  Had our roof replaced by Penfolds 15 yrs ago, with a 30 year warranty on materials and 10 years on workmanship. After leaks through our ceiling in multiple areas, I went into the attic only to discover that the plywood was black and completely soaked. Penfolds insisted that we pay $350 to come and check it, even though I was a previous customer and their website indicates free estimates. Other companies offered no cost for this and we chose to go elsewhere. It turned out that the ridge vent Penfolds installed was not cut properly nor did they provide adequate ventilation for the roof to perform as it should have. I do not recommend this company for your roof replacement.

  Absolute HORRIBLE service! We waited four months before canceling our service with this company. Our roof was so bad water was leaking through our light sockets and the repair was urgent and still is. They told us they’d get it done …

  In February of this year, we paid a deposit so our leaky roof. We were told that the roof will be replaced in June. When we emailed them in July, we were told that the person who dealt with our file took another job and the file fell through the cracks. We were told that our roof will be replaced in August. When we emailed them about having a specific date, they never responded to our emails. In late August, we were told that because of the hot weather, they were falling behind. Then we were told in September that the head of the crew injured his knee, which means another delay. Then we were told that our roof is complicated (it is not), and it requires a speciality crew. Hence, another delay. At this point, we had been waiting for seven months without even been given a specific date. When we finally pulled the plug, someone with a high rank to apologise and give me more excuses without taking any responsibility about what happened. He also told me that they could start on October 10, give or take. Given how we were treated, we passed. I just find the who experience extremely unprofessional.

The delays you mentioned impacted a few other customers as well. We do our best to manage unforeseen circumstances. The type of roof you have is called a gambrel. Although gambrel roofs appear simple on the surface, due to the steep pitch and limited working areas they can be a challenge to reroof. These types of roofs aren’t overly common, so we intentionally selected one of our crews who have experience tackling steep slopes and this style of roof to complete your project so that it is done to our standards. We wish you the best in completing your project.

  First time in Canada that I have faced such disrespectful people. Roof renovation employers used inappropriate comments about me even treating my husband with whom I was on the phone of "... your European guy" because I had the audacity to ask if they touched an ethernet cable on you since I could no longer connect via the internet to work from home. Always courteous in my conversations I received misogynistic comments and people who spoke in their language to insult me.

  I used this company to put a new roof my house. After 6 years, my roof started leaking. They blamed me for choosing a lesser/cheaper option. The choice of roofing materials was based on the expert recommendation of this company. They have not honoured their warranty because of this and I have to, again, replace my entire roof. I would not recommend a company that does not stand by their products, recommendations or installation.

  I'm sorry to hear about your experience, Denise. What I can see is that your original roof was constructed with a shiplap deck. On the contract, the option to replace the shiplap deck with a plywood deck was rejected. Shiplap roofs are known to create issues, this is why roof tile manufacturers don't warranty their product when installed on a shiplap deck, which is beyond our control. Although not covered by warranty, we did come out to do some repair work at no cost as a customer service measure.

  I would not recommend Penfolds roofing. They will be redoing my roof for the third time this year. When I brought up issues, I was lied to and told parts of my roof were installed correctly. I brought in a roof inspector to prove that my roof and aspects of my roof were installed wrong. After their second try of redoing my roof, the inspector once again proved it was installed wrong. Even with the report, Penfolds said that the roof was fine and that they wouldn’t replace it again. They damaged my house, and left a mess all around it, twice. I have had to take Penfolds for to court now. They have tried to bully me, they have mocked me, they have caused a great deal of stress. Do not use them, unless you plan on having someone supervise them through your the process. If you have used them, get your roof inspected, because they may say it’s right, but it might not be. Worst company

We work really hard to provide superior service that our customers can rely on and it’s disheartening to know that this wasn’t the case in your situation. Unfortunately our installation team didn’t apply the proper nailing pattern on the first job and we understand a mistake like that can be very upsetting. For this reason we were extremely responsive and keen to have it done properly for you. The re-roof was installed with a proprietary Penfolds’ shingle and nailing pattern which is something the inspector wasn’t familiar with. With that said, we are taking every action possible to rectify this situation, including re-roofing your house for a third time even though the nailing pattern adheres to our specifications. The reason behind this decision is that we truly want to ensure that each and every one of our customers is happy with the final product. We do find it a bit discouraging that while we’ve tried at every turn to ensure you are happy, we have been blamed for additional damages to your home that were documented pre-existing issues. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience. Hopefully we can rectify the situation soon.

  Penfolds are the best. We had them install our new roof and gutters. They were extremely professional and did a great job. I cannot recommend them enough !

