We paid five figures to have the roof replaced on our commercial building. The job was done so poorly that it has rained inside our building repeatedly since. A year has passed, and we've had to call them back time and again, including today, when again the rain poured into our interior. Because of so many issues, we asked an engineer to look at the work, and he confirmed that Summit neglected to manage the seams to keep the water from flowing downhill into our building. This has been an expensive disaster. I would urge you to find a different company to do your work. [EDIT/UPDATE: After more than a year, Summit finally capped around the perimeter of the roof, where they had previously drilled vertically down into the structure to attach the membrane, those vertical breaches being one cause of the significant leaks into our building for months and months. A terrible experience.]

    Reply from the business

Every time that we were contacted about an issue with this roof, we came right out to solve the problem. We never ignore the issue or neglected our responsibility to repair the roof. Every leak is not a cut and dry situation, sometimes it takes some time to locate where it is occurring. We repaired the roof and sent a check to cover the interior damages that occurred from the leak. For the last 6 months, I was not contacted about another issue with this roof, until this review was posted. I offered to go back out and take a look at the roof and due whatever needs to be done to fix the problem that is causing the issue. My services have been refused by the building owner. I am only looking to resolve the situation and service the warranty that I offer with the roof. I have never refuse to service the roof and we pride ourselves in providing excellent customer service. I am hopeful that we will be able to rectify this situation as soon as possible. Update- We were able inspect and due the necessary repairs to the roof. We paid for the damages that occurred from leak.

Had some very bad roofing repairs completed 2 years ago that seems to only make the water leaks worse. So far summit has done repair work on 2 of our roofs that we had to break warranty to get repaired. None of the roofs repaired by summit …

Summit stands behind their installations and have provided solid customer support. Not only during installation of my TPO warehouse roof in 2002, but after the sale as well. There were pinhole punctures that were hidden. Summit responded quickly to my call for help and took extensive effort to locate the problem. Quality work and reliable support. Very impressive.

Summit did a great job replacing our roof at Spartan Tire in Brighton. We have a 15 bay auto repair facility and Brian and his crew were great with moving their equipment around when we needed to pull vehicles in and out of our shop. Our day to day business was never disrupted, and the whole job was finished in less than a week. Thanks Brian.

Brian from Summit Roofing installed a PVC membrane for my dream home a few years ago, which required 4 different areas of flat roofing. He did a good job and helped make adjustments just now when a leak was discovered that wasn't their fault, but rather that of the builder plumber and some honest misunderstanding regarding how a connection works. When he came out, he also patched up roof tears/cuts caused by HVAC contractors. And all for free. Great service with a smile goes a long way. Thanks, Summit! Highly recommended family business.

Brian and crew did a great job on our 20K sq/ft Detroit roof for a price that beat the competition. They used .6 mil pvc material which is significantly thicker than a more expensive system proposed by another co. AND, they have the same or better warranty as the competition: 15 years. On my job they cut out rotted decking, replaced it, and handled some tricky facets of our roof with great skill! They also - without charging us more - built a new deck / drain system for one our our parapet walls. Highly recommended company.

These guys did a full tear-off and roof replacement on my small commercial building. The work was exceptional, and they were a real pleasure to deal with through the whole process. Highly recommended if you are looking for a high quality, timely, and professional roofer.

Very impressed with Summit Roofing. We own multiple apartment complexes in Michigan and Mark & Brian were very detailed and worked within our budget to replace our current roof. The installation was clean and neat. This install should last many years. Don't hesitate to use their service.
