  I had an extremely frustrating experience with Clear Cut Xteriors. We were working directly with the owner/CEO and he was fully aware that we were working with an insurance claim and even acknowledged that our insurance company was slow and difficult to work with. Despite this, he initially agreed to complete the roof without requiring payment upfront, understanding the situation. However, the project was handled very unprofessionally. We were provided with a start date, but the materials were dropped off in our front yard a week earlier than expected, with no prior communication. The materials sat there for 1-2 days without any updates. We had to reach out ourselves, only to be told that they were starting the roof earlier than planned and that the crew had been in an accident, information we were never proactively informed about. During the repair, they found additional issues with our roof but made the repairs without consulting us first and we never signed an agreement for the repaired. To make matters worse, they directly contacted our insurance company to request payment for the extra work- again, without informing us. We only found out when we received a bill from Clear Cut Xteriors demanding twice the amount our insurance had already approved. We reached out to the owner/CEO to question why the bill was higher than the approved amount, and were told that our insurance had approved the additional payment they requested. When we followed up with our insurance, we were told the additional claim was still under review, contrary to what the owner/CEO had told us. While we remained patient with the slow insurance process, the owner became aggressive, sending threatening text messages and pressuring us to pay out of pocket. He even threatened legal action in an attempt to intimidate us. I would not recommend working with Clear Cut Xteriors if you’re dealing with an insurance claim.This entire process has been stressful and unprofessional. The lack of transparenc

  We completed this roofing project in June without requiring a down payment, despite the homeowner’s insurance company delaying payment for months. Throughout the process, I maintained open communication, primarily with the homeowner’s brother, providing updates and addressing any concerns. I have documented messages showing that I informed them of all necessary repairs, including re-decking, which was required by IRC building code R507.7 to pass inspection. There were no complaints about the work until we began following up for payment. The insurance company took months to release funds, and I repeatedly reached out to assist in getting the checks processed. When the first check expired due to inaction by their previous contractor, I still moved forward with the job to ensure they didn’t lose their ability to replace the roof. After months of follow-ups, the insurance company finally paid in late November for work completed in June, but the first check still had not been reissued. I continued working with the homeowner to resolve this issue, but after several months of delays and lack of engagement, I had to inform them in February that we would have to explore legal options if payment wasn’t secured. Soon after, the final check was finally released in March, nine months after the job was completed. I take pride in our transparency and commitment to quality. We worked in good faith to get this job done despite the challenges with their insurance company, and we have the documentation to support our communication and actions. We stand by our professionalism and the work we performed.

  I would give them a ZERO if it was possible. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! It has been nothing but a nightmare from day 1. I was told things would be done that weren't. I was told that they would replace damaged sheathing - promised on multiple occasions which I clarified over a dozen times since the claim first opened over a years ago. Had I not actually been present when the roofers started putting on the new shingles I would never have known that they were trying to avoid doing this. EVEN THOUGH 4 sheets were included in the bid. Roofers were very disrespectful - too long to even get into. They caused major damage to my gutters which they refuse to take responsibility for. The damaged my fence, destroyed a window well cover, totally destroyed about 25feet of garden fence (about $100 worth) and totally smashed a solar light. They badly damaged my gutters because they leaned their heavy ladders up against them. AND THEN DENIED that they had caused any damage. Even though I personally witnessed them put the ladders directly on the gutters on multiple occasions. (That included multiple supervisory and management staff) WHO DOES THAT??? That should be a no brainer! They DID NOT protect my gardens as I had been promised multiple times and killed what the draught hadn't yet, although with the drought most would have come back. They pounded and ripped the shingles off then just threw them over the edge onto a few tarps that had many many holes and had haphazardly been thrown down not even covering the area. The manager was supposed to come out and unlock and lock the gates each day they were there. HE DID NOT! EVEN THOUGH I spoke to him many times before they started and texted or called every day they were there So the roofers were hauling debris over my old wooden 6 foot privacy fence with total disregard for my property. They did ZERO cleanup. I came back from a short vacation to find roofing nails everywhere - visible to the naked eye. In addition man

  I wouldn't recommend ClearCut Exteriors. Their project management was subpar. I don't know if this is specific to our project manager or if it's systemic. We never knew when things were happening until a crew showed up to do the work. There were long delays that were never communicated, and when reaching out for updates we were often ignored. We also had to ask a crew to come back because they only applied one coat of paint on the new raw wood siding and it needed two. I'm guessing it was one of the less experienced crews. From then on my confidence in workmanship was low. All the work did get done, eventually, but I definitely won't be using them again.

  BAD EXPERIENCE: Naive homeowners new to contacting needs BEWARE! As new homeowners we experienced a bad hail storm which resulted in a totaled roof. We had never done this and didn’t know where to turn. We were given the contact information for Clear Cut Xteriors and here is where our nightmare starts. The representative comes out to our home in Wisconsin and is very knowledgeable so we never doubted we’d have trouble. As a company established in 2019 there aren’t reviews out there, which is the reason I’m taking time to write this, so no one else makes the same mistake we did. We live is Wisconsin, the representative has a Minnesota contract that we were provided. We were told they have an 8 man crew and the roof could be completed in a few hours. We were also told all our flowers and rock around our house would be tarped to protect them. The wrong color drip edging was delivered but the representative didn’t think to postpone the roof work. A crew of 3 show up July 13 to replace our roof, the tarps remained folded near a tree in our yard but never place over the flower and rock surrounding our house. The crew finally drove away after 9pm leaving behind multiple nails, cigarettes and trash. On 3 more different occasions someone was out to clean up since there were so many nails. The final person finding softball size amount of additional nails. As parents of children and pet owner this was alarming, but still it seemed like they were trying. Fast forward to August 21 and we still do not have drip edging, communication with representative has become further in between one time there’s an estimated delivery date the next there isn’t. That’s when we reached out to get a second opinion, which would lead to more of our headache. There is a soft spot on the roof that was never addressed during repairs, there are 15-20 shingles with little to no granules, multiple shingles applied diagonal, they removed the old drip edging from 2 sides of our house while keeping it on the

  Hi Ariel, We're sorry to hear you had such a bad experience! One thing we pride ourselves on when a situation like this arises is we take ownership and will fix any issues. We just heard about these issues when this review was posted. Construction is not a clean, small, or easy process. There will be a mess, there will be debris and while we can try to mitigate that on the job a lot of times there needs to be extra cleanup to make sure it's all take care of. We will say, this review would make sense coming from someone we've completely blown off but that isn't the case here. We haven't even asked for a payment yet. If you give us the time to fix the mistakes and the drip edge color that was 8 weeks out (the crew noticed the wrong color on the job) I'm sure we will be able to accomplish that! That's why after hearing about this today we immediately called in a 3rd party to come meet us at your property to not only here it from us but the actual manufacture to ensure we live up to what we promise. But we are not scamming you in any way.

  I would not recomend this company for anything. They have very poor communication skills, takes months to get them to fix what they did wrong. Not professional workmanship at all. Even when you get one of the owers involved. I highly recomend not using this company.

  Anthony and his crew were a pleasure to work with. Last summer they replaced the roof on our gazebo, and we were so impressed that we had them do our house roof after a hail storm last fall. From the beginning, Anthony was an excellent communicator! His crew was respectful, and everything was cleaned up nicely when they were done.
