  Terry owner of Affordable quality roofing and Joes contracting has very bad business practices. They use mix and match products which is not allowed and roofs do not qualify for warranties. All of there work is subbed out to other crews who don’t get paid and come back to houses knocking doors and causing homeowners headache. There are a lot of companies out there who do quality work (and the pricing is far more reasonable then these guys) and make sure all labor gets paid and care about there clients investment versus aqrltd.

  WARNING: DO NOT USE AFFORDABLE ROOFING When we hired Affordable Roofing to replace our roof, they were not the cheapest quote but they seemed professional. They promised a 10 year guarantee and said if there was any problems they would fix it. They did a shoddy job and do not live up to their promise. We have had leaks, you call them several times and they promise they will come and fix and they never show up. As a Business Owner I like to support other local owned businesses, however NOT Affordable Roofing!

  Use with caution! Their original work was actually fine and they completed it quickly but if there are any issues, good luck! Their warranty, despite what they may tell you verbally and written on their contract, is worth less than the paper it's written on. Chased them for months to come back and fix a problem area that was leaking. They had repaired our roof 3 years prior (had a 10 year warranty on the job). They wouldn't return phone calls, texts or emails. They would cancel appointments in the last minute. Finally after speaking to them and some back and forth they said they wouldn't honour the warranty and we would need to pay them again. They told us the "10 Year warranty" was only standard verbiage on their invoices. Even though we had texts confirming the 10 year warranty as well. We found having to pay again to be unfair but no other roofing company wants to deal with someone else's repair. We just wanted to get the job done and agreed to pay them again. The owner, Terry came to our home after chasing them for 2 months and strung us along some more telling us how he's doing us a favour and he's going to fix it soon but needs to find a date. It's now been 4 months since we first called them to come and fix the roof. They have wasted so much of our time and energy. I wish they would have just told us from the start that they had zero intentions of fixing our roof and we would have made other arrangements before the winter season. I would never use them again, they have zero integrity and their word and written contracts are worthless.

  Hello An Otto, We would like to respond to the review that you have posted for our business. During our initial response to your request for follow-up work based on our original repair, you were expecting us to honor a 10 Year Warranty. We offer an industry-standard 10 Year Warranty on new roof installation or re-roofing for 'flat roofs' and '25 Years for sloped roofs. The job we did for you was a 'repair' and we offer a 6-month warranty for the repair work that we performed. Our quote and invoice documentation does reference a 10 Year Warranty which is for a new roof or re-roofing for flat roofs. Prior to our company performing a repair to replace rotting wood, another roofing contractor installed a 2nd flat roof on top of the original roof without following the local building code which created a 'thermal bridge' where the air is trapped due to a lack of ventilation causing the rot which we repaired. This is a pre-existing design flaw. We made every effort to explain the underlying issues and our position that it is unfair that we are expected to be responsible for the improper design and construction. Unfortunately, we were not able to come to a mutual understanding on a path forward and further communication was strained. In closing, we care very much about the satisfaction of our customers.   Do not waste your money with Affordable Quality Roofing in North Vancouver. I hired them to fix a leak on my roof. Paid them promptly and in the first rain after the repair the roof still leaked. Same spot. They didn't do the job right. I tried multiple times over the course of a few months to get them to come back and fix it. I was shuffled around, no one ever called me back, emailed me back. Farrah and Phil just ignored my requests to have it fixed properly. Took my money and never did the job correctly. I finally had to hire another roofing company who came out and fixed it properly. They cringed at the job completed by Affordable and showed me all the things their roofer hadn't completed. I hate leaving small businesses a bad review but this company deserves it.

  they did my roof 7 years ago and now I am having some leaks along a window. Called them several time to have someone come out and have a look but no answer? Have they gone out of business?

  I paid a deposit in August. They still haven't done my job. They won't answer or return my calls. When I canceled and asked for a refund, I was told "you canceled, now you chase for your refund." Highly unprofessional. Very disappointed. I finally for my refund after months of chasing.

  There were several problems with the work done. AFQR demanded (but didn’t get) immediate payment in full. After 3 months of arguing back and forth they finally fixed the deficiencies and we paid them. Do not pay this company until the work is properly completed - we had a hard time getting them to fix the problems even though we were withholding payment. A lot of hassle for what should have been a straightforward job.

