  Communication with office staff was very rushed throughout the project. We understand that the weather and scheduling are priorities for roof repairs but the changes to our original estimate came fast and furious throughout. Original estimate approx 15k - final bill approx 24k.(!) We are not saying the extra work wasn't necessary, we just would have appreciated a more accurate estimate. Not super confident with the gutter install though they promise to take care of any issues that may come up. Fine print says they do not inspect attic space before writing estimates, maybe that would have given them more information regarding the amount of boards needed. We were given a small discount of a few hundred dollars and a couple of no charge for boards.

When those conditions are uncovered, we communicate the necessary changes as quickly as we can so the home is properly protected and the work is completed to a safe standard. That said, we hear your concern about how those updates were communicated. We strive to be clear, timely, and thorough, and we regret that the process felt rushed or overwhelming. That’s not the experience we want for our customers, and we will continue working to improve how we handle these situations. Regarding pricing, we did our best to balance addressing the necessary repairs while also being fair to you and to our company. We provided discounts and covered some additional materials where we could, but we understand that the overall increase was still significant. We also want to reassure you that we stand behind our workmanship. If you have any concerns about the gutter installation—or anything else—please don’t hesitate to reach out.   Had a roof done just under 10 years ago. Had to have a new one as venting went into the attic instead of outside causing moisture. They came out as it was still under warranty and did the bare minimum to right the wrong. I do not recommend them.

  I hired Portland Roofing Company to install gutters on my home. While I am not an expert in gutter installation and initially paid their invoice in good faith, a subsequent inspection by another roofing company revealed multiple issues with how the gutters were installed. When I contacted Portland Roofing Company to review the work, they declined to come out and took no responsibility for the substandard installation. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. I only recommend businesses that stand behind the quality of their work and are willing to address and correct mistakes.

We are very sorry you were unhappy. we tried to explain that the gutters were no longer under warranty after years had already gone by, and there was no evidence of any water drainage issues. you had prior storm damage you reported when a tree hit the gutter, which could have contributed to whatever was going on, but in our research we found old pic prior to the reroof, and the old gutter had the same tilt/gap in the gutter. any other competitor can have an opinion to try to get a job, but we think it’s just the way the house was structured. We saw no reason for any action other than pest person, because your primary complaint was a gap where bees were getting in, and pest related issues is not something that we do. We advised possibly getting a larger piece of flashing to close the gap, and you declined. I wish there were more we could have done, but we tried to offer solutions. We will continue to work on ways to improve and grow to and problem solve to better help customers in the future, and if we think of anything else, we will reach out. Thank you.

  They did my neighbors roof. it looks great. They also used my lawn as a convenient turn around for their dumptruck driving around on it multiple times. I have it on video. Update in response to owner message: I apologize, as it turns out I work from 8am until 630 pm, and only found my yard driven on when I got home and subsequently checked my security cameras. I am unfortunately unable to make personal calls during my shifts. I am sorry that you are being held accountable publicly, if that is uncomfortable, I suggest reminding your crews not to behave in a way that would be embarrassing. I feel no obligation to allow you any opportunity for anything. The remedy, is to not drive across property you don't own or aren't contracted to work on. Many people understand the common etiquette, "If it's not yours, don't touch it (or in this case drive a dumptruck across it" So you can see I have added photos, your crew all up on my property, driving across my lawn, and later across my plants on the far side of the driveway.

