Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We take all customer concerns seriously and would like the opportunity to investigate this matter thoroughly. At this time, we have been unable to locate a project associated with the name used in this review. We kindly ask that you provide the project address, contract number (if available), and the name under which the contract was signed so we can identify the project and review the circumstances. We would also like to clarify that it is not our company's policy to request additional payment for the original contracted scope of work. If additional costs were discussed during your project, they would have been related to conditions that were concealed and could not have been discovered during the initial roof inspection. In the roofing industry, certain issues—such as deteriorated decking, structural deficiencies, water damage, or code-related deficiencies—often become visible only after the existing roofing materials have been removed. When such concealed conditions are discovered, California law, applicable building codes, and manufacturer installation requirements may require corrective work before the roofing system can be installed properly and legally. In those situations, any additional work is presented as a separate change order and is never intended to alter or increase the price of the original contracted scope of work. Our company is committed to performing every project in compliance with applicable building codes, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards. We never recommend unnecessary work, and any additional recommendations are made solely to ensure the project is completed safely, legally, and in accordance with the approved permit requirements. We sincerely invite you to contact us directly with your project information so we can review the matter objectively, answer your questions, and work toward a fair resolution if you are, in fact, one of our customers. In November of 2025, I hired NewHaus Roofing and construction to do a “full reroof” for $23,200. The day the roof was removed, Greg, the sales rep, came out and told me there was a big problem and he showed me some very deceiving close up photos of problem areas in my roof. He led me to believe that they needed to cover my entire roof with OSB (which should have been included in a “full reroof”) before they could continue which now meant a change order for $17,800, almost doubling the initial price I was quoted! I was beginning to feel pressured, deceived and manipulated and being abused as a senior citizen. But as my roof was now uncovered and they showed what they claimed were large holes with winter coming soon, I agreed to this change order. Later I found out these holes were much smaller than he made them seem and the “poor construction” of the original roof were areas left open to vent the attic. They also claimed to not use subcontractors when in fact they do. The CEO actually told me this in a phone call. Throughout this entire process the communication between me and the salesman, and the communication between the salesman and the subcontractors was HORRIBLE! He rarely answered my calls and I was never able to leave a message because his box was full. He told me multiple times he would be over and never showed up or even took a few seconds to let me know he wouldn’t be coming by after all. I canceled my own plans lots of times to wait for him to show up. I also never knew from day to day when anyone would be at my house working. I also asked multiple times to see an invoice for material prices and labor for the change order and what I finally received was the poorest excuse for an invoice that I’d ever seen and this was coming from the CEO. In the beginning I agreed to the higher price of the 2 options they gave me because I believed I was getting the 50 year “duration cool premium” shingles when in fact, I got the 30 year “duration cool” shingles- thi

Mr. Huynh. You didn't pay for any roof services that we have provided. We brought the entire amount and bonus from your insurance company. After demolition, we found a hazarous situation also based on city inspector's report and clearly explained you that re-decking and partially re-framing is required. You rejected to go proper way, and trying to blame us with spreading false information. Your case has already been denied by CSLB. And yes you did bridge the contract, and we have all paperwork with your signatures, you have them too. We also notified to your insurance company that you were trying to do a fraud, and that report went to a system that all insurance companies use.

Terrible experience. I contacted this company for a minor roof repair and was immediately hit with aggressive upselling. From the first call, they pushed a full roof replacement based solely on the age of my home (28 years)—not the actual issue. The salesperson, clearly sizing me up, used high-pressure tactics to get me to sign a contract the same day. I was told my $8,000 repair wouldn’t be warrantied unless I upgraded to a full replacement—an ultimatum that felt manipulative and alarmist. Feeling trapped, I agreed just to stop the pressure. The work itself was worse than the sales tactics. The crew reused old tiles, used the wrong nails (which now stick through my decking), and clearly lacked basic carpentry skills. The job dragged on for days with long breaks, poor communication, and zero accountability. What should’ve been a simple repair turned into a mess. When I raised concerns, I was met with dismissive, dishonest responses. As a senior, I feel completely taken advantage of. I’m now paying another contractor to fix the fascia and rafter tails—issues this company was supposed to address in the first place. Avoid this company at all costs. I was misled, overcharged, and left with substandard work. Maybe they treat wealthy Bay Area clients better—but if you’re not one, expect pressure, poor quality, and no integrity. It’s laughable that they now offer to come back and “fix” the problems, likely by sending the same crew that did the lousy job in the first place. The whole experience was a mess, starting with the salesperson who used carnival hypnotism tactics to pressure me into signing a contract for roof repair I did not need. The work itself was subpar, done by clearly unskilled labor. This is not a reputable company, and I would strongly advise others to stay away.

We just signed a contract with Newhaus Roofing to replace our old wood shake roof, and the entire experience has been outstanding. Since converting a wood shake roof requires a full new plywood deck, we needed a team that is technically proficient. Our Project Manager, Boris, was extremely professional and thorough. He provided a clear proposal that includes a 50-year registered warranty on Owens Corning Cool Shingles, giving us great peace of mind. He also planned for a seamless gutter system with upgraded stainless steel micro-mesh guards to handle the heavy debris from our large Camphor tree. A special thanks to Jason, the trainee, who was incredibly helpful. He took the time to explain the complex structural requirements and the plywood installation process to us in Chinese, which helped us understand the project much better. We are very impressed with their transparency and technical expertise. We look forward to the installation starting next week. If you are looking for a reliable roofing company in San Jose, I highly recommend Boris, Jason, and the Newhaus team!
