  I will start by saying I have never worked with this company however I had to leave my lane completely as one of their drivers completely cut me off and forced me out of my lane for no reason. After driver passed me he continued to cut off other people. I called Stratus to inform them of such and heard I was going to be reached out to ASAP so that I can send them the video but no one reached out.

  I am submitting this formal complaint against Arthur Knapp, owner of Stratus Roofing, for engaging in fraudulent, deceptive, and unconscionable business practices in connection with a roof replacement and related interior repairs performed for my client, Ms. Castor. Ms. Castor is an elderly African American Haitian woman, a hardworking mother of nine children who, despite working three jobs, entrusted Stratus Roofing and Mr. Knapp to act in good faith pursuant to an Assignment of Benefits (AOB) contract executed in November 2019. Rather than honoring that fiduciary responsibility, Mr. Knapp and Stratus Roofing exploited her trust and took advantage of her vulnerable position through egregious price gouging and fraudulent billing practices. As the licensed public insurance adjuster retained to represent Ms. Castor, I recovered $52,500.00 in insurance proceeds on her behalf. Stratus Roofing, however, issued an invoice for $41,430.36, allocating $13,175.26 for the roof replacement and a grossly inflated $28,255.10 for alleged interior repairs. The disparity in pricing demonstrates a deliberate scheme to overcharge and misappropriate insurance funds under the guise of legitimate construction work. This conduct constitutes not only a breach of contract and fiduciary duty but also a violation of multiple provisions of Florida Statutes, including but not limited to those governing Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices (Chapter 501, Part II, Florida Statutes), Fraudulent and Unlicensed Practices in the Construction Industry (Chapter 489, Florida Statutes), and potentially Insurance Fraud (Chapter 817, Florida Statutes). The State of Florida has since abolished the use of AOBs precisely because of widespread abuses such as this case, making Stratus Roofing’s actions emblematic of the very fraud the legislature sought to eliminate. Mr. Knapp has failed and refused to remedy the harm caused, leaving Ms. Castor financially disadvantaged and emotionally distressed. His action

  **Buyer beware** Incredibly unprofessional. Our entire area had damages caused by roofer negligence. Flooding from mesh skylight covers, leaks, busted pipes from nails, destroyed plants and objects, and so much trash and nails that were never cleaned up. We still have a porta potty sitting here 3 weeks later. None of roofers speak english and it makes them look even more incompetent. Most repairs from damages were either inadequate or outright denied. I've never repaired a roof and understand accidents happen. I can't imagine throwing objects off the roof, dropping equipment and never collecting them, and not fixing what was broken is a good sign of professionalism.

  Insurance sent them out to tarp my roof so that I could prevent further damage… they came out and tarped the complete opposite side of the damage. Leaving the damaged area exposed and allowing more rain to enter the attic and inside my house… it rains every single day here.. several inches. When I called them to let them know, the lady on the phone asked me “well what do you want us to do?” .. idk come back out and place the tarp over the correct area like you were paid to do!! Incompetent. I absolutely would not use them to fix my roof if they can’t even do something so simple. Photo attached to show the tarp and where the damage actually is.

  The guys who worked on our roof in Orlando, actually did damage to part of our home. A large chunk of stucco was broken off, leaving the wall behind exposed. They said nothing and moved on. They also left a ton of trash in our yard. …

  Hello Mr. Frey. My name is Cam Renew and I am the Director of multifamily production with Stratus Roofing. I appreciate the feedback you gave on your Google review. However, I would like to provide some clarification and insight. The “damage“ you are referring to on the corner of your building just above the garage was purposely cut out stucco due to their not being existing flashing in that area. This is a normal practice in roofing a building. If it has damaged flashing or no flashing in an area, we must cut out the stucco and install new flashing. Which is what you are seeing in your photo. A separate Stratus crew will be handling the stucco/painting to fix the stucco. Please be advised, We just removed the stucco at the end of last week 11/11. However, Due to rain forecasted, We scheduled our stucco/painting crew for Thursday 11/17; weather permitting. However, I do want to apologize the cleanup wasn’t to your satisfaction. I will make sure our crew goes back over there today to your building to do another thorough cleanup. Have a great day.

