The price for the new roof was great, but they didn’t fix the issue we originally asked about. Our sunroom roof connects to the side of our house and would leak during heavy rain. I got multiple quotes, and it was tough finding anyone …

Hi Brandon, We have attempted to call you so that we can resolve this issue for you. We are sorry that you felt that your issue wasn't resolved. We take pride in our work and our service to our customers. We were hired to install a new roof install and upon completion we noticed that the siding on this wall was water damaged and needed to be addressed. We did provide the estimate to have the siding replaced/repaired in this area. We would love to re-connect with you to see if we can find a resolution.

HOMEOWNERS BE AWARE!!! We had a small leak in the roof that was coming through the ceiling in my son’s bedroom. When Lanes came out to do the quote, I noticed there was no ladders on a roofing company truck to come inspect a roof with a leak. They walk around the outside of my house and determine that I need my whole roof replaced. Then inspect my son’s bedroom and tells us that he will section that piece out, re plaster it and paint the entire ceiling so that it is uniform. They came to do the roof first on a Wednesday. Everything went ok the day of the install. Two days later on Friday I went into the attic to put something away and immediately saw a rafter snapped in half, hammer head hole through the plywood, and multiple big chunks of plywood knocked off from using oversized nails to secure the ridge vent(mind you i had zero damage to any plywood or rafters prior to the roof install). I called Lanes immediately and was pretty upset, i told them they needed to come out right away to see the damage there crew caused to my house. The owner of course tried going down the road of “how do we know we did that” but shut that down immediately because that is just ridiculous. He sent his foreman to inspect the damage. They refused to replace the damaged parts because they didn’t want to remove the roof they just put on and didn’t want to lose money on the job. The owner offered an extended LABOR warranty, what good is that for damaged parts? I had them deduct the extended warranty cost off my bill to compensate me for the damage. So they come out 2 weeks after the roof is done to do the interior repair and sister the rafter. When the interior guys came in to do the repair in the bedroom all they did was plastered the area that was damaged, dried it with heat guns, painted over the area he plastered and that was it. I was told the interior guys were going to sandwich the rafter with two 2x4, what I received was one 2x4 on one side. I was very upset that I was charged $155

It's unfortunate when a well established and highly rated small business has to have their name slung through the mud by one customer. It's easy to go to social media and give a one sided story, because a client wants free work. It's frustrating for us because not only did we do a great job and covered every base during this roof replacement to make sure his home was protected and safe, like we do with every roof replacement. The client even told us how happy he was and how great of a job we did, not to mention we gave him a significant discount. First, we do have ladders in our trucks, it just so happens that, Ricky - who was out there that day - has a ladder that folds down and fits in the bed of his truck. At the time of our initial appointment, the customer was leaving his home and forgot about the appointment so Ricky asked if he could get on the roof and inspect everything and would have an estimate for the client once he returned. Which is what Ricky did, so Mr Michael wasn't present from Ricky's inspection on the roof. Secondly, the homeowner claimed all we did was try to sell a roof replacement instead of repair the leak in which he called about. However, 2 things that the homeowner did not disclose is that Ricky told the client he wouldn't recommend just a repair because the issue is going to happen again because there is a "waving" in the rafters which is causing the main issue. There was, in fact, damage to the structure before we arrived to give the estimate. We emailed Mr Michael to let him know there were "waves" in his roof on the exact side he claimed we damaged. We offered to remove the ridge vent and fix it because it was causing problems, but after we looked at it more Mr Michael agreed that is would not cause any more issue to his home. We did in fact give him a discount off the roof. However, it was evident the client knew about the damage before we started work because Mr Michael made us aware that the insurance company already came out

Called and was told they don't do siding repair in Raleigh; more siding installation, even though their ad says repair.

I reached out to the company months after worked was completed about something that wasn’t done properly & never heard back from anyone. There were a lot of big nails left in my yard, so clean up wasn’t done professionally.

I scheduled an appointment, no show and they did not even call to say they could not make it or anything.

We appreciate you reaching out, Dwan. We've searched through all of our appointment records and contacts for those who have reached out to us about scheduling an appointment, but we haven't been able to find anything indicating that an appointment was made or that we received an inquiry from you. I first contacted Lane's Contracting in 2021 when I needed a new roof for my home. I had never heard of them prior and I don't remember where I first was introduced. I first hired them to installed a brand new roof on my home which was masterfully done. Since then, they have put a new roof on my garage and my 2 sheds. Most recently they have installed new vinyl siding on my home, rebuilt my back deck, installed new gutters, painted my outside structures, and replaced 6 windows on my garage. They are now installing a water sealant on the back porch and re-building part of my front porch including a fresh paint job. I always used them because the people that they contract with are extremely efficient, conscientious and every one of them have been perfectionist. They provided great customer service, keeping me informed. Between Sarah and Toni they always took my calls and made sure I was aware of what was coming next; whether that was the status of materials or when my work would be started and completed. If you want quality work now and in the future, you should always consider Lane's Contracting first. You will get quality work at a reasonable price! When contacting Lane's Contracting, they will immediately come out and provide a written quote for the work that you want done. If you want the work done correctly the first time, contact Lane's Contracting.
