  As a returning customer, this experience was extremely disappointing. We were repeatedly told that the installation schedule was not confirmed, with no follow-up communication for an extended period of time. Then, without any prior notice or confirmation, a crew unexpectedly showed up at our home to begin gutter installation right away. This lack of communication is unacceptable. Scheduling work on a customer’s property without advance notice shows poor coordination and a disregard for basic customer courtesy. As homeowners, we need to plan ahead and be informed before anyone arrives to perform work. Given that this is not our first time working with this company, the experience was particularly frustrating. Clear and timely communication should be the bare minimum. Unfortunately, that standard was not met here.

  I can't and don't recommend Los Gatos Roofing to anyone. They installed a new roof on my house in October of last year and there were more issues than I thought there should be. I had two sun tunnel skylights I wanted to reuse. All they had to do was unscrew and remove the cap before removing the old roof. They didn't. They just scraped the entire outside parts off with the old shingles, yanking on the tunnels so hard that it damaged the ceilings in both bathrooms and made the interior skylight parts fall which chipped toilet bowls and seats. To their credit, and only after I complained, they paid for new skylights and installed the roof parts, leaving me to repair the ceilings and finish the interior install. LGR cut an unnecessary extra hole in the roof for a bathroom vent I didn't have. I had to go up in my attic to cut the hose off the vent so I could install it myself where it was supposed to be. They went around the house with magnets picking up nails and screws but still managed to leave seven nails on my driveway. Seven! I'm glad I found them before my tires did. LGR nailed through a Romex cable that admittedly shouldn't have been where it was, but it was visible from outside and the previous roofers avoided it. Nailing through the cable created a circuit that electrified the roof channels all the way to the other side of the house and started popping a breaker when they installed a drip channel. They were very little help figuring out the problem. I had to fix that myself too. One of those drip channels looked like reused garbage. It was all wrinkled. The salesman was surprised it looked so bad, and they replaced it after I pointed it out. Before the install, I informed my salesman that I previously had to fix a leak myself where the roof meets my sunroom and asked they use a larger flashing in that area. They did, but it leaks again in the same place. It leaked the first rain after the roof was put on last year, and leaked during the first rain this

  They told me they will come to my house to fox a leak. Called me and said we will be there sharp at 10. I was at home and nobody came. Got a message from the person saying he will be late. Waited whole day and called 20times but nobody came. Worst experience ever

  Uses TRICK to get business( bad practice!!!). They will bump up the quote after you finalize them. I was provided the bid with some items which was never installed on my roof. The bummer was the quote was bumped by $1300 when it was installation time. Then there was a dry rot repair cost added in invoice. There was no quote for dry rot and it was billed without prior written approval of the dry rot repair cost. I asked the project manager about it and as per him this is company policy. This is the worst policy if your are writing something on quote it should be honored. I strongly feel extra $2000 payment over the base quote is not justified. Los Gatos Roofing should provide me refund of that.

  Long delay, poor punctuality. I had a loose tile and a broken one I needed fixed. I also wanted the roof checked after termite tenting to see if any other tiles needed fixing. All of this while I was preparing to sell my house. They gave me a date a month out and then missed it. I have to make the 1.5 hour round trip again tomorrow for the repeat appointment and they likely will have to come again to actually fix the two tiles. With the time pressure of escrow I'm now in I've given up the thought of having them do a general roof inspection. I've used them before a few times, but probably not again.

  If you're considering a new roof, reach out to Los Gatos Roofing!! They're AMAZING! I met w/ 4 roofing companies (3 were referred by friends). During the research process, the Los Gatos office staff was flexible and patient, and not pushy. They answered many questions and then sent their Project Manager, Bret, to check out our existing roof. Bret was THE BEST! Super knowledgable, provided great explanations/examples of different options that would fit w/in our budget, and again, was extremely patient w/ my questions. 2 DAYS! That's how long it took to take off my old roof and replace it w/ a brand new shingle roof! We had a new roof and gutter system installed and there were many color options for both. At the beginning of the process, they covered the pool to limit the amount of dust/debris that would fall into it and provided instructions about how to protect items in the house/garage. My neighbors were impressed at how quickly Bret's team worked. They were efficient, not excessively noisy (no loud radios), and respectful of the hours they worked. At the end of Day 2, the Los Gatos team cleaned up the yard, swept the area around the house, and (I think) even swept inside my garage - it looked cleaner than when they began. Follow-up included a walk around w/ Bret. He showed me pics of the roof and also scheduled the inspection (he handled all the paperwork too)! Between the research process w/ the Office Staff (Lisa in particular) and the actual work/post-work communication (Bret), Los Gatos made the whole process transparent and simple. A roof is a major investment, but I had confidence in Los Gatos b/c of how up front they were about costs and how quickly they responded to my questions as I was comparing quotes. I'm extremely happy w/ the process and outcome. And I'll update the review after the next rainy season if there are leaks.
