  2 stars = below expectation, contract followers Bottom line: I am another job, another dollar. I got a good-looking roof and gutters, and the cleanup was well done, but the experiences I had to endure to get there were cumbersome. Inconveniences turned into frustrations, and frustrations turned to anger when a big event happened. I was looking to be taken care of (in ANY capacity), and I instead saw the true colors of the company by being shown the contract. I did not feel like I was being taken care of, as one would expect for the paycheck I wrote. Instead, the work in progress was showered in praise as though the final result would make the bad experiences go away. A whole lot of talk, with very little action outside of the work outlined in the contract.

  David came out Monday to inspect roof for estimate, said he'd email it Wednesday. He didn't. Called him Thursday, told him I needed it before the weekend and he assured me he'd send it that afternoon. He didn't. Friday came and went without the estimate. Guess they have so much business they don't need mine.

  I once was satisfied with this company, but now I give YELLOW HAMMER ROOFING a 1 star rating because of them will them trying anything they possibly can to get money out of you even after you sign the contract. I was being billed for 2 turbines to be installed plus ridge vents. After completion, I noticed that the roof was missing 2 whole turbines. I called the sales rep Dwayne Currier, after he sent me pictures and the invoice, and told him that I was being billed for something that wasn’t there. He explained that you can’t do both ridge vents and turbines and they installed the ridge vents. I highlighted a screenshot of where I was getting charged for both, which he waited til after the weekend to take the charge off. (IF I HADN’T SAID ANYTHING, I WOULD’VE BEEN ROBBED FOR $332.29) Fast forward to 2 weeks later after completion, I receive an invoice with payment due of $167.36 for building permits. I called and asked why am I getting billed for permits after I’ve already paid the remaining balance and that permits should’ve been listed in the contract prior to signing. It was stated by Amy Coleman that they only know how much the building permits are after completion. My invoice states “We purchased the required permit from your governing municipality PRIOR to installation to ensure compliance with current building, construction and zoning codes.” Once I asked to get a itemized receipt from where they have paid the county for permits, it was then said to me that my account was then paid in full and I was all cleared from the payment. This company is out for money however they can get it from you. Amy Coleman was the same person that sent the invoice for the permits and if I hadn’t called, I would have been out of $167.36 for permits that should’ve been included in the beginning, because it seems as if I confronted them on charging me for turbines that weren’t there, they have to find something to charge me for.   I had yellow Hammer Roofing come out to replace a garage and home roof. I guess they did not send the A-Team. I have had them out three times after the install to correct bad workmanship. The first item to repair was the transition from home to patio roof it was leaking in between the two roofs onto my patio. The second and third items called out for incorrect nailing they left nails on the roofing not seated thus lifting the shingles up with a air gap , making it easy for strong winds to get under and rip off. And to add injury to insult when they came out to repair the roof they placed their ladder against my aluminum cover over my Eve thus scratching up the eve and leaving silver scrape marks on my eve caps. The repairs required two separate attempts to correct. I am adding on to my home the new roofer I used inform me that they nailed the shingles way too high on each single. The shingle will not seal correctly or and the nail will not penetrate the shingle installed before the new one laying on top. Not nailing them properly will make them more acceptable to come off during the summer because of the thin layer where the nail is placed. This will not make for a strong Roofing job. While removing the old roof they scraped shingles, roofing nails along with tar paper disregarding my cooling unit. It was completely covered up on top along with items getting inside past the fan. If my unit had come on while all this debris was on it it could have damaged the unit. This was unacceptable and not a good experience at all. Do not recommend this roofer there are too many out there that do quality work.

  Terrible communication. The guy that came out to do the estimate was nice and made a lot of promises. I emailed him all of the information he requested then he stopped responding to emails and I never heard from him again.

  Roughly about 3 months ago I called Yellowhammer. I had been researching roofing companies for several months and had been told to check Owen Corning website for a list of their Platinum Preferred Contractors. I did and Yellowhammer was one of them. An appointment was made, and David came out to my home. He inspected my roof and advised me that it did need to be replaced. As the crew was replacing the roof, they found that the old chimney cap was not replaced properly when siding was added. Water had leaked down between the wall and siding causing a good deal of damage. David reported this to me, and so fortunate that on the crew was a young man who did framework. Yellowhammer figured the cost of materials and labor to repair the chimney which David quoted to me. The cost was added to the original quoted price. The roof looks fantastic, and you really cannot tell the chimney was rebuilt. I would definitely recommend this company. David kept me informed all the way, and the crew was courteous and hard working. The job was completed as they said.

  Aleah was wonderful from start to finish. She was always available, quick to respond, and never missed a beat even after the tornado came through and things got even busier. What could have been a stressful experience felt so much easier with her help. She answered all our questions and never made us feel rushed. The Yellowhammer crew did a great job too. They showed up on time, worked fast, and the quality really shows. We care a lot about how our home looks, and we’re really happy with the results. We didn’t want to cut corners or just go cheap. We wanted it done right the first time, and that is exactly what we got.

  Aleah did a fantastic job coordinating the roofing job and stayed in constant communication with me. She was personally onsite watching the work, went up on the roof herself to ensure quality was to standard and even inspected the clean-up work. It just doesn’t get any better than that.

  We had a wonderful experience with Yellowhammer. Our roofing contractor Aleah Holland was amazing to work with from start to finish. We only had a minor repair, but Aleah gave us the same personal care and attention as if we were having our whole roof done. She quickly had an estimate for us and the roofers scheduled. We had to be out of town on the day the work was done. She supervised the workers, sent us pictures, and kept us in the loop the whole day. I could not recommend working with Aleah and Yellowhammer more.