  Terrible company. Replaced the roof and since day one parts of the new roof were leaking. - It was under the same last name. We did call a few times, someone from Stratus even came out to check the issues after repair and agreed it wasn't fixed correctly and that someone else was going to come to fix it, but no one ever came. After several calls we had to give up. We'll attempt calling the number listed below again; hopefully, after this long we can finally get some actual resolution and not just false promises.

  This company does not stand behind their warranty. The Stratus managers on site do not know the job and only rely on their contractors knowing what they are supposed to do. The installation of our tile roof took 5 months and failed inspection 3 times. The best practice standards were not applied. Lots of tiles were glued on and came off in different areas within the months following. Stratus is not responding to repair requests. Manager lost temper when issues rose and surely had no pride in the quality of the work performed. They are not on Angie's list anymore. I do not recommend this company. Reply: I am afraid you are mistaking this property with another one. I am referring to your job done in 2017 on MI that was a total replacement and was fully paid. RRT & PT have been talking to you to redo the job that they have been fixing on your behalf since installation and required countless interventions up to January 2020. Your company provided a 6 year warranty that was never honored and the word is that you are getting ready to file bankruptcy. Just bad business!

  I recommend Stratus every time. And their follow-up is incredible. You are in good hands with this company. They are completely professional, and will give you a fair price They've been in business for a long time and you can rely on them!!!!!!

  Experience was pretty good at first.. However, I had some roof issues shortly after and told Ryan, but he didn’t answer. Followed up with the office so Jozue came back. They didn’t bring the needed equipment, even though I told them beforehand, so they didn’t finish. I followed up, but they never returned or responded. At the time, things seemed ok so I just monitored for the time being. Another thing to note is that they also subcontract work and most of their roofers only speak Spanish. Later on… more issues arose where I contacted the office to address it. The experience was that their staff would usually not finish and have to come back, etc. It was disappointing that it always feels like I had to stay hyper vigilant, overly communicate, and follow up more than I should.

  I live in Oak Harbour in Altamonte Springs, Florida and am on the Board for Section 4. We have be using Stratus Roof for our roofing needs since 2024. We obtained estimates from other companies and found Stratus to be fairly priced. The materials they use are high quality. They explain their process every step of the way. We met with Josh, Cameron & Edwin prior to the start of the most recent job which was 2 of our large buildings. The work was done efficiently and at the close of each day, the property was thoroughly cleaned up. Edwin was on-site throughout this process. We felt valued and confident that everything was being done right. Thank you for providing such high quality workmanship and making a big job go smoothly.

  This is the insurance co prefered roofer and they did an excellent job. They even refunded the deductable, because the insurance co paid that. Thanks Mark Mazer for being the goto person, even when it was not your area of expertize.

  Anthony Lauria came along via Slide Insurance to determine the damage and needed repairs shortly after we had a fire in our garage (during the hurricane to double down!). Before I even had a chance to dispute the 1st appraiser sent out (he merely did a quick once around, submitted his determinations, and like all claims came back far short of what truly was the replacement costs ahead!) thankfully, along come Anthony! Shortly thereafter I got a call from Mr. Anthong Lauria and he was to come out almost immediately. From the minute he arrived at the exact tyme he proposed he was off and "running" taking his tyme to look at the entire scope of the fire, smoke, water and invasive damage presented from all the previous. He knew his job better than most in most any profession I have been associated with. Not only was the thorough estimate nearly twice the previous adjusters but it was approved within a day! This showed me not only did Anthony know what he was doing but the insyde adjuster trusted him implicitly! To add to that Anthony's crew he sent out was tymely, efficient and very respectful of our property completing every task with integrity and professionalism without any shortcuts (rare)! All in all Anthony, his contracting crew and even Slide insurance (how often, ‘specially in Florida, is that the case- again mostly the trust they had in Anthony!) came though without a whimper nor me doubting one second Anthony's commitment to doing what he said he would do! Anthony’s employ should not only be grateful to have a honest professional like Anthony but reward him for his work ethic, dependability, integrity and- being above all- just a good guy!   Typically people do not write a review after a positive experience with any company, and I am probably the last person to write one period. But after my experience with Stratus I honestly had to. From the time the sun rose the morning after Hurricane Helene, and after losing the majority of our roof, Stratus Roofing was by our side. Arthur and his entire team are true professionals and guided us through the process of getting things back on track. Don't take the chance of being taken advantage of by some fly by night roofing company Stratus Roofing is the real deal!
