I was looking for a reputable roofing company to repair a flat roof in Lake County, IL I found Chicago Flat Roof, They sent out Tony who was able to explain all my roofing repair options and was honest on what I needed and didn’t need. The estimates were fair and what I expected. Chicago Flat Roof was able to complete everything on the day promised without me having to be there. I would definitely use them again going forward. 7.3.2026 I have been trying to reach someone for over three weeks at Chicago Flat Roof to call me back to discuss the same issues that I hired them to fix initially. Issues are still occurring. Finally received a call only to be told that my roof is old and that I needed to spend more money to put a new roof. Paid $6,750 to get barely 18 months. I regret ever calling them do your home work and call someone else.

EDIT April 2026: This was a disaster. I had work done in August 2025 to fix a leak, and two months ago the leak came back. Had new roofers come to take a look, and after taking up the boards we saw that almost none of what was in my contract to have done was actually done. There was water pooling in areas CFRC “fixed”, and more than half the area hadn’t even been touched when my contract stated they would address the whole area. I am so incredibly upset I wasted my time and money on these people. Also I was given money off for this good review, which is probably why they have almost 5 stars, considering they have less than 2 on Yelp. Wish I’d noticed that before. *photos are after they came, when the new company came to fix CFRC’s mess* This place was great. Terry was incredibly quick to respond and help me get my roof leak sorted in just a few days. Would absolutely use them again and highly recommend!

Do not work with this company. They’ve cost me over $15k in repairs due to work they did. I hired them for a roof repair because we had a leak in our home. Not only did they not fix it, they made it worse. They came back and said the only way to make sure the leak was fixed was to re-do the entire thing. I agreed and they put on a new roof. A day later, there was a new and significantly worse leak. They came back out and fixed it. A week or so later, THREE new leaks happened. They came back out, re-did the roof again. Less than 24 hours later, another leak. They went silent for a few days but after texting and calling multiple times, they finally answered and agreed to come out to replace it again. That roof worked for all of 6 months and is now leaking again. I’ve never experienced such incompetency. I’m also fairly confident there are only two employees that work there - Terry and Tony (father and son). They subcontract everything out. I could honestly write so much more about their lack of consideration, inefficiency, and dishonesty but they don’t deserve any more of my energy. [Note: I edited my previous 5 star review. That was done before I agreed to have them replace the roof the first time; they offered a discount for positive reviews]

Edited review: After months of chasing Chicago Flat Roof for a refund of money deposited for work that was a) substandard quality, and b) incomplete, the company has now stopped taking our calls or returning emails. This is despite the owner of the company acknowledging problems with the job we hired Chicago Flat Roof for and pledging to "make it right." Terry Miller, our contact at the company has been dishonest, evasive, rude, and unprofessional throughout this process. My small condo building is out several thousand dollars for work that was never performed, and we will be required to spend more to correct the shoddy job Chicago Flat Roof did. This is simply criminal, but apparently that is their playbook: promise one thing, fail to deliver, and then ignore all follow-up contact. Avoid these people like the plague. I will be contacting the State Attorney's office, BBB, etc. Don't trust these google reviews--they seem very, very fishy. Check Yelp or Angie's List instead for the true story.

I was quoted one price for a roof repair and double the price to strip and replace the roof on a two flat building. I paid over $15,000 to replace the roof. It took them a day and a half to complete the job. About a week later, I got someone to go on the roof for me and discovered a section of the roof wasn’t done. I was told it was a small job and their workers will be back out that weekend to complete the job. That was 5 months ago. Nick blocked my calls and Terry sends my calls to voicemail. They are friendly until they get paid. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. I’m trying to get some of my money back so I can get my roof done.

(Run) Find someone else!!!! Nick & Tony made me feel assured that I was making the right decision. In July 2020 I paid for flat roof service three months later I notice the same area which was allegedly repaired started leaking I attempt to reach out to Chicago flat roof company and to no avail they never called me back. I’ve called them time and time again even had my family members call them and still they have not responded. Had to go to the BBB even they’re having problems contacting the flat roof company next step will be a lawyer and an investigative team - this is sadly ridiculous that they would treat people like this!

I’ve worked with this roofing company multiple times, and they continue to exceed my expectations. Most recently, I trusted them to install a brand-new roof on my newly purchased property, and they absolutely delivered. Terry, my contractor, is hands down the best—professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to doing the job right. From start to finish, the communication was clear, the workmanship was top-notch, and the entire process was smooth and stress-free. What really sets them apart is their outstanding customer service and their support for the military community, which is a huge bonus and speaks volumes about their values. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality work and a team you can trust.

I’ve used Terry and his team before for maintenance on another property, so I already knew the quality of their work—and they didn’t disappoint. This time, they installed a brand new flat roof on a different property of mine, and everything went smoothly. Terry was responsive, professional, and easy to work with. The crew showed up on time, worked efficiently, and the finished roof looks great. I’m a fan of their work and really appreciate the consistency across projects. I’d definitely recommend Terry and his team and will continue using them in the future."

Our condo association is very happy with all the work done by Chicago Flat Roof. They have replaced all three of our buildings’ roofs and always conduct business with professionalism and promptness. When we have requested an inspection for a repair, Terry and Tony came by same day and were so respectful and thorough in their investigation and explanation of the issue and were transparent about pricing and the process for repair. We will definitely be reaching out for further repairs and projects.
