  Hi neighbors, I wanted to share my recent experience with MD Roofing, who recently replaced my roof. It came to my attention that they were unaware of a critical code change that went into effect on January 1, 2022. This code mandates that all homes in the coastal wind zone (which includes virtually all of Horry County) must have two layers of underlayment installed before the shingles. Despite notifying their salesman of this requirement prior to the installation, they failed to comply. When I brought this to their attention, I was met with resistance and they were unwilling to rectify the situation. Ultimately, I had to file complaints with the South Carolina Labor Board and the roofing material manufacturer, GAF. Both organizations contacted MD Roofing and compelled them to tear off my entire roof and reinstall it with the proper two layers of underlayment. My concern is that anyone else who had their roof replaced by MD Roofing between January 1, 2022, and November 2024 may have received an installation that does not meet the current building code. Given their initial lack of awareness and reluctance to correct the issue, it’s possible other roofs were installed incorrectly. I strongly encourage anyone who has had roofing work done by MD Roofing during this timeframe to contact them and request confirmation that their roof was installed with the required two layers of underlayment. This is crucial for the long-term integrity and safety of our homes, especially in our coastal environment. I hope this information along with code details below is helpful and that we can all ensure our homes are properly protected.   These guys are a true disappointment. My roof had damage to it and missing shingles from a storm and they approached me and encouraged me to file a claim with my insurance company which was denied. They rep from MD Roofing said he would help me appeal it but never heard back from him and never got a response to my calls. Brazen Roofing got the entire project approved on appeal and I have a new roof.

  Dont know how to read signs telling them to staff of my property. Won't ever use them even when I do indeed need a new roof I'm not abusing anything. I've asked you guys several times to leave me alone and I've told yall several times not to come back yet you continue to. If you would take no for an answer then I never would have left a review

I was originally going to reach out to you and apologize, before realizing we have not even performed any services for you. Then I did some research and read so many of the reviews you have left for other local businesses and I came to the conclusion that you wouldn’t be happy even if I installed your roof for free. Google Review is supposed to be a media platform to tell others about your experiences, you’re mad that we stopped by your house to even offer services. Please stop abusing this platform and tarnishing local businesses without just cause.

  Outstanding ... My neighbor Thad with MDF roofing stopped by as he noticed a loose shingle on my roof. He actually went up on my roof and repaired two loose shingles as he war concerned for me with a storm brewing. This was extremely courteous of him. He also did an inspection on my 5-yr. old roof and said it was good for now. I will 100% give MDF roofing a call when it comes to replacing my roof and give them a chance to replace my roof if need be. He did not try and sell me a new roof, but I will contact MDF roofing for any future needs. If their other employees are as efficient and courteous as Thad why would I not.   My mom had a wonderful experience with MD Roofing, and I can't say enough good things about her project manager, JP Dean. From the very beginning, JP was professional, courteous, and incredibly easy to work with. He handled everything from communicating with the insurance company to coordinating inspections, even meeting the inspectors when my mom wasn't able to be there. During the project, my dad was in the hospital, so mom wasn't always available. JP kept her informed every step of the way, worked around her schedule, and made what could have been a stressful process so much easier. He was always friendly, responsive, and willing to answer any questions she had. One thing that really stood out was his attention to detail. He made sure the cleanup was thorough, including checking that all the roofing nails were picked up so her grandkids could safely play outside when they visited. I truly appreciated the care and professionalism JP showed my mom throughout the entire process. If you're looking for a roofing company that genuinely cares about its customers, I highly recommend MD Roofing. JP Dean went above and beyond, and my mom couldn't be happier with the service she received.

  Wonderful experience with MD Roofing! The crew was in and out! Removing the old, and replacing with new. Our place was cleaner than when they arrived. All crew was polite, clean, and I never saw anyone not “doing a job” as part of this process. This is second roof they’ve done for our family - and it’s evident why we chose them again.
