  Paid $600+ for a paid assessment, got less details than what I got through free quotes from other companies. Complete waste of time and money. All I got were just pictures of issues I said i already know exist, and some excuse about how they couldnt inspect anything due to the moss, which I also warned them about before they showed up. There's also obviously very poor communication between the admin and the site folks. Not even half of what I was told I'd be getting in the report was actually included. Also they showed up 5 hours earlier than the agreed time, which caused a huge amount of headache. I followed up multiple times for them to finish the job I paid to do but all I got were just some silly excuses.

  Dear Jae, You reached out to us to get an assessment done on the roof of your newly purchased house. We notified you of the cost for the assessment report. You agreed and explained that you had not yet taken possession of the property, however, you gave us the green light to assess the roof. We received, via email, confirmation that the current homeowner was very flexible on the time we could visit the house. On the morning of the visit, we adjusted our schedule a few hours earlier than expected and emailed you about the time adjustment.  As previously agreed, we conducted a thorough inspection of the roof. Our assessment revealed significant issues, including extensive moss overgrowth, multiple concerns and many improper DIY repairs throughout the roof. These findings were detailed in our 7 page report provided to you, along with our recommendation that an extensive cleaning is necessary to identify any further underlying issues. Regarding the scheduling, we adjusted our visit time based on the confirmation we received that the homeowner was flexible. Furthermore, we applied a $100 discount to your final balance as a gesture of goodwill. We pride ourselves on providing honest and transparent services to our valued clients. We completed the requested service on time (Earlier than expected) and under budget. We communicated our rate and schedule adjustment, and we followed through on our promise to provide you with the service you requested.

  There is not zero star! They damaged our driveway and it has been over two years and several emails back and forth and nothing has been done. Damage is getting worse and we are still waiting for them to send someone to repair the damage they did.

  Hello Shalen, I can understand your frustrations with this matter but there have been several attempts to resolve this. SSR has visited the property multiple times with contractors to assess and provide repair estimates. Unfortunately these attempts have been met with very aggressive and rude communication. Again, I can sympathize with you but it's not fair to treat people this way who are simply trying to help you resolve this issue. I have spoken with SSR and they take full responsibility and have offered to repair the driveway. It's up to you to proceed or not. I hope you understand and can make the right decision to move forward.

  I had a leak and called Canuck Roofing based on the high reviews. The first email informed me that I need to approve the cost for the first hour of the repair using standard materials and usually most leaks are repaired within the hour. If more time is needed the will be a per hour cost. I agreed and the crew came a few days later. After 10 minutes on my roof they put a tarp around my chimney and told me that I need to replace my chimney flashing. The worker told me he doesn't have tools or materials with him and he would have done if he had them. They said they will provide me with a quote for the repair. The next day I got an invoice for $500 + for the repair. I called to make sure this was not a mistake. They said that it is not a mistake and that the tarp is considered a repair. I paid the invoice even though I think it is ridiculous. Then they send me quote for $1698 + tax for the repair. Now I don't like giving bad reviews especially to local small businesses but I hope they take this in consideration and don't take advantage of people when in need after a leak. I ended up going with another company for half the price and they did an incredible job. Update: After reading the response from the owner. You mentioned on your response that the cost of the tarp/call out fee would be discounted from the final bill. If that was the case I would have gone with your company but when I called in I was told that it was not the case.

  Hello Thomas, I would just like to start by thanking you for your review. After reviewing the file I would like to provide some clarification. 1. Yes, we have a call out fee for our leak investigations and we have a high success rate of repairing roofs within a responsible time frame. This typically saves our clients in the long run. 2. Unfortunately, the repair required to permanently fix your chimney leak would require far more time than a just a couple of hours. 3. We recommended a tarp to mitigate further damages into your home until we could provide you with an estimate for a permanent solution. This cost would be discounted on the final repair bill. 4. You initially contacted us via email on Sunday Jan 28th. Our office is closed on Sundays. We responded to your email Monday Jan 29th at 6:54 am and had our service team onsite the same day. 5. I’m happy you got your chimney work completed. I hope the work was done to industry standards. Some contractors don’t properly remove the old counter flashing or cut out the mortar for the installation of new flashing. New counter flashing on a brick chimney should be installed in overlapping levels going up the roof line and installed between the bricks within the mortar. Additional mortar is required, not just with caulking. For your triple flue chimney, you would have received minimum of 20 individual pieces of flashing. There is also a good amount of site protection required to protect your roof. We are here to help, support, educate and provide quality services for our clients, NOT take advantage of them. I’m sorry you felt this way as that’s the last thing we want any client to feel. I hope the contractor you chose was able to provide you with a quality installation.

  I just completed a roof replacement project with Canuck Roofing. My project involved a house and a large garage. Julian was my project manager. Along with a competitive price, Julian sold me with the comprehensive assessment, recommendations, and being very honest. I didn't feel like he was a salesman but was really giving a professional opinion. The project itself went very well. Gill and his team were courteous, efficient and performed great craftsmanship. What also impressed me was the cleanup job they did. After the project finished it was like they hadn't been here. If you need a replacement like me, I recommend giving Canuck Roofing a call, and I'm sure they won't disappoint.

  Very professional company from Scott our advisor who did the on-site evaluation to the two technicians, Oliver and Kevin who completed all the maintenance work as ordered. Friendly and responsive, the service staff you enjoy have coming to do work on the house. Great followup too with photos of jobs completed on the roof as we can’t get up there ourselves.
