  BEWARE, THEY ARE STORM CHASERS. These guys came around after a storm and insisted I had hail damage. Before going up, they guaranteed they coykd find enough damage to get insurance to pay for it. I watched them go up on the roof but went inside for a minute. When I came back out, I found that they were creating dents in the granules with a small tool, and i could hear the sounds of hundreds of granules cascading down into my gutters. Big mistake on my part to let them on my roof, which is still fine to this day, except for the dents that they made. (6500 square foot house, and the only damaged areas were the 2 areas that they could get to without special equipment. The parts that they could not get to are all perfect)

  See photos of the poor quality. Leaking in our bedroom. Called 3 times, starting this morning and no response from Brookings Construction.

After reviewing our call logs we're not seeing any missed or unanswered calls associated with your name. We’re also unable to locate a customer or property in our system that matches your name with the home shown in the photos, which makes it difficult for us to identify this as a project that we completed. Regarding the interior staining shown, this appears consistent with the ice damming in the photos, which is a common winter related condition caused by heat loss, snow melt, and refreezing at the eaves. Ice damming is not a workmanship issue and can occur even on properly installed roofing systems, particularly in cold climates. That said, we take concerns seriously and would like the opportunity to connect and ensure nothing has been overlooked.   This company is a storm chaser. Their soliciting was relentless. They came up with a plethora of damage to increase the cost of the job for insurance to pay. A neighbor got a report from them that said their roof was completely damaged, and upon inspection from another company, had minor damage and did not need to be replaced. Another neighbor used them and had to pay an additional $7,000 beyond the cost. I asked Brookens for a quote, products used, and warranty information and was told that they do not provide quotes and that they charge what insurance will pay. I also asked for references of people in our neighborhood. Once I asked for this information, I never heard from them again. I highly recommend getting second or third inspections and quotes from reputable contractors before making an insurance claim.

  DO NOT RECOMMEND!! —-update on 10/02— They seemed too busy to reply to my messages for months, but suddenly had plenty of time to respond after I posted an honest review. However, the owner flat-out lied, claiming he had called me “a few times” when in reality it was just ONCE. Just one more lie stacked on top of all the others. Instead of taking responsibility, he kept spinning the same tired excuse that “it’s all the customer’s fault” and that they did nothing wrong. Then came the insult: he actually offered me a $500 discount in exchange for a 4-star review. Not only was that offensive, but it also made me seriously question how they managed to rack up all those 5-star reviews on Google in the first place. When I refused his shady offer and his instructions on how I should rate them, he asked over and over when I was going to pay and threatened that they have "a process" otherwise. If this is the contractor you’re still thinking about hiring, let me give you the only advice you’ll ever need: DO NOT HIRE THEM. DO NOT sign a single document unless your approved claim covers the exact amount they quote. DO NOT schedule an appointment until your approved claim covers the exact amount they quote. If you ignore all of the above and end up with one of their “surprise” bills? The ONLY thing left to do is warn others here — because unlike everything else they control, they CANNOT DELETE a Google review. —-update on 10/01— The owner's reply on Google has a much better tone than the Facebook one, so I followed the advice and reached out to them via email, I’ll post update here for how soon they respond and what they’ll offer. —-original review—- I am extremely disappointed with my experience working with this company. At the beginning, they made several assurances and promises in order to get me to sign the contract. Once the contract was signed, they do NOT reply to my emails or phones or messages at all, but just had another person push me for the project appointme

  Would not recommend them...Pete N. came by inspected my roof and said I had hail damage. I lined up my Insurance agent and filed a claim, but no one from Brookens showed up for the insurance inspection...and the claim was denied. I called Pete again to follow up see what happened and what he thought, no call back, no email, no apology, no nothing...like they never looked at the house.

  Horrible job on my gutters . You can see all of the hangers , and all have done so far is make excuses .

  Hey Sravan, We’re truly sorry that you feel our decision on the fascia justified you revising your rating down to a 1-star. We’re also glad that you are happy with the roof replacement and everything that else that we did for you with the insurance claim. Unfortunately, all of the work that was agreed upon couldn’t be completed due to pre-existing construction deficiencies. The fascia metal that was contracted to be replaced was unable to be done due to the fascia boards behind the metal being completely rotted out. We gave you the option of removing the fascia metal from the contract or adjusting our price to account for the additional labor and materials needed to replace the fascia boards. You agreed to the change order to remove the fascia and work directly with the handyman we referred you to in order to get this work done at the best rate possible. We feel that we’ve done everything reasonable in our power to help your situation and it’s discouraging to find out that you’re very disappointed with us.

  Last Saturday I was disturbed by “door knockers” offering “free inspections” at 5 pm. When I went out I noticed 4 guys walking up and down the street (north Madison) knocking on every door, looking through windows and really disturbing the peace in the neighborhood. When I asked the person if he had a permit, he did not reply and kept walking. I find this extremely unprofessional and would suggest you stop harassing neighborhoods, specially on weekends. Having solicitors during those hours/ days is extremely unprofessional and makes this company look very thirsty for work.

  Thank you for sharing your concerns. We double-checked our door-knocking logs and have not conducted any visits on a Saturday at or around 5 p.m. in the past month. We don’t knock on doors after noon on Saturdays, so this must have been a different company. We understand that door-knocking can sometimes be unexpected, but it's a common practice in our industry, especially in areas affected by hail damage. As you likely know, having left a review for the Xactimate course at The Adjuster School in Texas, this type of outreach is standard in our field. When we do knock on doors, we strive to approach every neighborhood with respect and professionalism. Our goal is to offer assistance to homeowners who might need it or may not be aware of potential issues. Many of our clients appreciate the convenience of evening or weekend visits, and we always ensure we have the necessary permits to do so.   Everyone from the office staff to the onsite contact person to the workers were just the best! From beginning to end, my wife and I felt we were treated with the utmost respect and courtesy, and they did an excellent job in keeping us posted on the various steps leading up to the day of the job.   After storm damage in 2025 we contacted Brookens to inspect our roof on the referral of a neighbor. We worked with Cody, and he went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. The insurance claim process was drawn out with multiple inspections, multiple adjusters, and general difficulty. Cody was present for each visit from the claim adjusters to make sure they were treating us fairly. After we received approval for a partial replacement, the supplement team at Brookens worked with our insurance to get the full replacement that was necessary based on the damage. It was a great experience and we would use them again.

  Great experience with Brookens. From the beginning they detailed every step of the process. Everything happened on time with plenty of notice. 2,000 ft ranch Plus garage was done in one day. Clean up was great. Very hard-working crew. They worked 14 hours straight. Follow up after the job was done was the next day. They left an extra bundle of shingles with us in case we would add skylights or something.
