The roof is ok and the gutters were good but my chimney is complete garbage. Got ahold of someone and they said they couldn’t do it any better than siliconing metal over the existing tar. The number one concern I had was the chimney and they promised it would be done correct. I was shocked when they finished and it looked like this. Also they left garbage all over my yard including a random slipper tons of nails and cigarette butts. They came to clean again and I’m still finding nails and garbage. This is a horrible company to deal with.

I am an adult with a mortgage. I've replaced everything on my house roof to drain tiles. I absolutely do NOT want a storm chasing loser driving my insurance rates into outer space selling me crap I don't need. Extremely irritating.

    Reply from the business

Dear Karen, We're curious—how exactly did we irritate you? Did we stop by to let you know we were working in the neighborhood and leave our phone number in case you had questions about a build happening nearby? If so, we apologize for the interruption, but that's typically the extent of our "storm chasing." In fact, we're not storm chasers at all—we're actually your neighbors. We've been in business for 14 years, and we live and work right here in the same communities we serve. Our kids go to the same schools, we attend the same local events, and we support the same local organizations. Storm chasers leave town. We stay. We're also licensed by the State of Wisconsin and, as required, maintain bonding and insurance to protect the homeowners we serve. We've invested years into building a reputable local business because we plan to be here long after the next storm season comes and goes. Calling us a "loser" stings a little, because we've worked hard to build a company we're proud of and earn an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We also try to give back whenever we can, including serving meals for families staying at Ronald McDonald House and supporting other charitable causes throughout the community. So, we were disappointed to see this review. As for "driving insurance rates into outer space selling crap people don't need," that's certainly an interesting perspective. The reality is that insurance companies determine pricing and typically create the adjuster summary that becomes the scope of work. Our role is helping homeowners restore their property after storm damage and navigate a process that most people never want to deal with. Last year alone, we helped 5,146 families restore their homes. Many of those families were able to avoid significant, unexpected out-of-pocket expenses and now have safe, dry homes. Frankly, we're proud of that. That said, we genuinely appreciate feedback—even the spicy kind. We'd love the opportunity to learn more about

Dear Stojan Jovic, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We are truly sorry for the frustration and inconvenience you experienced. What you described is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we sincerely apologize for the breakdowns in communication and follow-through along the way. We would like to clarify your reference to signing three contracts. You did sign one contract to work with Advocate. In addition, you signed a color selection form and a Third Party Authorization, which allows us to communicate and work with your insurance company on your behalf. We understand how these documents may have felt like multiple contracts, and we apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We also want to clarify that the “Kansas City” phone number you referenced is our centralized call center. While it may appear to be a separate office, it exists specifically to support our customers when they need updates or assistance, and we’re glad to hear that the representative you spoke with there was helpful. That said, we fully acknowledge that you should not have had to make repeated calls or experience long periods without communication. We apologize for the disruption caused by the sales transition, the delays in getting your project started, and the lack of consistent updates. We also regret the issues that occurred during construction, including the damaged internet cable, and the screen window. We understand you will be sending us the bill for the damaged internet cable and we are currently working to repair your damaged screen. While we’re grateful to hear that you’re pleased with the final appearance of the work, we recognize that the experience along the way matters just as much as the end result. Your feedback is being taken seriously and is helping us improve our communication, internal coordination, and clarity moving forward. We appreciate you choosing Advocate Construction and giving us the opportunity to learn from this experi

Hi Jesse Liebl, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’d like to offer some clarification on a few important points. First and foremost, we want to be absolutely clear: we do not operate illegally. That accusation is both false and offensive. Advocate Construction operates with integrity, upholds professional standards, and takes pride in standing behind our work and our word. We're also disappointed that rather than continuing to work directly with us to address your concerns, you involved neighbors in a way that negatively impacted our ability to serve other homeowners in the area. Open, respectful communication could have led to a much smoother resolution. To clarify the issue regarding a refund: your deposit was not denied because you voiced concerns to others. It was denied because, after extensive effort on our part, we believed we had gone above and beyond to resolve both actual and perceived issues. We responded in good faith at every step, and after significant time, labor, and costs — much of which went beyond the scope of our original agreement — we closed out the project. No further financial adjustments will be considered. Please keep in mind that we addressed every concern brought forward — including multiple chimney repairs, flashing corrections, and covering the cost of ceiling repairs. The remaining leak was traced to a pre-existing issue unrelated to our contracted work. Despite this, we still made efforts to assist in order to protect your home and bring the matter to resolution. We take all customer feedback seriously and are always working to improve. That said, we also stand by our team when they’ve acted with professionalism, responsiveness, and integrity — as they did in this case. We truly wish you the best moving forward. Dear Shannon Thill, Thank you for your feedback. We take concerns like this seriously and want to provide clarification regarding this situation. Several weeks ago, we completed an inspection at your request. Following that visit, we received a direct email from you asking for us to return. During a follow-up conversation, you mentioned wanting to research our company further. Out of respect for that request, one of our representatives stopped by a few weeks later to check in and see if you were ready to proceed. At that time, you informed us you had received an inspection from another company and was told there was no hail damage. We then offered to explain the importance of involving the insurance carrier directly, in case damage had been overlooked. Our team member performed another inspection during that visit. At the conclusion of the appointment, you expressed dissatisfaction with our sales approach, stating it felt pushy. We apologized, clarified that was not our intent, and respectfully left the property. We want to be clear: our goal is never to pressure homeowners or disregard their decisions. We strive to provide helpful information, especially when insurance claims may still be a viable option, but we fully respect a homeowner’s right to decline service. We regret that our visit was perceived as anything less than professional, and we have made note of this experience to further coach our team on respectful follow-up. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify and wish the homeowner the best moving forward. Anna, Customer Relationship Manager

