In 2024 I bought a home that had been reroofed by Alvarez Roofing in 2021. I’ve had a lot of issues with the roof leaking. They will not honor the 10 year warranty because the warranty was not transferred to me within 30 days of closing. They must avoid a lot of warranty work with this policy.

They agreed to do my house roof and my porch roof for x amount of dollars. I get there to their location to sign the paperwork and have it notarized and then they backed out. All that money they were going to make off of me and they backed out because of the wind MIT.

  Reply from the business

I’m sorry you feel that way, I backed out because you asked for a discount and a wind mitigation even after knowing that prices went up since we gave you the estimate. I love making all my customers happy and all my reviews can tell who we are. I’m glad to have a bad review from someone I didn’t do any work for. I honestly hope I could have done your roof but you were asking for me to do it without a profit and I’m running a honest business. Your review bothers me because I truly care about my business, I do all I can to maintain a good reputation and a good name. Sorry again and have a wonderful day.

So, I admit I have a long memory for these types of things. I had written a 1 star review for this company about a month ago and took it down at the urging of the owner who is very concerned about how he looks here. After having our roof done by another contractor I have to reinstate the one star review. First, when these guys came to give me an estimate they did not measure or even get on the roof. Instead, the man that came out said he'd do the measuring online and get me the quote the next day. A week later I still had no quote nor any phone call explaining why it was taking so long, thus the first one star rating. The owner of the company calls me basically begging me to take my one star review down and then proceeds to guesstimate a quote for me while we are on the line together. He also tells me he can't do the work for 2 months - sorry. Needless to say I didn't use this company run by incompetents. I used No.1 home roofing who did what they said they were going to do for five thousand less than Alvarez. No.1 also offered a superior product and warranty and their crew was top notch. I wish you luck if you choose this company. However, after speaking with the owner he stated to me that he has begged others to pull their 1 star reviews as well. I won't be pulling mine again and I do not wish to be contacted by this company. Why sir would I, the home owner, need to tell you, the contractor, the size of my roof? I'm not a roofer and you didn't measure. Sorta backs up my original claim that you're full of it.

Here it goes, my original respond, with begging and all, lol. Never beg for a review, if you want to be honest just be, dont make up all this lies to hurt my business. You told me the size the roof had and base on the number you gave me I … More

We have hired Alvarez Roofing Services three separate times since 2018. They have installed our roof, soffit/facia, and gutters for us. Each experience was fantastic!!! I cannot say enough good things about everyone I communicated with especially Obed and Jay! The crews were very professional, respectfully, and cleaned up well. Highly recommend!

Alvarez Home Repair replaced our damaged/old roof from Hurricane Milton. Both the shingle roof and flat roof and drip edges (about 1700sqft) were installed in 3 days. Extra work included replacing damaged plywood, fascia wood boards, and …

Great experience from start to finish with these guys — highly recommend! Omar, our estimator and sales rep, was punctual, professional, and incredibly patient with me and my 50 million questions. The office staff were friendly and efficient, the price was fair, and the crew was punctual, respectful, and hardworking. The quality of work was outstanding, and our roof still looks fantastic years later. It even held up beautifully through both of the 2024 hurricanes, with only a small amount of shingle loss — a true testament to the craftsmanship and materials used. Their Facebook page even features a video of our roof from above — check it out! Our roof was completed in 2019. We went from tile to shingle and were admittedly nervous, but Omar provided references, guidance, and helped us choose an architectural shingle we absolutely love.

Best roofing company. They were on time, polite, did what they said they would do, did an excellent job, cleaned up good all with very good prices. I’ve used them several times since 2015 and wouldn’t use anyone else.

Joy is very nice and always returns your calls and emails. I am pleased with my new roof and gutters. Jay and his crew did an awesome job. They cleaned up behind themselves and ensured no nails or debris were left in the yard.

**Updated 2025** I used this company back in 2020 for my mother's roof, so when it came time to get my roof replaced (insurance forcing it in 2025), I included them when getting quotes. They were still competitive in price and since I knew their work, I went with them for my new roof. I would highly recommend this company as they were professional and responsive throughout the process. I had a ton of questions since I was upgrading from a shingle roof to a metal roof and I am so happy with my new roof. We got quotes from 5 companies. A co-worker recommended Alvarez Roofing. We ended up going with Alvarez for several reasons. Omar was knowledgeable so I felt comfortable with him right off the bat. The written estimate was clear with what was included and what the price of extra wood was. They came out when they promised and everything was completed on time. Great job and I have already recommended your company. Thank you for all you did and the level of honesty that was given to us.

I can highly recommend Alvarez Home Repairs, LLC for roofing. As a retired contractor, I was looking for a roofing company which could meet or exceed the material and installation methods I am accustomed to, at a fair price. Bottom line, they exceeded my expectations. I have used CertainTeed roofing products on my jobs for many years, and wanted a CertainTeed trained and certified roofing contractor to do my jobs. Their company has invested in the training for their crews to be certified to the standards of being Select ShingleMaster installers. Beyond this, I wanted my installations to meet the standards of the CertainTeed Integrity Roof System, which requires the highest of materials and installation practices to qualify for the SureStart PLUS 5-STAR Warranty Coverage. This coverage cost a small amount extra, but, in my opinion, it is worth every penny of the cost and extends the factory warranty out many years on a non-prorated basis and is transferable to a new owner. In Florida, your roof system is very critical in protecting your investment. Otniel Alvarez and his crews are competent and capable. The process in dealing with them was seamless from my first interview, estimate, contract, commencement, permitting, installation, clean up, final county inspector approval and warranty registration. And, I am confident, if an issue should arises down the road, they will stand ready to resolve it. This is exactly what I was looking for in a reputable roofing contractor. UPDATE ON NEW WORK COMPLETED 7/2/2018 I had a roof leak issue on another home I own in Florida. Alvarez Home Repairs, LLC replaced 2 roofs for me on other homes in 2017. I again called on my "GO TO" roof company to get the job done correctly. Jay came out and looked at the roof (inside and out), took pictures and send me a written quote on what needed to be done to correct the leak and repair the roof damage. It was a fair quote, given the scope of the work to be done. Within a week la
