  If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. We live 10 minutes off a major road in North Vancouver. Saw lots of good reviews online for Penfolds with lots of happy customers. Phoned the number on the website and was connected to what I believe to be a call center. Gave all the details on our location, type of roof, etc. and was told a rep would call me back in 2-3 business days. Norm from the North Vancouver location called as expected and we set up an appointment to provide an onsite repair or replace quote with address confirmed and appointment set for next day. I needed to juggle my schedule to make the appointment time work, but wanted move quickly. Received a call *5mins after the scheduled meeting time to tell me its difficult to get crews to come to our location and he would not be quoting any work. I understand that a number of businesses may be having staffing shortages or need to soften employee expectations to improve retention, but were talking about a small flat roof in the district of North Vancouver. Setting the staffing issue aside, the key reason I'm writing this review is the lack of professionalism. Penfolds had 2 opportunities to turn this job down and not book the appointment. They waited until after the established meeting time to tell me they weren't coming. That should be a red flag for any prospective customer. It's fine that Penfolds doesn't want the work, someone will. But, word of caution to prospective customers - aside from cost, timing, scheduling, crew availability and professionalism should all be things to watch for.

  Thanks for your feedback, Tracy. We do our utmost to return calls in a timely fashion. When our Technical Advisor saw your inquiry he was in between appointments and didn’t properly look on Google Maps to see your exact location. You can imagine properties are more commonly in our service area and this is a rare circumstance which caught him a little off guard. Later when he looked it up, he realized the difficulty that we would have servicing that specific area With respect, we must point out that “10 minutes off a major road in North Vancouver” should more accurately be stated to include the property location in Indian River, which is on Forest Service Roads 90 minutes outside of Vancouver, past Indian Arm. Our inability to take on your project was not related to staffing issues. This is a very rare situation and due to the location, we’ve experienced issues with our suppliers getting product to site. We wish you the best in finding a suitable company to help with your project.

  Our experience with Penfolds was less that satisfactory, to say the least. The company was inefficient from booking the appointment, completing the job in a timely manner, and with cleaning up after the job. The communication with the company to arrange the dates required MANY follow ups on our part and last minute rescheduling on their end. When it came time to do the job, the dates got switched and extended twice, from what we were originally told (having the job FINALLY done after a 6 day span when we were told it would be done in two consecutive days). Additionally, the clean up after the job was VERY poor. There were roofing nails left in the grass, on the deck, and on the driveway (causing the need for two tire patches in our vehicle). Additionally, our deck was so covered in debris that we needed to do a better cleaning job before we could even walk out there, and there we chunks of old roofing material and garbage (including from the installer's lunch!) in the yard. I would NOT recommend this company.

  We had a horrible experience with Penfolds. They were extremely quick to provide a quote and arrange a start date but unfortunately the project took much longer than quoted, the final bill was nearly double the quotation and there was nails left all over the property. The standard over promise and under deliver. They get the work done, but if your looking for an honest company, keep looking.

  This company disconnected the B vent from our furnace when they re did the roof. I contacted them after the roof was done to express concern about extra heat in one of our walls. They told me it was nothing and everything was ok. My grandmother was living in the home and was slowly being poisoned with carbon monoxide from the furnace venting into the house. We all felt ill frequently in the house. A few years later we have done a renovation and my contractor discovered the disconnected b vent. When I contacted the company the manager for North Vancouver yelled at me and hung up the phone. No apology. No offer of compensation. No admittance that it may have been their fault. Unacceptable. His negligence literally could have killed my family. Do not use this company ever. All they care about is making profit. They hire people who are not well trained and do not know what they are doing.

  I had a phenomenal experience with Penfolds. I hired them to replace my old, cracking and crumbling cedar shake rook with their EcoRoof product, and I'm extremely happy with the results. Throughout the process, Jason (Sales / Project Manager) was very clear on what the process would look like, what it would cost, what the timeline would be, and all the other key info I wanted to know. During the actual roof replacement itself, Jessie and crew worked very, very hard on a very large roof with many different sections to get the job done. I'm really impressed with how quickly they were able to complete everything, and the quality of work they performed is top notch. Overall, I could not recommend Penfolds more. 10/10 overall.

  Penfolds Roofing offers a broad array of products including Class A fire rated roofing, which is important in a forested community such as Bowen Island. Jason was great answering questions and looking after administrative details and Greg's crew worked professionally to remove old cedar shakes and install new asphalt on the house, garage, and two sheds. I recommend Penfolds. Photos include before and after.

  Always a pleasure dealing with Penfolds and especially Jason. The team was professional, quick and turned out a beautiful product. Eduardo and the Ziplock metal team were excellent to have on site. We are very happy with the quality of the roof we chose with Penfold’s help. Can’t say enough things good things about going with the metal roof.

  Penfolds did a great job. Jason took a great deal of time answering questions and helping us make the best decision about which roof we needed. We are very happy with the eco-tiles we chose. Jessie and his roofing team were fast, efficient and courteous. They cleaned up everyday making it easy to stay in the house during the whole process. It was all done in a week.

  Jason assisted us with a new Lifetime EcoRoof from Penfolds Roofing. The EcoRoof is quiet and looks amazing on our home. Jason also assisted us with a 6.5kW Solar installation including a Tesla PowerWall3 Battery for Home power backup. The PowerWall3 also feeds electricity back to the grid automatically.   The team on my project was the best. Fast- efficient- top notch job. They cleaned the site each day. They really went above and beyond. The work was done in less than two days. Highly recommend Penfolds!

  Jason and the entire Penfolds team was fantastic! The organization, care, professionalism, and follow through on our new roof project was incredible. It was a big investment and decision for us and we couldn't be happier with the result! Roof looks great, and Jason went above and beyond to make sure our trees were protected and everything was left as clean as when they arrived! Really appreciated the great communication and followup!

  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Penfolds’ EcoRoof. It’s the most durable product on the market with a lifetime warranty. Jason provided exceptional customer service during the entire process. Greg and his hard working roofing crew completed the installation with excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. The work site was cleaned up at the end of EVERYDAY - this is a professional crew. Don’t waste your time or money with any other installer or product. Penfolds is the BEST choice.

  We’re about 6 months after install of our new Ecoroof. We replaced an old cedar roof and I’m thrilled with the results. We wanted to keep the cedar “look” and styling, but with something more robust and easy to clean. 10/10 results. Coming to an end of the first winter with it and it has relieved so much stress. The old cedar roof took me days of back breaking labour to clean (we have two massive trees that drop debris onto our roof), while this roof sheds debris so easily. 3 days is now down to a quick 20 min job with a leaf blower. The roof looks fantastic and many neighbours have commented on how good it looks! Penfolds was very easy to deal with - good communication, punctual, hardworking crew, and a good clean-up. I’d happily recommend them and use them again. They made what is a stressful purchase into a smooth process.
