  Zero stars. They are great salesmen and keep in touch with you when they are trying to sell you the job. If you have a problem with their roofing when the work is completed you have to chase them around. Then when you get them to come over to deal with the problem they will act like they care and they will do little things that don't cost them any money to make it appear like they are correcting things. But if they made a big mistake that will cost them time/money to correct you're out of luck and they will lie and weasel their way out of fixing the real problem. I suggest you look up the # of times they've been taken to court ( I was one of them) before you consider hiring them. They are great salesmen that do shady work.

  Your office staff are the entrance and face of your business. I called this morning spoke to Alexius and was immediately placed on hold then transferred to another lady who told me the office was closed and then she placed me on hold to take another call. Apparently customers are not the priority. This is how business is lost.

  This was a really horrible experience. The roof ended up costing me twice what the original quote was for but that's not even what I'm upset about. There were dishonest businesses practices at play here. I had told Duane that the corners of my fascia boards were rotting and assumed I had to replace the entire 10 foot board on each corner of my house so I told him I was going to budget an additional $1600 for this. He told me it wouldn't be nearly that much as they could just replace the last few feet of rot and not have to do the entire board. Then, after my roof was entirely ripped off my house, he told me I had 85 feet of rotting fascia board and it would cost almost the exact amount I had originally planned. However the 85 feet of boards were not rotten. So they ended up charging me for 25 feet and actually replacing 15 feet. Why did they have to lie about this? And then they did a terrible job and I had to ask them to come back and fix at least four things, you can see in the picture how the flashing is not overlapping, they had to come back to fix this on two of the four corners. I have zero confidence my roof is installed correctly. They also damaged my deck rails and I have this beautiful cedar ceiling inside that extends to the eaves and they put nails straight through these in numerous places.

  Called to ask why they weren't using lead abatement measures to remove siding on a neighbor's house. When they called me back they said they have owners do lead tests and that they'd check to see if the owner did one. Lead testing is NOT the responsibility of the owner, it is the responsibility of contractor, by a qualified professional, according to law. Surprise, they never called me back, which says to me they knew as well as the whole neighborhood does that the structure was covered with lead-based paint. There are six children, all under the age of five, living on the block. They should be ashamed of what they exposed them all to. I shudder to think what other regulations, designed to protect people from unseen health risks, this company doesn't follow, and how many other projects they've cut corners on. Choose a different company with better - or any - morals, that won't knowingly expose you, your children and your neighbors to poisonous substances. Do not give your hard earned money to a business as unscrupulous as this.

  We had an awful experience with this company. They are pushy and their sales tactics are abrasive. Like dealing with sleazy car salesman that won’t leave you alone! Called a million times! They try to give you low prices first only to then later lure you in with added costs. They will try to sell you everything! Roof...windows...siding, gutters, deck, painting....anything they can get you to agree on. Make sure you get a second opinion most of the time they will try to sell you on something that doesn’t even need to be replaced. Wish there was more honest companies out there.

  This is not an honest company. The work crew is ok, but the management will take any opportunity to screw you with with extra charges. Watch out for innacurate estimates of the time required, and don't sign anything unless they guarantee an acceptable fixed price for the whole job. It helps if you or someone you know has an idea of how much work is required. If you sign off before finding out, you will get screwed 7 ways 'til sunday.

  I wanted to give it a year before I published a review, so there was time to calm down and see how the roof would hold up. The general contractor, Jon, is a bully. He is really good at making everything seem like it is either your fault, or you’re stupid. About the only thing he is good at is being completely condescending and arrogantly dismissive of any concerns/questions.... Even though that’s his job. My $6K roof turned out to be $12K... Granted I had a lot of rot. Jon is great at making sure you feel like there aren’t any options or ways to work with you. The crew was very nice, but they left debris, trash, and nails in the driveway, thrown all over the yard. My neighbors sure loved that and thanks for the tires I had to buy (another -$1,000). Lastly, my skylight has been leaking, and has condensation, and also has a crack since they started the roof. No, I didn’t call them to come fix that. Also, shingles have come off with typical winter weather. Nope; did not call them for that either; DO NOT want to do business with Topside ever again. The general contractor, overall poor customer service, and the entire experience: I would rather pay cash to someone who actually knows what they are doing. Or just have the skylight and shingles to all fall on me. Shop around for a better roofing company. This isn’t it. I wish I had, one year, one broken skylight and -$13,000+ later.

