  I called Bruttell because I like smaller companies, I generally find them more responsive. Unfortunately, this is not the case with this company. I discovered a leak in our chimney flashing was leaking into our attic and bedroom. They came out and recaulked it. It rained the very next day and was still leaking the same amount. I asked them to quote to rip out and redo the chimney pan. I then hired them to do the work and paid in full. The work was satisfactory except the shingles don't match. And I am in a historic district where they care about that kind of thing. Now they are sending me invoices for the failed caulking job. I have never experienced the expectation to pay for work that didn't last a day. Especially when I then hired them to do it properly. Petty and disappointing. Also, I had previously called their flat roof department many times about coming out to get estimates for other work and no one would get back to me. Not the type of responsiveness I would expect from such a small company. Seemingly not much emphasis on customer satisfaction.

  I had used this company 10 years ago and was quite happy with my experience, but a few weeks ago I contacted them about giving me an estimate to replace the roof on my current house. The sales rep told me he needed to get into the knee walls of my attic to verify I had adequate airflow, I found this odd as the 2 other companies I contacted that do a lot of work in my neighborhood and provided me similar estimates didn’t request to get into my attic to provide an estimate, but I went with it and unloaded my upstairs closet to provide access for him. On the day the sales rep was supposed to come out I contacted him to confirm the time, he responded that his company has more work than they can handle at his time and he wouldn’t be coming out. I found this behavior pretty rude and disappointing, he wasted my time. Not sure if the company is under new ownership or something…

  I had my skylight replaced in my kitchen back around November or December of 24 and it has been leaking a few times. One of the service guys came out and said yes it needs to be replaced. Another service guy came out named Brian said I can't get it to leak but he came in my kitchen and he seen the water marks coming down my wall and he seen the wood was rotted around the skylight called their office quite a few times just now called back. They told me somebody will be contacting me which I've heard that for the last few months. I just wish they would come out here. Take care of what needs to be done and that's it. I don't know what the problem is. If it ain't done in 30 days I will take them to small claims court!

  I am extremely disappointed with the experience I’ve had with Bruttell Roofing during a recent roof replacement project at my business. While the new roof was being installed, I suffered significant damage to multiple parts of my facility—none of which existed prior to the project and all of which occurred during the time their crew was actively working on the roof. A major water leak during the project caused $5,000 in damage to our fire alarm system, which now requires complete replacement. Another leak inside a closet destroyed hundreds of dollars in inventory, directly impacting our operations. Most concerning, my central air unit is now inoperable. I have photo documentation of a Bruttell worker hammering trim directly on top of the unit, which clearly shows disregard for the equipment. The AC system was working fine prior to the roofing work. Despite bringing these issues to their attention, Bruttell Roofing has repeatedly denied any responsibility for the damage—refusing to acknowledge the clear correlation between their time on the roof and the resulting issues. Their refusal to take accountability has left me no choice but to retain legal counsel and pursue this matter in court. I strongly urge others to think twice before hiring this company. In my experience, their lack of responsibility and poor communication in the face of clear and documented damages has been incredibly frustrating and costly.

  Sloppy workmanship, see pics. Shingled portion looks great, but the flashing is unevenly trimmed, and the caulking is as I said, sloppy. Homes in my neighborhood are a variety of styles and ages and I have yet to see this level of carelessness. What is most disappointing is that when pointed out to the project manager he defended the work as perfect and told me that nobody is even going to look at this. He begrudgingly said someone would be out to re-work. Re-working turned out to be covering with a larger piece of flashing material. Our home is an older brick Tudor. If your roof has a simple line with minimal architectural detail, you will probably be fine. If your roof has complex architectural features, look for someone with the experience and sense of craftsmanship to carry this off. I will say the clean-up during and after construction was top notch. Edit: Manager insisted on providing 2 new outer domes on 2 existing sun tunnels. They unsealed the existing (never leaking) sun tunnels and plunked new oversized outer domes on top without sealing to the sun tunnels. We now have a steady stream of condensation dripping in. Unacceptable.

  Very difficult to work with as a company and provided a poor product that they have refused to standby. The workers are rude and there is very little follow-up. I feel ashamed that I selected this company for a project needed at my place of employment.

  If I could give this company -100 stars I would. They broke many fire laws and did not care if they dropped shingles on your head. (No spotters on the ground.) I do not recommend them. There are plenty of good roofers -- you don't have to use this company. The people doing the work couldn't speak English and "the foreman" couldn't either and was extremely rude. It took them a week to put a new roof on. Please note: The gas can was right next to a machine that was running and steps away from the entrance of the building. They were low bid "brutal" risky roofers. They just don't care. My contractor friend said to call the fire marshall because they didn't care if they blocked entrances/exits or kept gasoline next to a running machine. I'm sure they didn't care if they dropped shingles on a person.

  Bruttell Roofing just installed a new roof on my home, and it looks great! They did an amazing job! The crew, including Oleh Kozak, were hard-working, friendly, and attentive to detail. When the job was done, it was like nobody was here as the grounds were completely clean of debris and clutter. Perfect! Matt Smith was our go to guy and did a fantastic job selling and supervising the project. He answered all our questions, answered all our phone calls and was extremely knowledgeable in the process and products Bruttell offers making our decision to go with them the right one. Thank you, Bruttell Roofing.

  Matt was great to work with, he provided a very reasonable and straight forward quote for my entire roof replacement. I would recommend Bruttell to anyone looking for roof work. Only reason for taking away one of the stars is portions of the metal flashing/siding were damaged during the roof replacement. Matt was also able to get me connected with a brick mason to take care of some chimney work that I needed done(again at a very good price).

  I had noticed some wetness in my drywall. Brutal roofing had done my roof a couple years ago. Coty Stallard texted and came out. He checked the moisture in the drywall. Nothing showed up as a problem. Then he took a ladder and investigated outside and noticed that my gutters were blocked. Without me paying anything, he cleaned out my gutters and put up a piece of metal that would keep this from happening. I wish all builders were like them. They are outstanding! I highly highly recommend them. Also a shout out to Matt Smith since he organized my roof installation and touched base with me during this problem. Don't hesitate to have them do any work for you.   We had a fantastic experience with this company. The new roof looks absolutely amazing! Matt and Oleh were incredibly easy to work with and highly professional throughout the entire process. I was especially impressed by how much care they took to protect our landscape and the excellent clean-up job they did afterward. The work was both quick and top-tier. Five stars!
