Very poor business. Do not use them for roofing or remodeling.

I hired Affordable-1 to replace the roof on our new home, largely because Brett Ross, the general manager, was a former neighbor and someone I wanted to support. During the initial inspection, Joe from their team mentioned that the soffits might need replacing if they were damaged. After completing the roof replacement, they claimed the soffits were fine and reinstalled them—but failed to seal the gaps between them or around the edges. I contacted Joe multiple times, but he kept delaying. Eventually, I reached out to Brett, who had Joe return to apply caulking. Unfortunately, the work was extremely poor—so poorly done it looked like a child had done it. I sent photos to Brett and requested a proper fix. Although they came out to inspect the issue several times, no corrective action was taken. As a result, my home has now suffered water damage, and I’m left with no choice but to pursue compensation through legal channels. To make matters worse, even the roofing job itself was subpar and now needs to be redone. I genuinely wanted to support a veteran-owned business and a former neighbor, but this experience has been deeply disappointing. I strongly advise others to avoid doing business with Affordable-1.

Warning* Check with your insurance and make sure they did a windstorm inspection! They skip the inspection required for windstorm insurance while installing my roof. I didn't know until I tried to switch insurance. Anyone who's had a roof installed by these people in the last 7 years or so needs to check with their insurance to make sure their inspection was done. Took me six months and actually having to drive to their location to get the contract and bill of materials from them, so I could pay to get the roof they installed inspected. They ducked me for months, constantly telling me they would dig out my documents and call me back when they found them. Then eventually just stopped answering my call and voicemails all together. They were hoping that I would just go away since the initial install work has a 10 year warranty and it's been 7 years. Just really shady business practices and ethics.

Affordable 1 used very low-quality materials and had horrible support when problem arised. For example, they used either PVC or very thin aluminum for flashing and two years later it started deforming. When I called, they did not want to do anything and did not pick up my calls. I finally got a hold of the manager and they came and straightened it. Now, few more years later I have more places like this. Deformed flashing means insects breeding behind it and potential for water leaks. Also, they convinced me to replace roof vents I had on original roof with ridge vent and told me it was much better. In reality, a lot of dust is now accumulated in my attic, either because they did not make that ridge vent correctly or else. Another issue was that the color of the flashing was very light and did not match anything. None of the neighborhood houses had flashing this light. When I called them to paint it in matching color, they just bluntly said NO. They damaged a lot of insulation in the attic apparently because they used too long nails. Photos are coming soon.

DO NOT recommend this company for ANYONE who is looking for a contractor. While the reviews show that this company is VERY good at roof work it falls incredibly short when it comes to home construction. We were the unlucky participants in the Winter storm of 2021, we were the unlucky participants in the Winter storm of 2021, causing 8 pipe bursts, Damaging the kitchen, Master bathroom as well as the garage and the back of our home. We were very understanding when it took a month to get workers in here, but their project managers were way in over their heads from the start. We had multiple construction crews and plumbers working on our project over the past 4 months, and they all seemed to have been told the project was smaller, quicker and simpler than it was, as well as missing items causing them to rush to get ours done, doing a shotty job. This frustrated not just us but also the construction workers themselves and I found it incredibly insulting that the "managers" disrespected their crews so much, wasting their time as well as ours. The construction crews affordable 1 higher are very hard workers (the second one we met...there did great, but there was so much messed up from the first crew) but it’s obvious that they lack the "project managers" construction calls for. The project managers rarely came in to check up on the work being done so things were forgotten or overlooked. There were large amounts of time between the construction’s crews work periods, a normal but they had covered up shotty work such as: old wet insulation not removed from the pipe burst pipes and attic were not insulated, We only discovered this when we cut a hole in the new ceiling to find out why the ac duct was dripping condensation (they accidentally removed the ac duct from the vent blowing air into the uninsulated attic) We had to fight tooth and nail to get things corrected while multiple issues repeatedly and when questioned on it their "project manager" asked "what is really to c

Good Morning Mr. Del Castillo. We see in our records that we completed your project on 10/24/2019. So forgive us if we think that is review came out of "left field". We know that we did hit a water line in your attic that was up against the roof wall, when we were nailing your shingles. This water line was actually installed against code because it was not installed at least 3 inches away from the roof wall. We're not sure if that's the way the builder installed the water line or a plumber of your choice. The nails that we use are only 1 1/4" (inch and a quarter) long, which means we should never hit a water line if the water line is installed properly (3" inches away). Unfortunately, we don't have X-ray vision to see through the roof decking (5/8" plywood) to see the water line. Nonetheless, it happened and we are apologetic, and to show good faith we went ahead and fixed the water line and the damage the water caused to your drywall and paint, in the corner of your bedroom, (not entire house flood), although we didn't have to since our contract specifically states that we are not liable if this were to occur. The project was capped out after we completed all the repairs to the roof and to the interior. It's unfortunate that you left a negative review because this was part of the arrangement of fixing your interior, even though we weren't liable. We are company that prides itself on customer satisfaction and the overwhelming positive reviews that we get reflect that. We just feel it's a little unfair that we got a bad review from you even though we made you whole on your project, including getting your insurance company to pay for the roof in the first place when they didn't want to, so that you didn't spend $Thousands$ of dollars out of your own pocket. Thank you for the opportunity to service you and the feedback, we will work tirelessly to try to ensure this doesn't happen again. Good luck to you sir.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the incredible work done by Affordable 1 Home Services, especially JR Garcia and his crew! After our home sustained significant hail damage, they replaced our roof and completed the interior repairs, and we were extremely impressed with the entire process from beginning to end. JR and his crew were professional, dependable, knowledgeable, and incredibly detail-oriented. They did an outstanding job on our new roof, and the interior repairs were completed beautifully as well. The quality of their workmanship truly exceeded our expectations. What impressed us most was how much JR genuinely cared about making sure everything was done right. He kept us informed, answered all of our questions, and made what could have been a very stressful experience feel easy and manageable. His crew was hardworking, respectful, and took pride in their work. We are extremely happy with the results and would highly recommend Affordable 1 Home Services, JR Garcia, and his crew to anyone needing a new roof or repairs following storm or hail damage. They went above and beyond, and we are so grateful we chose them! Thank you, JR and crew, for a job exceptionally well done! 👏🏠

Khanh was fantastic with dealing with our insurance to make sure they understood the roof and gutter damage was more than our deductible so that we didn't have nearly as much out-of-pocket cost. He kept us updated as the process went along. When it came time to discuss the insurance appraisal and repair, he was very up front and honest. The repair work went quick and smoothly. We will definitely used Affordable 1 for further needs should they arise.