  My experience start to finish has been horrendous. The bid they gave me was around 8k (including my detached garage). My house is 1000 square feet. They did state that it may go up based on replacing plywood. I know the roof is old, and I was expecting maybe another 3k or so. They came back with a change order of nearly $7,000 in additional costs (Excluding my garage, which was included in the original bid). Needless to say, this was very upsetting, to have the bid nearly double. This was also quite confusing that the change order excluded my garage, only for them to try and tack on hidden costs at a later date. Kelli, the owner, stated that we can remove the garage (at no charge) so I agreed, saving myself approximately 4k total (for a single car detached garage). Kelli stated I must sign NOW or they’ll stop work. A rain storm was coming, they had my roof off, and I had no choice but to sign. The same day I signed the change order for the house I contacted several general contractors for a second opinion(s) on the high cost they were charging. EVERY Contractor said that what they were installing is excessive as well as the charge is excessive. I requested (prior to any work being completed) that they not install any additional vents and to put back the 5 original as stated in the contract. Kelli refused. I asked for measurements of the roof because it seemed like they order excessive amounts of plywood. Kelli refused. They over ordered plywood and installed 7 additional vents, (1 kitchen and 2 bath) in a 1 bath home, 12 vents total. Why does my 1 bath house need 2 bath vents? Kelli had no answers. During installation they ripped my fireplace flu THROUGH THE CEILING, disconnecting it from the fireplace. Kelli refused to pay for any damages. Finally when they were completed, I received the bill with 7 days to pay. When I reviewed the bill, it did not include ANY breakdown and referred to an ‘attachment’ that was not included (balance due $8,216.4

  Although we think there is a lot of incorrect info, and misunderstanding that occurred, we feel that really had to do with communication. All the office staff, and roofers, the foreman, and operations, as well as management, at Portland Roofing Company, will own, any hand we had in that….and for that, we are very sorry and apologize. We felt truly awful that you had extensive repairs, and to that extent, we did offer to cancel the garage free of any penalty, off the project, to save money and focus on the main house. We try to come up with creative solutions for jobs when presented with such challenges. We thank you for the learning experience, as 2020 was hard on all of us, and we were understaffed at that time, but we will use that as a tool to grow and change to a brighter 2021. Regarding the flue pipe, the roofers put the flue pipe back, and a brand-new flashing around it, free of charge, but our offer still stands to pay for the $580 damages you asked, for the flu pipe. Please let us know if there is anything else, we can do to assist you, and sorry for your poor experience with our company. At the end of the day, we are all human, and all any of us can do, is to try to learn, and grow from any experience, good or bad, and try to be better today, than we were yesterday.

  We’ve hired Portland Roofing for two major home projects, and their consistency and reliability keep us coming back. They did a full roof replacement for us during COVID. Overall, we were so impressed with the quality of the work that they were the first ones we thought of when we needed more work done years later. During the roof installation, we had a minor hiccup where the crew didn't show up one day and left early another without notice—turns out management was completely unaware. As soon as we informed them, they stepped up immediately, resolved the issue, and gave us a discount for the inconvenience. That level of accountability and customer care really set them apart. When we hired them back last year for a full gutter replacement, they were absolutely phenomenal! They completed the entire project in just one day, and their cleanup and care for our property were outstanding. Highly recommend Portland Roofing—they do great work, stand behind their service, and earn your repeat business!

  Portland Roofing was a great company to work with. My original roof had 3 layers of different materials which was very heavy on the house which was built in 1906. New Barge Boards needed with repair around the chimney along with proper venting and trim boards for a more finished look. I highly recommend Portland Roofing as they cleaned up everyday and good people to work with.

  My roof was replaced by Portland Roofing about 12 years ago. I enjoyed the process and the work was done in a timely manner. I have since had this company clean moss from the roof and consulted with them regarding another issue. They have always been helpful and great to work with.

  After getting 4 other estimates I decided on Portland roofing because they didn't try to sell me stuff I didn’t need, did suggest things I did need that the other companies didn’t notice. One company didn’t even get on the roof. They were priced fairly, did a very thorough job, completed job in timely manner, used quality materials and did a great job cleaning up.   Had a leaky roof in the middle of a cold, wet, and windy winter. After trying several roofing companies, who couldn't be bothered to return my calls, Portland Roofing came out took a look, gave me a quote, and despite very bad weather finished our roof. The crew did a great job and were very responsive to concerns we had during the storms while the roof was being redone.
