Highly Unprofessional!! I contacted Burgin for a roof repair. Waited nearly 2 weeks for an evaluation and estimate. Was given this verbally only, which in itself is very odd & unprofessional. I expected at least an email copy. Was told the office would contact me to schedule repair. Crickets....so I phoned Burgin. They claimed estimator hadn't handed in any paperwork. (In this day and age one would think it would be submitted digitally). I saw him type info into what looked like a tablet, which he showed me drone pics and said the office would contact me for repair date. I received NO followup, with my request to have repair done ignored! They ghosted me! I guess it wasn't a big enough moneymaker for them! Incredibly rude, disrespectful and a waste of my time. If they don't have enough crew or only want BIG jobs, then don't schedule appts, but to be treated in this manner is appalling and insulting! I would never recommend this company even if they were the only roofer in SC!👎 Thankfully, they aren't and I've met with other roofers who are respectful, professional and value my time! Burgin missed out, since I've decided to replace my 22yr old roof for peace of mind, rather than simply repair. BTW, Burgin said they don't warranty repairs! 😯 Guess they have no faith in their own work!😖 Turnd out I didnt need the repairs they claimed I did. Another roofer pointed out the area Burgin claimed caused my leak, was no where near the leak. The other company discovered the source of the leak related to a nail, ge fixed it in a few minutes at NO charge!! Of course since the Burgin man never walked the roof he couldn't have felt the area in need of the fix! Using only a drone is not a good idea! So thanks for not phoning me Burgin, thus saving me from being ripped off by unnecessary work! RE Response from Burgin: I did NOT mix you up with another roofer!!🤦🏼♀️Burgin was the ONLY roofer I saw at the time. Your estimater ABSOLUTELY said you don't warranty repairs, because you di

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. We strive to provide excellent service to all our customers, and it appears there may have been a misunderstanding. You mentioned the estimator entered the information into his tablet. We do not use tablets for our estimates, and all information is documented manually. We make every effort to return calls promptly and ensure that all communication is clear and transparent. It is possible that there may have been a mix-up with another company, as we take pride in our professionalism and customer service. We do warranty our repairs, and the duration depends on the condition of the roof. If there is anything we can do to rectify this situation, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. We value your feedback and would like the opportunity to address any concerns you may have. Thank you for your understanding.

I called Burgin Roofing for a roof inspection and set up an appointment for nearly 2 weeks in advance, no problem. Three days prior to the appointment, they call and ask if it's a manufactured home (which it is). Turns out they don't service manufactured homes because of the pitch of the roof; a rather bizarre excuse. If they had inquired and let me know at the time of making the appointment, it wouldn't be a big deal. However, I've been waiting on these people rather than making an appointment elsewhere. If your hear the radio ads and are in a manufactured home, don't waste your time with these people; our kinds of homes and money aren't good enough for them to work on.

I contacted by website request and got no response. I contacted again for an estimate and they responded and scheduled me for 8 - 8:30 Friday morning. I took the time off from work to be there and the girl called me shortly after 8:30 to confirm the appointment for Monday morning. She just failed to schedule it and was doing a CYA. It cost them a job

Please accept our apologies for any confusion. I have reviewed our web and phone log. The website inquiry was at 4:42 on the 26th. We attempted to contact you the following morning at 11:30 to set an appointment. At that time your voicemail was full. We called again on the 28th at 12:55, spoke with you, and set the appointment for Monday at 8:30. I'm not sure how the appointment could have been set for Friday. Our schedule was full and would not have allowed for any additional appointments. Again, please accept our apologies for any confusion. Stuart Burgin, Burgin Roofing Services

I always get 2 quotes for home projects. This company came out with their drone and looked at my roof. The guy said he would have to “graciously back away” from the project because the roof was “too flat” for roof replacement with shingles. …

Darlene We went back and checked our phone logs and it appears that you called us on Friday, February 7th after hours and left a voicemail. On Monday, we returned your call. During our call, you informed us that you were only available Monday - Wednesday. You asked for an immediate appointment that week but due to the violent storms the previous week, we were booked solid. You agreed on another date for an appointment but not on February the 12th for us to come to Orangeburg to evaluate your roofing problem. Your review was posted on Saturday, the 15th. Could it be that you called another roofing company because we show no records of us rescheduling or calling you back? While this storm has kept us busy, we’ve completed all our current projects on time and certainly can’t have too many customers. We’d be more than happy to keep our previously set appointment. Please, let us know if this is acceptable.

