  Safe Cover came out to our house in Gresham, OR and did a full tear-off and install in one day. These guys are not messing around! Professional and efficient work from start to finish at a fair price. Highly recommend for anyone needing a new roof. I won’t go anywhere else. Thank you Safe Cover!

  Kobie came out and gave me an estimate for my roof, he was younger lookin and wasn't to sure at first but that young man had an answer for every question I had. I've not seen that kind of professionalism in most people let alone a young tradesman! Definitely would recommend working with kobie if you want reassurance in a timely fashion.

Skylights in a Hazel Dell or Five Corners home often outlast two full roof replacements. The glazing and flashing around them do not. A skylight has two distinct components that degrade on different timelines. The curb (the frame the skylight sits on) is typically wood wrapped in metal flashing. This assembly must be re-flashed every time the roof is replaced, even when the skylight itself is still performing. The glazing and seals, depending on manufacturer grade, typically lose condensation resistance between 15 and 25 years after installation. Clark County's wet falls and cold winter nights create a specific failure pattern: condensation forms on the interior glazing and drains to the curb, where it contacts the wood frame through aging butyl tape. Wood that stays intermittently damp in this way begins to compress and hold moisture against the flashing. The resulting leak usually appears at the interior ceiling trim rather than at the center of the glass, and is commonly misread as a shingle failure on the adjacent roof plane. When getting a roof estimate, ask the contractor to assess the skylight curb and counter-flashing separately. A shingle replacement that does not address the curb is an incomplete scope on any Hazel Dell or Five Corners home with a skylight more than 15 years old.7 hours ago
