roof. At a great price. We chose Crosby. Even though insurance didnt assist us we paid on our own. We were treated great from start to finish. Which can be hard dealing with self pay customers now a days. They had the roof torn out by the time I got home. 12 hrs for a 1300 square foot house. In the heat!!! I was kept updated. When the crew left, they didnt leave anything behind. We didnt have to pick up anything. I have seen the reviews that complained about turn around. They make it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR it could be a month, it could be 2 or 3. The storms backed them up. We started this journey end of June. Dealing with insurance was the longest part. It took less than a month once insurance claim was done. James and the office staff busted their tail for us on the set up and office side. Jorge, Sergio and their crew busted their tails from scheduling. Luckily the weather held out and it all went smooth. Our roof is beautiful! Thank you guys!

After receiving a door knocker in 2025, I kept it just I case the time came for a roof replacement and I’m glad I did. Dylan worked with me and my insurance company to ensure I would qualify for a full roof replacement. James came to my home and we selected the color, he explained the process, and completed the contract, Sergio took care of the order and scheduling, and Chelsea took care of my payment over th phone. On the day of replacement, Jorge kept me updated throughout the process with sharing images and statuses. Then, the crew that worked on my roof, made sure all the debris were picked up and my items returned to the original place. I could to have asked for a better experience and will definitely refer Crosby Roofing to others.

I had a great experience with Crosby Roofing & Seamless Gutters! It was very clear to me that this team prioritizes transparency and customer care through every step of the process. I had a portion of my roof repaired and a gutter installed within just a few days of receiving a fair quote. Final costs were reflective of the estimate. I felt confident in the assessments and repair/installation suggestions provided. All of my interactions with members of the company were very professional and positive. I would highly recommend this business to anyone who needs work done on their roof or gutters.

Why Do Some 7-Year-Old Roofs Fail While Some 20-Year-Old Roofs Don’t? We inspect roofs every week that are less than 10 years old and already experiencing leaks or other problems. We also inspect roofs that are 20 years old and still performing exactly as they should. So what’s the difference? More often than people realize, it comes down to how the roof was installed. Shingles are only one part of a roofing system. Flashing, pipe boots, valleys, ventilation, underlayment, starter shingles, drip edge, nail placement, and dozens of small installation details all work together to keep water out of your home. We’ve seen relatively new roofs fail because flashing was installed incorrectly, nails were placed in the wrong location, valleys weren’t properly constructed, or shortcuts were taken around penetrations. Unfortunately, many of these problems aren’t visible from the ground. They may not show themselves until years after the contractor is gone. That’s why we tell homeowners not to choose a roofing contractor based on price and shingles alone. Two contractors can install the exact same shingle and produce two very different roofs. After decades in roofing, we’ve learned that the quality of the installation is every bit as important as the quality of the material. A good roof isn’t just about what you install. It’s about how you install it. Crosby Roofing has been installing and repairing roofs since 1989, and that experience shapes how we approach every roof we inspect.Aug 10, 2026
