Roofer came out for an assessment and stepped through the roof/shingle leaving it damaged then would not respond to texts or calls after he did that. Baker is VERY lucky my HOA will cover the costs...and I mean VERY.

Took 5 months to have gutters installed. I got invoiced before the project was complete, had to reach out asking them to finish the job before I sent payment. Upon completion, I noticed the gutters were hung entirely too high and exposed the OSB under the shingles. Completely unacceptable, insane that someone looked at this and gave it the OK. After bringing this up the "fix" was lowering the gutter and installing a piece of flashing, however this still exposed the OSB. I ended up having Baker remove the gutter guard which allowed the shingles to sit flat. I will not have Baker do any more work on my house.

Incredible rude women answered the phone on speakerphone. When I asked to please not be on speakerphone so I can hear what she is saying she fumbled around with the phone then hung up on me after about 10 seconds. Tried calling back and went into a waiting cue. No thanks.

Scheduled an appointment for an estimate for replacing 10 doors, trim boards, gutter & roof repair. Rearranged travel plans so I could meet with the estimator (Chad). Spent over 2 hours on Friday, May 3, 2024 thoroughly going over all of the details and allowing the estimator to take measurements and gather all information needed to create a proposal. Never heard back and it has been over three weeks. Baker Roofing ghosted me after I shortened travel plans and spent 2 hrs with the estimator. Their prices are usually much higher than other contractors and not worth spending a premium if customer service is this poor. Fortunately for the consumer, they are not the only company that does home repairs.

These guys are garbage! They are dishonest and as far as I can tell, will not return your phone call. Red flags should pop up anytime you call your service rep and his voice mail box is full and can't accept anymore messages. They will not stand behind their work. They are now claiming after charging me $5k to replace a copper roof that the leaks I am now experiencing in the same place are coming from somewhere else. I believe this was probably the case all along, but they saw an opportunity to sell me one thing when I actually needed something else. They also claimed the old roof wasn't installed properly, but they installed the new roof the same way. Do not use these guys. I would recommend CJ Deans Roofing.

Dear Natalia, First and foremost, thank you for allowing us to provide roofing repair services in the past. Whenever we receive a review such as yours, it causes us to look back on the job file to see what we can learn from the event. After a review of the job notes and pictures, it is hard to affirm the observations of the other roofer on the rotten decking (perhaps it was in an area not associated with our repair?), as it is always our process to replace all rotten decking. We are deeply sorry that your experience with Baker Roofing Company did not meet your expectations as it is always our goal to provide you with the very best experience and service possible.

You had a driver 4:44pm 4/12/2023 at Walmart Magee, Ms that blocked the service road for 3 minutes and flipped us off. Great way to do business.

The advertising claim about doing work at "a loss if they must" unfortunately doesn't seem to be true. I was initially a pretty big fan, and I had the company come out to fix about $2000 of roofing related things and they neglected to fix a small 1.5 square of my roof that was without shingles - a pretty big oversight on the "fix all the problems" request. This wasn't in the estimate because the estimator didn't see it, which is forgivable, but this wasn't my oversight. (The estimator also didn't walk the whole roof). A painter later found the problem that would take about 30 minutes to fix. To come back and fix this small part they missed, two phone reps insisted on charging me a SECOND $450 minimum trip fee to come back. I would have gladly paid hourly or even half that price, but they wanted the minimum charged again for finishing the job, and they were completely unwilling to accommodate or even ask up the chain. Had they fixed it the first time this would have probably only been a $120 job (or even $250?) on top of the original number. Since they don't stand behind their work and the claim of their advertising does not seem to be true, I will find another roofing company.

On time, did roof repairs as detailed in estimate, sent a photo gallery of the repairs. And on completion, the guys blew the pine straw off my entire roof.

Recently Chase Wilder was our project manager on a residential job that included new roofing; gutter system; attic fans; skylight removal; and repairs with Hardie siding. We were pleased with Chase's attitude and communication skills, his responsiveness to our questions, and his hands-on ability to get the work done well. My husband and I also appreciated Chase's on-site presence, making sure that the project went according to schedule, and involving a number of workers. A complicated job was made predictable and less stressful for us. We are very pleased with the results under Chase Wilder's management. Two thumbs up!

This is my second siding project using Baker and I'm happy to have hired them again. I worked with Rob and Greg this go-round and am happy to report that both are friendly and solid at their jobs. Communication was clear and timely, which is something I needed as the house being re-sided was an hour from where I currently live. When a few boards needed replacing due to rot, or if there were questions about the pediment above the garage that was being removed I got a text and a photo immediately. I opted for the pre-painted Hardie. The crew did a great job replacing the siding, kept the jobsite clean, and completed everything in a timely manner. I received some wild quotes from five different siding companies in the Triangle; Baker was in the middle of the bid range, and while it certainly wasn't cheap, their warranty and dedication to customer satisfaction is what sealed the deal for me. They do good work and they stand by it.

Above and beyond! From explaining what’s to come, scheduling to fit our needs, craftsmanship, product quality & appearance, cleanup, and just darn nice people to talk to. If I had more roofs I’d definitely be calling on them again! Impeccable!

Thank you, Greg! Setting expectations up front and cleaning up after ourselves are the parts we work hardest on, so it means something to hear you call those out. Hope you don't need another roof for a long while.

This is the third time I’ve used Baker Roofing. They’re always professional, do a thorough job, and communication is exceptional. Their workmanship and high standards are why I continue using them. Thanks to Kelly Norris and Chase Wilder for making the whole process a breeze from start to finish. They were great to work with.

Three jobs in and you are still calling us, Eric. That is the part we never take for granted. Kelly and Chase both had a hand in this one, and they will get a copy of it.

I have used Baker a number of times—for roof repairs, replacement, siding repair, and skylight replacement. They have always done good work, and have been excellent at communication and being transparent on their pricing.
Reply from the business
Roof, siding, skylights, and repairs along the way. That is a lot of trust spread across a lot of jobs, Chris. Being straight about pricing up front is the easiest way to keep it, so we are glad that has held on every one of them.

Matt, the supervisor for the job, kept me informed of the work schedule. Two gentlemen arrived at the expected time and completed the installation by midafternoon. I am no expert on gutters, but I was very pleased with what I saw. The site was clean and the gutters looked great. Matt contacted me a little later to be sure I was satisfied with the job. Truly it could not have been better.
Reply from the business
Bob, Matt followed up after the crew left to make sure the work suited you, and not every company bothers with that step. Gutters up by midafternoon with a clean site behind them is a good day.

Hal, we will take that. Two days sun-up to sun-down is hard on a crew, and not being able to turn up a single nail or shingle scrap afterward says Octavio's guys finished the job properly. Kelly got you started right too. Welcome to the list.

An older roof draws you a map of its own drainage. Look at the pale fan spreading below the valley here: that is the path most of this Raleigh roof's water takes, and the surface along it has worn differently from the surface either side. Granules are the layer taking the ultraviolet hit and keeping the asphalt beneath from going brittle, and the routes that carry the most water are where they thin first. Which means the useful question on an ageing roof is not "how does it look" but "where does the water concentrate", because that is where it will open up.2 days agoCall now
