  TL/DR: $20,000+ resulted in more leaks than I started with, over 90 emails and several phone calls to get work done, interior work never started, roofers left and mess and broken equipment laying around. Roofers broke a/c and electrical outlets. Billing was slow to take payment. Owner was responsive but still didn’t get the whole job finished. I contacted this company to do a new roof, repair my chimney and do some interior work in late February. The estimation and sales process was smooth. It took multiple emails to get an estimate on the interior work. I selected Capital City Roofing because they have the best workmanship warranty around. The first red flag should have been when the salesman showed up during the roof install around 10:30 AM and told me the crew should be done that day. This was after giving me an initial 2-3 day installation time. I have a very large house, with lots of peaks and valleys, tons of ridge vent space and more, so two and a half days seemed reasonable. The roofing crew was done by 8 PM that night, but they left my yard a mess, left equipment in the driveway with a flat tire, left supplies in my parking area and the exterior cameras showed very little effort to keep “broom to ground daily” as their contract specified. This led to me to start looking around. I noticed roofing nails in my yard, driveway, neighbors yard, in my ac condenser unit, on my sidewalk and the garden. Then I started to see that they left pieces of Styrofoam and backing plastic all over my yard, as my dog started chewing on it. I noticed busted electrical outlets on the exterior of my house that they used. That drove me to go into the attic and see what it looked like. The exhaust from my air conditioning evaporator unit had been completely disconnected from the unit and was hanging freely from the roof. They sent someone to fix that, but the fix violated building code and disconnected the flue exhaust completely from the ac unit. During the following rain, I had 4

  Hello sir it was a 3 day job because of the drivet work , we told you they would be done with the roof in 1 to 2 days. The Styrofoam was from a drivet repair and when we cut the styrofoam yes little pebbles do get everywhere but it was cleaned up everyday and on the 3rd day of the job after they finished we picked up the minute pebbles . As for your leak it was coming in at your hot water heater vent and we sent a plumber over there to repair it at our cost which wasnt technically our responsibility. We dont work on hvac equipment or vents that vent gas products but it was clearly installed wrong from the get go because the plumber we sent had to add a section to your existing pipe for it to work properly and not be touching the decking per code right .As for the electrical outlet you say we broke it and we sent a electrician that fixed it the next day.As for the payment our secretary that handles the way you paid for it was on vacation for 3 days and she handled it the morning she came back. As for the interior repair we told you we would try to help you find someone and we do have some guys that help us do them but they were on a big job and couldn't get there so at no point were we contracted or said we would do any interior repairs. I dont understand the frustration here because we tried our hardest to please you and make sure everything was right trying to insure you were satisfied .   Absolute rip off. $1400 for 1 hour work by 2 people. No pictures, unwilling to supply itemized bill, contact or not completely unethical

  I still don't understand the bad review. The price was contracted and signed , everything was put in writing that we were going to do , we did everything we said we were going to do. When we talked I asked you were you satisfied and you said yes on everything but the price that you agreed on a week prior to ever starting the job So you come here to bash my business who did what they said they were going to do , for the price they said they were going to do it for all because it didn't take as long as you think it should had. Not because the job was wrong , bad or even a misunderstanding but because you didnt get your way .The threat & follow through to do this if I didn't lower the price is corrupt and absurd. Shame on you!!

  Update: about 18 months later, the new roof developed a leak that damaged the sheet rock in one of the bedrooms. Tried for weeks to get someone out to check the issue, they finally came out. Had to wait another week before repairs were made. I was in contact with them for weeks to get an invoice for the roof repairs detailing what was done, but they kept claiming they were working on it. After 3 weeks, i just gave up. I needed this document for the buyers of my new home. Clearly they werent confident in their repairs and chose not to give an invoice so the new buyers could have some peace of mind. Obviously, they have no issue selling you something but they do not stand behind that product. It was such a pain in my butt to get them to honor their own warranty. Unless you are paying them, they dont seem very interested in helping you. I was supposed to have a 7 year workmanship warranty, and 18 months is definately within that window, but they chose to drag their feet and show little effort in making it right.