  It was great to get a new roof before the winter rain set in and it was a smooth process working with Penfolds Roofing. The sales person was helpful with choosing options and setting up the timeframe. When the crew arrived they were friendly and professional. I felt comfortable with them having access to the house for the bathroom and breaker panel. They kept the job site tidy with a minimum of disruption for me. The finished product was great and they cleaned up well after finishing. I’m really happy with the end result. I recommend these folks.

  I have had an amazing experience with them, especially Kevin their estimator. He was extremely honest in explaining the options available to me while never applying pressure towards an upsell and was in constant contact with me throughout the process, offered honest feedback including opportunities for me to save money - and I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision. I highly recommend them

  Penfolds Roofing what a great experience to deal with this company. Thanks to my neighbour I had the pleasure dealing with them, I am glad that I decided to give them a shot.   Penfolds completed our re-roofing a number of years ago, and following some challenging original house design flaws, designed a secondary flat roof drain system that works 100%. The replacement roof is now 14 years old and looks good. We recently experienced a minor roof leak, associated with PVC furnace vents, which was a challenge to locate and fix, but Penfolds was up to the task and we are now dry again. Specifically Ron Frisk was a plesure to deal with on BOTH the original re-roof and this recent repair. Hats off to Penfolds, and hats off to Ron. Thanks

Interesting to note that at Penfolds we replace the part that connects the roof to the heat outlet, but if it is the heat outlet itself that is leaking it's not part of the roof we replace.   Penfolds installed a new roof on my garage. Best roofing company I have ever used. From the initial estimate through the installation, they were all professional and true to their word. No bad surprises. The installers were extremely polite, worked efficiently and were careful not to damage plants surrounding the garage. They did an excellent job and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to others.

  A crew stopped by after dealing with neighbors roof and offered to replace recalled flashing free of charge. I think that was outstanding service and professional attitude! Bravo!!

  From start to finish the team was professional, honest and upfront about the work to be completed. They called to discuss any findings once the job had started before proceeding. They were fast and completed our roof in 3 days. I would highly recommend using Penfolds. Fair pricing and great warranty.

  Penfolds replaced the roofs of our 63 townhouse complex in 2008. This was after extensive research and interviews with other stratas who had already replaced their roofs in our area, Penfold's won our confidence and the job. They were so great to work with and their team was courteous and professional in every way. They've stood behind their products and workmanship. We've only had one issue pop up with a faulty vent cap and Tumi and Ron in the office were quick to send a team at no charge. Their technicians Ian and Phil went above and beyond fixing the little problem and making sure the rest of the roof was issue free. I recommend Penfolds and these 4 individuals for maintaining integrity in their company's promise to stand by their work. As a follow up a year later they are still standing by their word and no hassle fix to replace any reoccurring issue with this vent cap product.

  High winds, heavy rains, and unwelcome water in our dining room. Called Penfolds Roofing Vancouver early Tuesday and was encouraged by receptionist Tumi's attentive care and responsiveness. Experienced and personable roofers Phil and Ian arrived next morning. They listened attentively, thoroughly inspected the leak area, attic and roof, and, in a few hours, scrupulously fixed the problem. We appreciate Penfold's employees in the office and on the roof; we applaud their prompt, efficient teamwork, industry and expertise. Thank you very much!

  Value, Integrity, Professionalism. These are words that I thought I would never think of when it came to this industry, and yet here I am writing them due to the wonderful experience, that I had with the Penfolds family. I had become weary of trying to find a contractor that could assist me with my home roofing project. I had interviewed a number of roofing contractors prior to contacting Penfolds, and had become very uncomfortable with the vagueness of their approach, over pricing and lack of knowledge towards my general questions. With Penfolds, they had redefined what every homeowner wants to experience with a roofing company . This company exhibited true value in the quality and competitive pricing in the variety of their product line. Not only is their workmanship and products  guaranteed with a transferable warranty if my home was sold, but they stand behind each home project with integrity. The company is well organized and had displayed professionalism at every level of the process I went through from initial interview, product review, quote, contract review, signing, pre inspection, starting my roof job, daily clean up, daily field supervisor inspection, final job review and closure. I had initially contacted their company online and was contacted within a few days by Chris McCready, Technical Advisor. He met with me promptly at my home, went over all of my roofing concerns and took the time to photograph and to document my home in detail. Chris was able to study my project and to recommend  product options that suited my needs, for the specific area of the city that I live in of Coquitlam. What I found absolutely stunning about this company is the depth of what they can do for problem areas of my roof.  I had explained to Chris that I had an overhang that was too short in the face of my home, and 3 other areas that had water overflow problems which damaged my sub fascia and face fascia.
