I worked with this company on repairing part of my flat roof. Juan (JLo) was my sales rep that came out and I highly recommend him. He's friendly, easy to understand with the scope of work and was there to offer service and communication to me throughout from beginning to the end of the project. The work got done pretty quickly. It took three days for them to complete the project. The only feedback I have for this company is ensuring their team cleans up after each job. I found a lot of screws and nails on my roof. I also saw a lot of old material in my drains, and my neighbors properties. I communicated with Juan and he had his team out first thing Monday morning to clean their job up. Then things went a bit wrong. Monsoon season came and I started having leaks in my house that I never had prior to the work. They came out immediately and admitted the work was done poorly by the crew. Took about 1 1/2 months to resolve. Once they fixed the leaks they created they also admitted there were spots on my roof that were pooling too much water but they the company started ghosting me. Text messages went unanswered and work on the pool went incomplete. The people skills of this company is friendly which is what gets you but the work created damage to my home and chaos in the schedule to get it complete and then not even completing some of the work that was incorrectly done.

Hi Jason, Thank you for the thoughtful feedback and for recognizing Juan (JLo) and the team. We’re glad to hear the project was completed quickly and that Juan kept communication clear throughout — we’ll be sure to pass along your recommendation to him! We also truly appreciate you sharing your feedback on cleanup. That’s an area we take seriously, and we’re glad Juan was able to get the crew right back out to make it right. Would recommend a different company. The scheduling and communication this company provides are subpar and make for a stressful experience.

State 48 Roofing has terrible communication across the board. It wasn’t just one employee it was four. They don’t answer their phones so you leave a message but they don’t call you back. You’re offered to text them as well so you do but they don’t respond to your texts either. Don’t go with this company. Look for another company that is customer communication focused and customer satisfaction focused as this one is not. So they need to work on that. Also they need to keep their commitments: Call when you say you’ll call and show up when you say you will. Everyone was undependable (except Alejandro, he was their rockstar.) The lack of dependability and communication has been mind-blowing. For example: providing updates, returning phone calls, returning text messages, showing up when you say you will, following up to confirm that my question/issue was addressed/resolved, show up to do a final recap and walk-through! From the sales guy to the in-house project manager to the quality control representative, 👎. After two days working on our roof, once the crew completed the job they left the house. No knock on the door stating they were done, explaining all went well, explaining leftover piles of materials would be left in my yard for pick up for another time, nothing, they just left. After three days I hadn’t heard from anybody at the company asking if I had any questions- which I do there’s still a hole exposed that needs to be addressed and fixed/filled, if I was pleased with the service, to recap all that was done (it was a big and expensive job), or to explain what happens next annually going forward (something to do with my annual check/warranty, I still don’t know). So I contacted the in-house project manager, no surprise she didn’t return my message. Contacted the salesman who told me he’d have someone call me. This person never did call me so two days later I got his phone number and called him. Turns out he’s the quality control representative and said he was on

Scheduled a week in advance for a roofing quote. Was given at time of 9a-12p window for inspection and quote. As this was a work day I had to take the morning off work to be available only for them to no call and no show. Called them to cancel and they just requested a reschedule without apology. Will be going with a different company.

Hi Chris, Thank you for your honest feedback and for the chance to check in on my team to see what transpired. It seems that it was a honest mistake on our end. Sometimes our calendar's like to have a mind of their own and a little human error, which was the case here. We do apologize for the inconvenience and hope that you were able to get your roof taken care of. Dory Harrington COO State 48 Roofing

I was quoted the price of a brand new SUV to redo my whole roof after just 5 minutes of flying a drone over my house, without setting foot on it or even touching it, which I find disconcerting. The sales pitch was pushy, asking about my budget and timeline, and insisting on their financing options, which they claimed were unique to them. They insisted that they were the only ones who knew how to do things properly and were there to educate me, which should raise a red flag for anyone. They were not interested in fixing my problem; their only goal was to redo the entire roof. My guess is that they need only one naive person out of ten to say yes for their business to run. This is based on my own experience, and perhaps the job is done properly, but I would not even consider someone’s quote after an introduction like that.

Hi Franck, Sorry to hear about your experience. I checked to see if we have your name in our system and I do not see anything. As your experience does not align with the way we do things here, I am very concerned and would like to take corrective actions or it may be that you may have us confused with another roofer? If you would please give me a call 602-309-1591 or email me at dory@state48roofing.com with the proposal provided that would be helpful. Thank you Dory Harrington- COO - State 48 Roofing

I had state 48 out to do an inspection in the middle of my escrow on the home I was buying I was super impressed with their response, the inspector called me right away, he came out I had expressed another roofer had told us it needed a full replacement. He told us we had 4-6 years left. And gave us a quote for about $900 worth of work, which we hired them to do. We closed on the house and a couple weeks later had a second roofer out from 48 for another inspection we noticed a part of the roof that was questionable and may need a repair that the first guy missed. The second roofer informed us we actually do need a full replacement and provided a quote. Had we known we needed a full replacement we would have negotiated those repair expenses into our BINSR and the previous owner could have at least split it with us. And we would have not wasted $900 which no…state 48 will not refund because they “did the work” … yeah you also cost me about 30K. They came off with such a strong professional start and it ended with us feeling like they didn’t care at all. Especially to pay for work that was torn up by another roofer just a couple weeks later. Just a waste of money and lack of accountability that they led us astray when we trusted them.

If half-stars were an option, this would be a solid 4.5. From start to finish, State 48 Roofing impressed us with their thoroughness, honesty, and communication—including how they handled some incidental damage (a supplier delivery issue and a scuffed garage door from the install crew). TJ's inspection and documentation were excellent, and his clear explanation of the repairs needed is a big part of why we hired them. The only ding: this job required more back-and-forth repairs and coordination than we'd hoped for. But the team stepped up, took full responsibility, and made things right. A special thank-you to Shannon, who kept everything organized and communicated proactively along the way.

James T. did a great inspection of my roof, took lots of pictures, and showed me my options - including repairs vs. a full roof replacement, which I found very valuable given most salesmen are trying to make the most money they can. State48 is a great, straightforward company to work with and you have to appreciate that!

State48 Roofing came through for us in a big way! After having multiple people fail to identify the root cause of a leak, Jason Payne and his crew member stepped in. Jason was able to quickly perform a water test and finally pinpoint exactly where the leak was coming from. They arrived right on time, maintained total professionalism, and provided excellent service and feedback. I highly recommend State 48 Roofing to anyone in the Phoenix area looking for a reliable, honest, and professional company. Thank you, State48!
