Switala's Construction

The only one or two-star review we hold for Switala's Construction.

OVERPROMISED & UNDERDELIVERED We hired Switala’s Construction to tear off and redo two flat roofs that were holding water. Jim, who we worked with, was scatter-brained, cocky, forgetful, and TOLD us what we wanted rather than listening to us. If you like workers who smoke, show up late and leave early, leave a mess in your yard, take three weeks to do a week’s worth of work, put up a tarp so poorly that rain water leaks onto your kitchen ceiling, don’t communicate when they promise to, and overcharge you by $10,000+ then Switala’s Construction is the company for you. Our “before” and “after” pictures are nearly identical – in a bad way. The second roof never even got finished, with excuses such as “not enough men” and “workers in poor health.” When we made Jim aware of the fact that one roof was still holding water months later, his only solution was offering to “come look at it.” DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Stop wasting your time reading this review and go look for a more reputable company, like we wish we had!

We completed this job in October of 2024. We did not hear of any issues until February of 2025. At that time an email was sent to us with a picture of a "snow drift" on the roof. We tried multiple times to set up an appointment to come over and assess the situation and the homeowner refused.

Great company ! Honored pricing from previous year. Crew cleaned up everyday afterwards hand picked nails out of my flower bed. They even moved away all my bucket veggies and plants away from the house. …

While it took longer to finish our project than originally planned, the work was perfect and they really made things right. They even replaced fence boards that broke because their ladders were stored next to them and broke when the winded forced a gate open. Didn't expect that but it shows that they are a quality outfit.

Jim and his team did a great Job and went above and beyond. Full tear off with new roof, skylights, and gutters. They were very thorough picking up old nails from the property. Even sent a crew back for another sweep for a couple hours the following day. With small children at home that level of care goes a long way.

I cannot say enough good things about Switala's Construction. The entire team was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly efficient. During the initial consultation, they took the time to thoroughly assess our needs and explain the best options available. They guided us through choosing the right materials and even dropped off sample pieces and booklets at our house. In addition, the installation crew was outstanding. Their attention to detail was exceptional, and the quality of workmanship was truly impressive. If you're looking for a roofing and siding company that delivers great service and results, look no further than Switala's Construction. We are beyond pleased with the outcome and highly recommend them to anyone in need of roofing or siding services.
