I hired recently this company for a roofing project and regret the decision. The owner is very polished and persuasive before the contract is signed, but once work begins, professionalism, transparency, and execution fall short. This was the most expensive bid I received. Significantly higher than other reputable contractors and I selected them based on online reviews. Unfortunately the work did not justify the premium pricing. There were unauthorized changes made without approval, poor judgment in execution, and a general lack of respect for agreed plans and scope. Several aspects of the job were incomplete or below standard, and important contractual items were repeatedly questioned or pushed back whenever they were inconvenient for the contractor. I was pressured to accept shortcuts rather than having the work done as originally agreed. Overall, this experience felt like a company driven more by sales talk than by discipline, craftsmanship, or accountability. If you value clear communication, adherence to agreements, and quality work, and especially at higher price points, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

We had them over to give a free estimate for a possible leak. They came over right away and we were told we had a cracked drain pipe but that the bigger issue was that we needed a new roof. We bought the house recently and our inspection report assured us we had another good 10 years on the roof. We decided to wait and get a second opinion. When we told American Star we were getting a second opinion, they got very aggressive and blamed us for making them think we were going to hire them. When the time came around for the second opinion we were told we had about 10 years left on our roof and that the drainage pipe should be replaced. Anyone who can't remain professional and makes clients uncomfortable shouldn't be in customer service of any kind. If I can't get a second opinion and ask reasonable questions then why would I ever hire you???