  I would give them two stars if they completed the job; I’m still waiting (2 months now) for my flashing to be painted and for the garbage to be removed after I bagged up what was left all over my property - a couple hundred pounds worth of scrap shingles. Phil seems great at what he does, at first. I gave my deposit in January. Only contact we had for the next two months was me reaching out to see when the work would be done. Eventually work began on the roof and half the garbage was thrown to my tenants side of the house, the exact opposite of my request and agreement with the workers on site when they began. I met Phil for final payment when the job was “done”, but we found the shingles weren’t all on, the flashing wasn’t painted, and there was garbage everywhere. He said not to pay him yet. I met him again for the final payment after the missing shingles were installed. He said due to the rain he would have to have a guy come out when it got nicer and do the painting. I gave him the cheque that day in good faith and the only text I have even got back from him since then is “who is this?” Nothing further. DO NOT PAY THEM UNTIL THEY ARE DONE

  FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY. Terry first came to my house a few months back to check out my roof and to give me an estimate. I knew nothing about roofing and I had many questions. I have a house with a cedar roof that needed replacing. We simply couldn't afford a new cedar roof, but was struggling to go for a cedar conversion. Terry stayed for over 2 hours that Saturday morning, explaining my options, the various manufacturers, and their product lines. He explained each of their warranties. By the end of our visit, I went from knowing nothing to be coming very knowledgeable in the roofing world. Terry's estimate was extremely well written and easy to read. It was a straight forward, and extremely detailed . From the shingle manufacturer and model, to the thickness, and type of plywood he was going to use, to the waterproofing, etc etc, it was all written down. THE INSTALLERS They showed up just before 8am and left at just after 8pm. They were hardworking, polite, friendly, & respectful. Each night the crew cleaned the property before they went home. TODAY ....we have a new roof and I couldn't be happier. My neighbours tell me that my roof looks like a brand new cedar roof. I have to say... I totally agree. I'm a picky guy and this is only my 2nd google review ......BUT THIS NEEDS TO BE SAID If you're in the market for a new roof. You owe it to yourself to call TERRY and AFFORDABLE QUALITY ROOFING.

  We were in need of a whole new roof and Terry and his team were fantastic. From the initial assessment by Farah who was so lovely, to the installation by Bal and his brave crew (our roof is quite steep!) everything went so smoothly. Affordable Quality Roofing is professional, knowledgeable and their pricing is competitive. I would absolutely recommend them, our new roof is beautiful!

  Affordable did my roof 11 years ago and I have been very pleased. Recently, I had a minor leak and after speaking with Terry, he quickly understood my concern. The problem was not related to the roof; however, I was extremely pleased with the response I received to solve the issue. Two enthusiastic, pleasant and qualified employees showed up. Problem identified and fixed. Definitely recommend this company.

  We could not be happier with our experience with Terry (the owner) and his team from Affordable Quality Roofing. We had our entire roof replaced, from start to finish everything was handled with professionalism and care. Bal and his crew were hardworking, respectful and did an excellent job. Bal communicated with us every step of the way. Terry was a pleasure to work with and truly cared about making sure everything was done right. The quality of their work was excellent and everything was left clean and tidy when the job was completed. Actually it was left clean every single night before they left while working on our roof. We had an issue after the guys left but it was immediately rectified, on a Saturday no less. We highly recommend Affordable Quality Roofing for reliable top-quality roofing work.

  Thank you to Terry, Bal and the rest of the crew. You gave me everything I asked for in the contract and then some. I was impressed by Bal’s leadership and commitment to doing a good job. I honestly didn’t expect them to complete the roof in two days. Working hard and long hours and all the tiles are straight the ridge caps are nice and even and all the ice shields and flashing were dealt with as requested. We chose Affordable over another company because they could park a truck in driveway instead of a bin. I have already recommend Affordable Quality Roofing to another contractor in town and my neighbour talked to Bal and got his number as well. Overall we are very impressed. Thank you

  I had a wonderful experience working with Affordable Quality Roofing on my roof. They have wonderful staff who work quickly and efficiently and they did an excellent job on my roof. The general manager Terry Stone and his foreman Bal are very experienced and knowledgeable. They gave me the best options for my budget and extended my guarantee. Bal sent me daily photos of the work they had done on my roof, which I really appreciated. They also did some extra work for me with no cost. I'm very pleased with their workmanship, cleanliness and quality of work. I definitely recommend them to anyone who wants get their roof redone. They have options for every budget.   I looked at different companies. Affordable quote was pretty much the same as the competition. But the quotation process was so much more straight forward and simple. The work done was exactly as quoted. Some small surprises did not require "out of scope adjustments". The crew was really pleasant. There was one touch up to be done after they were done. Less than an hour after I called 2 guys showed up and did it. Perfect! I will use them again and will be glad to provide phone references. Ask Terry for my number.

  Affordable Roofing repaired our leaking roof quickly at a reasonable price. Previously they had replaced a roof on another house 12 years ago which is still in good shape.
