  They hire subs to do all there install work, the sub contractor hold liability for 2 years than rivercity picks up the remaining warranty. Shady.... go thru company who have inhouse guys. Better.

  Extremely loud and discourteous workers, who totally ignore city noise ordinances. My building is getting roofing work done by River City Roofing, and while the residents were informed that there would be construction noise, it has been truly excessive. Today, Sunday the 25th, the workers have been banging on the roof and shaking the building all day, from morning until past 6:30PM (they’re still going) despite Portland noise ordinances specifying no loud construction work allowed on Sundays. Additionally, on weekdays they will sometimes work until 8PM or later, again disobeying noise ordinances. (They also have already exceeded their given timeline of 2-3 weeks, though I did get this estimate secondhand from my landlord) Of course roofing work is bound to be loud, but these workers seem to have no concern for the people living here and nearby, as evidenced by their ignoring noise ordinances and seemingly just working whatever hours suit them.

  Hi Austin. I can imagine that is pretty frustrating for you. Roofing can be loud from inside the dwelling. We have been working tirelessly to get the building complete, as requested by the property owner- even coming in on Sundays to get the project finished as quickly as possible to meet that request. It is not my guys’ intention to disturb you in any way. They are just trying to go the extra mile to get the project completed as quickly as possible to get out of everyone’s hair. Trust, we typically don’t want to be working on Sundays either. We are simply trying to follow the wishes of our customer and I am sorry that has put you in an undesirable place. Please know that we are going as fast as we can to tie up the project.

  Can't recommend this company due to dishonest dealings. We were not told subcontractors were doing the work. We hired RCR because of their reviews and BBB rating; subcontractor company that did the work, had poor ratings and would not have been hired. When we asked that only RCR staff fix/finish the job of the subs, one guy showed up to do some work. We appreciated that - but he couldn't finish all the work. Guess who showed up a few days later - another crew of subs, with crooked magnetic signs to cover up their company logo! Worst part - as I was listening via speaker phone to the sales person talking to the last subcontractor, I heard her say "tell them you work for River City Roofing." Too much dishonesty. Sales person couldn't get our final payment fast enough and get out of our neighborhood. I suggest you don't call this company.

  Hi Jeff, It makes me really sad as an owner to read your review, but I would like to begin with saying I am grateful that you did. No company wants to receive a 1-star review, but in doing so it can only help us to improve. I hold our standards very high- undoubtedly, that’s why we have earned the reviews that drew you to us in the first place. I understand your confusion with our subcontractors. As a general contractor specializing in roofing, I think it is important to train my support staff on the communication around this with our customers who may be confused with our process. Yes, we use subcontractors- the same few on every job we do here in Portland- which is normal practice for the leading roofing companies here in the Pac NW. I hope it helps to put you at ease knowing that they have been fully vetted by myself personally, are completely licensed with CCB, bonded and insured- listing River City Roofing on their insurance certificate, even (I take this process very seriously). I only have contractors whose work has consistently proven to be very good-as I put my name on every roof we install. Every roof is thoroughly inspected for quality control and documented. I am sad that your experience was not wonderful, as I truly do care about your project like it is my own house. I reviewed your completion report and the roof looks beautiful; I only wish that you felt your experience was the same. I want to apologize that it wasn’t, and thank you for giving us a few topics to exercise into our team training to prevent this from happening in the future. Stacy

  Very attentive to detail. You can trust Rich. He looks out for his customers AND his workers. We have a solid roof we can trust and our business went to a reputable company. Go ahead, fix your leaky roof. Ours was ROTTEN and River City Roofing got it fixed up better than new with VERY competitive pricing. We got 3 quotes. Go with these guys.

  Their work quality was great. They were highly communicative, which is a must for me. And I appreciated them working on my behalf with my insurer to get the maximum amount covered, especially since the roof was in really bad shape. l would definitely use them again.

  Needed emergency tarping on my roof, they worked with me on a price, and Cameron was here within hours. I cant say it was cheap, but no roofing work is. You get what you pay for, and I got fast, excellent work, on a sunday. Would definitely hire again.
