  This is an example of a company that adds very little value beyond acting as a middleman. My original quote was around $12,000 and included a new roof, gutters, fascia, and soffit. After added fees and charges, my final bill exceeded $15,000. The crew that actually worked on my house wasn’t employed by this company—they were subcontractors according to the rep. Throughout the process, I felt like I was dealing with salespeople and office staff who had very little practical knowledge of roofing or construction. I also have reason to believe approximately $1,000 worth of my tools disappeared while work was being performed. I wasn’t even asking to be reimbursed for everything—I only requested credit for a nail gun worth about $300. Their response was to offer me $150, which I found insulting. To make matters worse, the roofing crew punched two holes in the ceiling of the only finished room in my house. The company’s solution was to send someone out for $150 for “half a day’s of work” total to repair both holes. Screw the drywall up and slap a coat of quick mud? No texturing or painting involved? Finished in 4 hours? Unbelievable. This was, without question, the worst experience I’ve ever had hiring a contractor. Between the unexpected costs, poor communication, property damage, and lack of accountability, I cannot recommend this company.

  Dear "Frank" (Ben), We want to be completely fair here: you are right that our internal communication delayed our initial response regarding the drywall, and we sincerely apologize for that breakdown on our end. That said, we took immediate steps to make it right once management was informed. We offered to send our top finish carpenter to properly repair and finish the drywall over multiple visits. Instead of letting us fix the damage, you opted for a cash credit. We agreed to a $300 total credit covering both the drywall and a goodwill gesture for the missing tool claim (despite tools being stored outside on an active multi-contractor job site), which was accepted before final payment. Regarding the price adjustment: The additional charges were exclusively for replacing rotted roof decking and fascia board. As clearly outlined in our contract, the usability of underlying wood cannot be determined until existing materials are completely removed. Replacing rotted wood is necessary to ensure the structural integrity and warranty of your new roof, and unit pricing for these unforeseen repairs is explicitly stated upfront. We take accountability for our communication lag, but we always strive to provide real solutions and structural integrity on every project. We consider this matter closed per our agreed terms and wish you well on the rest of your flip. Respectfully, Greg Marischen Owner

  Will only come out if repairs are at least $1500 so this isn’t the place to come for smaller residential repairs. Not noted on the website until you call.

  Complete disregard for neighboring houses. Doing a project next store. Trash everywhere in my yard that has not been picked up . They deem its ok for everyone to start waking up at 630 a.m. when they start banging on the roof. Highly recommend skipping this company when looking for roof repair.

  Work was OK, but behind schedule with lots of issues that Big Bear kept blaming on the workers. Big Bear is just a contractor that hires installers.

  I was referred to Big Bear from my insurance company. They came out immediately. My insurance didn’t want to replace the entire roof but Blake and Greg assured me they would submit a supplement report to my insurance company and take care of it. Whelp, Blake and Greg ghosted me. I was told they were working on it for over a month and then crickets. I left a message and sent emails but no response. What a crappy way to do business. A follow up to let me know anything at all would have been better than being ghosted by a roofing company.

  Wendy - We understand this was not a quick process and things may have taken longer than anyone would have like. We are always trying to improve as a company and have taken steps to try to assure projects have better communication, as well as keep to a better timeline. This project had material delays because of siding accessory matching and that is no excuse, but we were on site for less than a total of 10 working days. Unfortunately material delay and time to match can take longer than it should, but we should have communicated more effectively and we apologize for that.

  Colton was fantastic to work with and made the process easy. He did a wonderful job of helping us work with our insurance and went the extra mile to made sure our claim was fair. He came out and met with our adjuster his professionalism was appreciated. The crew who did the roof did a wonderful job and we love our new roof.

  We recently had a new roof, gutters, downspouts etc installed by Big Bear Roofing and could't be more pleased! Everyone on the team was excellent relative to knowledge and communication. Special thanks to Blake Zimmer, who went above & beyond to make sure our experience was both hassle and stress free. He was there before, during and after, ensuring the debris was incrementally picked up, nails were removed from the driveway, patio etc. From meeting with our insurance adjusters, explaining the bid, to final walkthrough, he was always responsive and available. There are so many roofing and exterior companies to choose from and for us supporting one that is locally owned & operated made the experience even more rewarding.

  I can't say enough good things about Connor and his team! We moved into our new home last summer, and they replaced the entire roof of our house (over 5,000 square feet) in just one day. Their professionalism, efficiency, and quality of work were truly impressive. Even after the job was completed, Connor continued to provide exceptional service. When I noticed what I thought might be a leak in our ceiling, he came out promptly to inspect it and confirmed that it wasn't related to the roof.   My experience with BIG BEAR ROOFING was excellent. From beginning to end everyone was professional and went above and beyond providing great customer service. The job was completed quickly without any problems and the cleanup was done leaving no signs that a new roof had even been replaced.