Advocate Construction damaged our corner siding when they installed our roof November 18, 2023. After their Service tech failed multiple times to match our corner siding. 1st time: Painted and brought out a mismatched style to what we had. 2nd time, 1/28: Service tech did not have the right size - crew showed up but could not install. Feb 5th - service tech who bought wrong corner siding twice already, then gave us other options....mismatched size, mismatched style, OR we could have $500 to find the corner siding ourselves. He recommended that route as in his words "you may have better luck finding that perfect match." We did not accept any of those options. We had a 3rd party quote us for repairs. The project manager finally stepped in. We asked them to replace all of the corner pieces to the same size or style as long as they matched. Advocate agreed to that. Finally on May 24th the Crew came out to replace all corner siding to match. We were so excited to be done with this company. Went to look at the corner pieces only to find that the crew USED drywall screws to rig the corner pieces on. The corner pieces were also crooked, leaving large gaps and the house open and exposed in other areas. Hair was stuck to one of the corner pieces. One coat of paint applied that was streaky with build-up along the edging. That is how it was replaced. We waited for someone to reach out since this fix did not go well. On 5/28 we reached out to ask if the crew gave feedback on how the repairs went. Production manager "they said it went smoothly and the pics looked good." We then sent our pictures and concerns. After looking at our pictures, manager agreed it was not good work. We were sent a check to have another company do the repairs since they could not get the job done. We became very concerned about other areas of house and roof. Roof inspection on 7/23 confirmed 2nd story has damages and exposed areas of siding. PLUS roof defects that will need to get repaired. A representative from Advocate Construction came strolling down our driveway after a hailstorm. If I knew then what I know now about this company I would have had the police remove him for trespassing. I’m 72 years old and I have never worked with a more deplorable company. The shingles were laid way out of scope according to the manufacturer’s specifications; their solution, to have the manufacturer give us a waiver for when this becomes an issue. We will see how this works out. The first rainstorm after the shingles were laid the rain literally poured into areas of our house. Other areas, especially around the chimney, soaked through our attic and our wood in-laid ceiling in two rooms. This soaking spread as the months wore on. We had an interior wall begin to break apart from being rain soaked…rain eventually led to melting snow. At first we were told by every representative they sent out there was not a problem with the job. Eventually, after numerous videos and pictures they said they would repair the work. That took approximately six months and a lot of internal damage before they made the roof repairs. Over a year later they finally repaired the internal damage and while I’ve been steadily cleaning up the fine yellow dust that continues to settle due to our wood ceilings needing to be completely sanded, the repairs seem to be holding. Next, almost immediately, came their strong-arm tactics to collect the remaining amount due that had gone from $6,200.05 to $8,200.05. without receiving an invoice I received a call from in attorney in another state demanding I pay this immediately. Since I had never received an invoice and had to ask the attorney to lose his attitude (he didn’t) I decided it was potentially a scam call. I contacted advocate construction inquiring with regard to that since I had no invoice. A few days later Matt came strolling down our driveway, invoice in hand wanting $8,200.06. I had recently contracted COVID, warned him of this yet he w

Super helpful and walked me through the entire process and what to expect. Even throughout the process I could text him and ask questions, he always was so responsive. Advocate Construction is a very professional team to work with. Drew was a very personable and helpful sales rep. And the team that came from beginning to end were all very professional and did a terrific job. Advocate worked with our insurance company ironing out the details so all was covered. We were extremely impressed on how the crew came out so quickly, on time, and clean up was exceptional. Advocate even sent out a specialist, Will, to repair a piece of siding by our gutter after all work had been completed. (Thank you Will, for fighting off those hornets while installing). All in all, Advocate met and exceeded our expectations, and we are very pleased with our new roof and gutters. Thanks again to Drew, Will, Bic, and all the crew at Advocate.

We had storm damage to the roof and gutters of my home in the spring. Advocate Construction completed a project across the street and my neighbor was very happy with the company so I reached out for a quote. I worked closely with Stephen Rodriguez for the entirety of the process. He evaluated the roof and then spoke with my insurance company to submit a claim and continued communication with them until the approval process was complete. He checked in on the workers during the project and then followed up several times through completion. He made the process stress-free and I would gladly work with him, and Advocate, in the future.
