Zero stars. We hired this company to do some basic siding repair work. The results were disastrous. They hit our water line with a nail, effectively flooding our kitchen ceiling. The kicker is that they refused to take responsibility! The owner, Josh, said it was our fault. Yes, our fault. He said we should have informed them of the location of the water line. Not only did they not pay for the damages, but they refused to even file an insurance claim. I had to file a claim on my own insurance policy, and our family had to spend two weeks out of our home while the water mitigation and repairs took place. On top of all this, the actual work they did was pathetic. I had to hire another firm to redo their work. They installed the new siding unevenly, they didn't caulk or seal the boards they installed, and they didn't replace the boarders they removed. Lastly, they left dozens of nails and even a fully charged electric handsaw behind in my back yard. I'm very fortunate that my 1 year old didn't find the handsaw and cut his finger off. Don't hire this company! They use lazy workers who cut corners, and they don't appreciate their clientele. RESPONSE TO OWNER'S REPLY: You didn’t elect to walk away from the job without payment. We put a stop payment on the check we gave you after the leak was discovered and after you refused to take responsibility. Secondly, I understand how you WANT your business to be portrayed, but the reality is that the crew you sent to my home did careless, low quality work. I didn’t make my story up out of thin air, and that handsaw sure isn’t mine. Lastly, there are indeed cost-effective methods you could’ve used to locate our water line, your crew just didn’t do it. The point of my post isn’t to disparage but to document. I documented our experience exactly as it happened, including your assertion that it was our responsibility to tell you where our water line was.

Hi Ryan, thanks for the detailed review. To break this down, let's start by stating that the water line hit during the repair of some siding at your home, was hidden behind finished surfaces, and was completely unknown to us. There was no way we could have known that a water line was against the sheathing under your siding. This was not an act of negligence or poor workmanship, and we used everyday practices and proper fasteners to make the repair in accordance to current standards. When you notified us about the water, we rearranged our schedule and we were there the next morning to investigate. We pulled everything apart, identified the issue, consulted with your plumber that the pipe was incorrectly placed in the wall, and we would have never of known it was there, and then, we put the wall together. We did all of this at no cost to you. Not only did we come back, we stood tall and identified what was happening, and communicated to you. A lazy, inexperienced, negligent team would not do all of this, I can assure you. At no point do we ever blame you for this happening. In fact, we were doing all we could to help you in this matter. Even after I explained how there was no way in the world we would have known, and this wasn't our liability, you still pushed. In an effort to diffuse, we elected to walk away from the job without payment, though we did not have to. You even verbally agreed to this arrangement. Hidden defects and code violations are not our responsibility. It was our mistake to not put this in writing. For the painting/caulking, in our experience, painting contractors choose to use their own brand of choice when it comes to paint prep, hence we don't caulk either. In your contract, it says that we will not paint, but it doesn't specifically mention caulk. That wasn't plainly spelled out, so we apologize for any confusion here. To my knowledge, we are not missing an oscillating tool, but I will be sure to check with my team just in case. We sincerely ap

Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention Ms. Bordley. Per our conversation earlier, I have communicated with your Project Manager, Dylan, to make sure he contacted you immediately to rectify this situation. I spoke to Dylan personally to make sure he sent you your estimate to your email. If you do not see it in your inbox, please contact me immediately. I apologize it has taken so long for us to get you the estimate you have been asking us for. Though it has not been your experience thus far, this is not the way Roof Crafters does business. I chose RoofCrafters because of the high Google rating. I paid more than $18,000 for the re-roofing in mid-July, 2020. I later found a new water stain on the ceiling. I notified them of the roof leakage in September 9. While waiting, I …

We called about 7 roofing companies to look into our flat roof that was leaking I to our kitchen. Many never showed or weren't the right kind of roofer for job. We actually got one estimate that was higher than our budget. We needed to get a second quote. So I called Roof Crafters and spoke with Michael Warren about the frustrations of companies dismissing us because our project was small. He was reassuring that someone would be out. His guy came out we talked, he answered my questions, took measurements and made me feel like I was really progressing towards getting my roof fixed. Then ....nothing. Estimate deadline came and went. The guy wanted to speak about his write up but had car trouble and would email the estimate. No email quote, ( I looked everywhere in gmail in case I missed them), I reached out to the guy and to Michael still no estimate. Just adding them to the long list of Louisiana companies who can't be bothered with customer service for small projects. I really thought they would be different.

They agreed to replace my roof and replaced 3/8 inch boards with 1/2 inch plywood. They didn’t even nail it down. They left holes all across the roof. Covered up area where turbines are so the attic couldn’t ventilate properly. The shingles never stayed down. They installed metal pieces of scrap all over the roof. They were asked to make it right at-least 20 times and never did. Someone could of been seriously injured or killed because of the condition they left the roof in. Over 3000.00 in duct work repair is needed now as well as over 30000.00 in sheet rock repair. Oh - and a new roof installed property - since they didn’t do so. They come out and lie to you and blame everyone else for their failure to complete a simple roof install. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone!!! Their accreditation should be taken away. The most unprofessional company I have ever met. They will lie, cheat, and steal from you.

Thank you for your feedback. It needs to be said that the contract we had for this job was with a member of your family, and not with you. Though we recommended to overlay the plank decking roof with plywood, we were told no. When we asked to install a higher grade architectural shingle, we were told no. We installed the roof that we were legally, and contractually, obligated to install. Though we warned the homeowner, not you, of the potential problems down the road, we were yet again asked to install a 3-tab shingle on a plank deck roof. Now, 8 years later, we are fighting the issues we warned you about. Our standard warranty is 5 years. We went above and beyond to consistently try to help you with the roof you INHERITED. Legally, we did not have to do that since the warranty was not transferred. Given the fact that our original customer, not you, had passed away, we agreed to help. You have re-payed that help with attempts to degrade the integrity of this company, and we will not stand for it. We do absolutely everything possible to make sure all of our homeowners are happy, and have a leak free roof for many years to come. Nowhere in your “review” do you mention that we have answered every phone, call, text, and email promptly, and have serviced every warranty call you have asked us for with the upmost care and haste. No company is perfect, and we are no exception. We answer when others don’t. We go when others won’t. But what a company does right is rarely praised, is it?

We thought we might have had some leaks in our roof so we contacted Josh at Louisiana Roof Crafters. They responded in a timely manner inspected both our roof and gutters and found that every thing was in order with no leaks found. However he did let us know that in a couple of years we would need to look at replacing our roof. I appreciate his honesty because I feel a lot of roofing company's would have just sold us a new roof right then even though we didn't need it. I can also tell you in a couple of years when we do go to replace our roof and gutters we will call Louisiana Roof Crafters first. Thanks for being so honest with us.

LA Roof Crafters is an A+ company. They were reliable, honest and communicated every aspects of the roof replacement. They checked in throughout the entire process, and the project manager went over and answered every questioned we had as they were doing the job. The cleanup was flawless, they left everything exactly as they found it, and better in some ways. Would highly recommend this company and in fact already have done just that. Thank you LA Roof Crafters for a such smooth perfect experience.
