  I had an appointment on 8/4. Ben showed up on time and assessed the repair and gave me a good idea as to what was needed. When leaving, he said he would get me a bid in a day or two. 8/11, no bid and no contact. Ben was wonderful though.

I do want to clarify an important distinction for homeowners who may be reading this. During in person walkthroughs, we typically discuss findings at a high level and differentiate between immediate concerns and lower priority items. Our written inspection reports are intentionally more detailed and conservative, as they’re designed to document all observed deficiencies including preventative and forward looking items based on how roofing systems commonly fail over time. Different professionals may have different thresholds for what they consider necessary versus optional. As roofing contractors who inspect failing roof systems every day, our responsibility is to disclose not only what is actively failing today, but what is likely to fail in the future so homeowners can make fully informed decisions. We understand how the difference between a verbal summary and a comprehensive written report could feel unexpected, and we appreciate the opportunity to receive that feedback.   Edit2: Since my first edit I’ve been contacted and we are actively working at resolving this issue while partnering with a 3rd company. Will leave final update once all is complete. Fingers crossed that issue is resolved for good. Edit: Dropped my review from 5 to 2 due to the company leaving me with a leak that drips into one of my roof vents and leaks slowly into my bedroom. Every time it snows or we have heavy rain. They came out numerous times to resolve the issue and tried different types of vents to resolve but ultimately ended up ghosting me after a failed attempt back in March 2024. I will reach out yet again to see if I get any response. Working with True Grit from the initial phone call to the final inspection was as easy and smooth as possible. For once, we felt that we had a perfect experience and nothing negative to say about the way they handled everything. Luis was great, super responsive, knowledgeable and flexible throughout the whole process. He answered a million questions that I had and was very thorough in explaining the process as well as our options. The crew that came out to do the work were hard at work all day long to ensure that they'd be done in one and a half days. We had our entire roof replaced and new gutters installed. They also reinstalled my existing gutter guards. They were always on time when they said they'd be here and cleaned up well after the job was finished. Our insurance adjuster and Luis communicated directly to make sure everything was covered. The roof looks uniform and looks super clean. The gutters were tested today as it rained pretty hard and they all seemed to be working as expected. I will recommend True Grit Roofing to all of my family/friends who are in search of any roofing work. I am happy that I chose True Grit to take care of our needs. Thank you all.

  Put a red roof on rear my house when tan was on the front without getting my approval and refuse to correct.

  Thank you for the feedback Joyce. We did apologize for the mistake we did initially install the incorrect color of product on your repair section. We then bought the tan roof material put It next to original tan roof sent you a image of what it looks like ,followed by a text of yours confirming that was a good correction. We then started the roof repair correction over again and the outcome was a new tan roof along with your aged tan roof. Color match is not perfect due to new shingles and current roof being aged with typical wear and tear. We have everything documented with before and after images of both times we were there.   An excellent experience, of the three companies we contacted about our issue, they were the only one to actually get on the roof prior to the bid. When they presented the bid they provided pictures with notes to show what they were going to do. At installation time the installer was very nice, and did a wonderful job.

  Ben was awesome. We got hit really bad in Wyandotte County on August 19, and he inspected everything—the roof, gutters, siding, and windows. He showed me photos of everything and even took a video for me. He wasn’t your typical roofer ready to push you into contacting your insurance. He was factual, straightforward, and honest about what he found. I really appreciated that and will absolutely be referring him to others.

  True Grit Roofing Company delivered an exceptional experience from start to finish. Their entire team was professional, organized, and clearly committed to doing things the right way. Communication was excellent at every stage, including inspection, quoting, installation, clean up, and insurance support which made the process smooth and stress free. The crew was friendly, respectful, and hardworking. Their craftsmanship was top notch, and they were extremely thorough with both the installation and the clean-up.   Ben Turla came out to my home to give me a roofing estimate, and I couldn’t have been more impressed. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional, and he took the time to walk me through everything in detail. He even provided a very thorough video inspection, which made it easy to understand exactly what was going on with my roof. The crew that came out and completed the work did an excellent job as well. They were efficient, professional, and the finished product looks great. From the initial estimate all the way through the completed work, the entire experience was fantastic. I highly recommend Ben and this company to anyone needing roofing work. Excellent service, great communication, and quality work from start to finish!

  I got 3-4 quotes, True Grit wasn't the lowest but their customer service & presentation won me over plus the fact I know that they do work for the City so they're vetted contractor.   I hired them to replace the roof on a house I was purchasing and they did a great job. They were reasonable with the payment as it was pending closing, very responsive, communicative but not the cheapest by any means. I would recommend though.