  We are truly sorry for the frustration & inconvenice but like every company we have issues sometimes also. We did resolve the issue and as for a receipt we only give them when money changes hands not for warranty claims. Our warranty is transferable so just call in the office and talk to our secretary and she will transfer it to the new owner. Thanks again for the buisnees and sorry again for the leak.

  I scheduled an appointment 3 months ago for a quote and got the run around. I checked in with the company and every other week to ask if they’d gone by the property but they said they didn’t have any info and that Bradley would call me back. He never did. The last time I called he “set up an appointment” to check it out the next day. He never called me back. I called the front office to see if they had any info, they said Bradley would give me a call back. Still haven’t heard from him. I’m very disappointed. I wasted 3 months waiting. Unreliable.

  Mrs Jane Doe we are sorry for this , between the widespread damaging storms and covid it was a little rough on us getting to everybody as quick as we would like. We were doing 30 + jobs a week with 7 crews and going to 180 + calls a week as a company working everyone can to can't everyday . Not making excuses but we tried as hard as we could to get to everyone and still making sure we got normal day to day operations completed . In the future please give us another opportunity 2021 was just a very chaotic year.

  I have used this establishment to complete a roof this summer. I can say that I did have concerms with the finishing of their work, however, they worked hard to rectify and satify my issues without hesitation. Why the score of a two? Now, five months later, I wanted to utilize their services again on another home and the estimate I received was three times, almost $7, 000 higher than any other roofing company in the city. When I called to ask why the price inflation margin, I was told that the company had a price adjustment on their work. Needless to say I had to go with another company. A reply to your response. I do not have a chimney, there is no electrical attic vent fans, or electrical work, I do have a flat front porch, however, I have six estimates as well. So, I look for the margin. There is no offense taken, your work is great, the pricing now is my the issue.

  Hello Mr Zeigler, I went over your estimate and the only reason we could be that high was we had your flat roof, attic fans, electrical & chimney flashing included in the reroof price and not just shingles . Im sorry we couldn't service you this time and hope you will call us again on any other issues you may have. Our prices are normally 20% less than our competition and we have a price match guarantee so there must had been a mis communication somewhere but as always thanks for the opportunity .

  I'm not one to leave reviews, but after my experience with Capitol City Roofing, I wanted to share my experience. It is never good when you are out of town, receiving tornado warnings on your phone, and then your wife calls you in tears. That is exactly what happened to me on May 6th. While everyone was okay, a portion of our neighbor's tree fell during the storm, punching holes in our roof. A roof we had just replaced a year ago. The next morning, on my way to the airport at 5:00am, I sent Hank Forshey (Hank's Plumbing) a text message regarding my problem and asked who I needed to call. He provided me with Taylor Smith's phone number at Capitol City Roofing. I called when I landed in Atlanta, and he said he would ride over, take a look, and give me a quote. I asked who I should call about the tree, and he provided me with Jeremy's contact info at Arbor Pro. I called Jeremy, and he said he would send a crew right out. Keep in mind, I wasn't the only house with storm damage. When I called my wife before stepping on my plane back to Montgomery to let her know that both Arbor Pro and Capital City Roofing would be coming out to look things over, she told me they had already been there. In fact, Arbor Pro was in the process of removing the tree (I had given them the green light to remove it when I spoke to Jeremy). Taylor called, and let me know that he had been there, and that he was going to send a crew out to look at the damage and cover the damaged areas up due to more rain coming in the forecast. When I got home, less than 5 hours from the first call, the tree was off the roof and hauled away, and a crew from Capitol City Roofing was already making the temporary repairs. Later that evening, Taylor sent me a quote/contract for the entire repair. The next morning at 7:30, his crew was there to begin the actual repair. Taylor routinely checked on the progress throughout the entire repair. The crew did a great job cleaning up and left the job site look

  We’ve been getting our roof repairs done with Taylor at Captiol City Roofing and he’s the best! Taylor is always super quick to respond and schedule our repairs. Once we are able to get a new roof, we will definitely be hiring them! Thankful for their expertise and great customer service!