  Donny and Chad built us sturdy beautiful deck after removing our tired old 45 year old deck. At the end of each work day they left our yard totally clean of any debris. Donny communicated well with us at each phase of the construction. They are the BEST!

  Steep roof? No problem for Topside Roofing and Siding. I reached out to three roofing companies, and Topside stood out immediately. Their representative was thorough and professional, and the cost estimate was both detailed and competitive. The installation crew worked quickly, stayed friendly, and did a fantastic job.   I am more than pleased with how our roof turn out. The whole experience from office receptionists, project manager to the work crew, everyone involved were professional and smiles all around. Project manager came by a couple of times to make sure things were going well. Everyday the crew would sweep the area with magnets.And when the roof was completed he stopped by and inspected the work. And the price was competitive. CWT

  We had exceptional customer service from Topside Roofing! Carson came to our house to do the estimate and we met with him in the showroom afterwards to pick out our roofing materials. He was honest and helpful with what would look best with our house. When the day came for the install, the Tomas brothers (and others) showed up and prepped the site. We were worried that our old sticky roofing materials would end up thrown on our new deck or damage our cable railing. Just days prior my friend had her roof done by someone else in town and was left with a big mess afterwards. The Tomas Brothers covered both our decks and moved my heavy ceramic planters. They installed the roof and replaced a skylight and it turned out beautifully. Itzel, the Project Manager stopped by on several occasions during the install to make sure we were pleased with the progress. Even Carson returned a couple of times. Every day they cleaned up the site including using a blower to make certain our house was perfectly clean of any debris. When the ENTIRE project was complete we found only 2 nails. That’s hard to believe for a project of our size. Two nails! My friend had to rent a nail picker-upper from Hardware Sales to clean up her site! Would I recommend them? ABSOLUTELY!! Top not customer service just like the good ol’ days. No wonder they’ve been voted best in Bellingham/Whatcom Country year after year!

  Dustin did a great job installing some kick flashing on one corner of my roof by my gutter so it would stop dripping onto my railing. He was professional, friendly, and efficient.

  After a brief search for a roofing contractor, we meet with a representative of Topside Roofing to assess our roof and to identify related problems. That single meeting gave me the confidence to retain Topside. Topside arrived on schedule with the agreed roofing materials and began work after introducing me to the crew and site management. Work began promptly and was completed in three days, including a thorough cleanup. In addition, the crew working on our roof were extremely polite and willing to answer all my questions. Topside managers inspected all aspects of the roof installation and stated that the work was as described in the contract. Later, I inspected the installation and workmanship and was extremely satisfied. Every aspect of the work was professional, thorough and cost effective. My wife and I are completely satisfied with Topside Roofing and we believe that their work is both cost effective and very reasonable.

  Dustin came out this morning to check a leak over our front porch. I told him in advance I thought it was a gutter issue, but he came out to check anyway. He quickly recognized the issue, grabbed some flashing from his truck, and hand-fashioned a diverter to force water into the gutter instead of over the edge of the roof. No charge! That's good service.

  We were in need of a new roof, a skylight removal and gutters for our home. Moving up here only 7 years ago, we were at a disadvantage of knowing reputable roofing companies. TopSide installed a roof on a mobile home similar to ours near us and the roof looked beautiful and was installed in a reasonable amount of time. I set up an appointment with Ashley; and Duane came out and did a thorough estimate. He gave us two options and we chose the Composite shingle in Birchwood. We were originally told it would be the first of June but we were able to get an install date the second week of May. The materials & Dumpster were delivered on the appointed day and the crew arrived as they were leaving. The tear off, skylight removal and gutter demo was done in record time; and they were even able to begin to lay the new roof on day 1. These guys were so professional and cleaned up before they left. Day 2, they arrived around 9:30 AM and finished up around 3:30 PM. When we got back home, it was like they were never there. Everything was cleaned up, our deck debris from the gutter removal was blown off and neat as a pin. The Dumpster was picked up the next morning. Our new gutters were installed on Memorial Day in less than 3 hours and they look beautiful. The Project Manager, Itzel, was a dream to work with and made sure everything went according to schedule. I highly recommend TopSide Roofing for any service they offer. We are planning on have our windows replaced by them in the near future. From the initial appointment to the final walkthrough, this was a most enjoyable transaction.