Burgin Roofing may do excellent work so I am not speaking to that but what I am speaking to is the time frame. After submitting a request for contact via their website I was contacted the next day. Then I was told no one was available to do an estimate for a week, then I was told "I am not even sure when we could do the work". That is great if they are that busy but the way the message was delivered via the customer service line made me feel unimportant and like my business did not matter to them.

Good afternoon Ms. Henderson: di Please accept my apologies for the way my company came across. This is not the way we want the customer to view Burgin Roofing Services. Due to the recent storms, we are a little backed up at this time. This is not an excuse for the way you were spoken to. We want every customer to feel welcome when they call. We would like the opportunity to make this right in your eyes. Please feel free to call me direct and I will take care of this personally. Stuart Burgin

Burgin Roofing saved me from being taking advantage of by a greedy company that waned to charge me almost 4X the price that Burgin quoted for replacing the same roof. In addition, Burgin has a relationship with a company that removes and returns solar panels to the roof. This kept me from having to shop around. The only negative thing I have encountered was the removal of the Dish satellite from my roof. It was taken down for the roof replacement and I assumed they would put it back, but I didn’t know that I had to contact Dish to put it back up until the roof replacement was completed. I am now fighting with Dish because they are taking 2 weeks to put the satellite back up, and we have NO service during this entire time. Had I known I needed them, I would have arranged the service during the weeks I chose to wait to replace the roof. Just a FYI for people like me that didn’t think everything through up front. As for Burgin, I wouldn’t use anyone but them again.

Honest Review / No Really, It's an Honest Review Full disclosure: I don't know anyone who works here, no family, no discounts. I know people say "honest review" and it's not really that honest, but this one is. It's a 4.5 out of 5 for me, and I'll explain where the half star comes off. Backstory: about a month ago, the same day a pipe busted in my front yard, my ceiling started leaking through a second floor light fixture. My husband traced it from the attic to a worn out boot on a venting pipe. Roof was installed in 2014, so it had run its course. I started calling roofing companies, and my advice is to have Burgin come out LAST, because that's the only way you'll appreciate their professionalism. See how everybody else operates first, then they're a breath of fresh air. I won't give away their trade secrets since competitors read these. What stood out: A real person answered the phone. No recording, no press 1-2-3, no hold. She asked questions to make sure I got the right service, gave me an idea of cost, and had someone out within days. The tech calls when he's on the way, and you don't even have to be home, they just need permission to get on the roof. Same day estimate: Chris was super nice, professionally dressed, clean, professional truck. He got on the roof, came down and walked me through everything with pictures, showed me my options, and was honest about what needed replacing and what didn't. Before he left I knew the cost to repair AND to fully replace my roof. No waiting, no guessing. Other companies made me chase them for quotes, and if I have to hunt you down to give you thousands of dollars, trust is already lost. Communication is big for me. The repair: Crew showed up around 8 AM, I talked to them for maybe 10 seconds, left at 10 to run errands, and when I came back they were completely gone. No debris, no tire marks, nothing. They came, they conquered, they left. Invoice came about a week later, I paid it, done. Repair looks great, everything

I had a full roof replacement. The initial work was done in a timely manner and the roof looks nice. I'm giving three stars for two reasons. My original roof had a chimney cricket (small peak to divert water away from the chimney). During the roof replacement, the cricket was removed by the roofer. The roof slope was brought directly against the chimney, to a very long section of flashing with zero slope. I had doubts, but I'm not a roofing guy. Eventually, I started having leaks near my chimney. The stagnant water and debris had corroded the flashing until pinholes formed. The roof was outside the warranty period (ten years?). But I called Burgin and they sent a guy out to look at it. He admitted that Burgin had switched to using crickets due to leaks. But, they wanted ~$900 to replace the cricket they had removed. The second issue was loss of 6+ feet of ridge shingles in a storm. What concerned me was not the loss of some shingles in a storm, but the manner in which they came off. The whole section lifted off as a single unit. It was an easy repair. But it made me wonder what was going on with the fasteners. The only thing I could figure out is that they glued all of these down and/or overdrove every last nail. I'm old-fashioned, but I think of a roof with "lifetime" shingles as something that should be trouble-free for at least 20 years. I don't think it's a terrible roof. But it has definitely not been trouble free, and the roofer has not corrected what I consider to be an installation flaw.
