  JT Burke & Sons came to our home in Marlborough to provide a quote for new siding and roofing. Unfortunately, I was at work during the appointment, so my wife met with Shaun and relayed the details to me afterward. During the visit, Shaun presented what he described as a “special” 15% discount program, but stated that my wife had to sign the contract before he left the house in order to receive the pricing. Even with the discount, the quote came in nearly $10,000 higher than any other estimate we received. My wife declined to sign on the spot, as we were not comfortable committing to a major project at 5 PM without anything provided in writing. She instead requested a standard written quote. It has now been two weeks, and we still have not received any written estimate or follow-up from the company. Based on this experience, it feels as if my wife was taken advantage of and we are very glad we chose not to move forward with JT Burke & Sons.

  Quote was very informal with a claim of a discount that was only good for basically that moment as we are "in your town doing work in the next 2 weeks." While this claim seemed a bit convenient it is plausible. However, they refused to give us 24 hours and/or the rest of the day to mull over the discounted quote which seems highly unreasonable. We were advised that the undiscounted price was 20% additional. The people I talked to were polite and it sounds like they know what they are doing with regards to building but the quoting process was very disappointing. It read to me like they really weren't interested in my smaller job and/or at least not at a reasonable price. Perhaps they are better for larger work but based on this experience I would give pause before calling them again.

  J. T. Burke & Sons built a new deck for my house. While the level of craftsminship is high, I believe that the quality of materials is low for the price we paid. I am not confident that the deck will last a long time given how the wood appears to be wearing after a short period. We got an opinion from an independent contractor about this matter, and he agreed with our assessment.

  We couldn’t be happier with our new siding, windows, and doors! From start to finish, the entire experience was outstanding. Communication was constant throughout the project. We were always able to reach someone with questions that came up. The installation team lead by Orlando was professional, hardworking, and their attention to detail really shows in the finished product. The craftsmanship is amazing, and our home has been completely transformed. We’re especially in love with our beautiful new custom sliding doors! They are even better than we thought they could be.   We had a great experience with JT Burke for our siding project. They also installed new gutters with gutter guards, added roof vent caps for our previously installed bathroom exhaust fans, and replaced roofing on three bay windows. All of the Burke brothers were incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. We met with Sean for our initial quote, and just three weeks later they were starting the work. Their quote was very competitive and fair compared to the other companies we received estimates from. They also offered financing options, which was a nice benefit to have available. John was our project manager, and he was very easy to reach with any questions we had. Communication was excellent, and he always responded promptly. The crew was kind, hardworking, and very attentive to detail. They did a beautiful job and made sure to clean up nicely at the end of each workday. After the project was completed, we did find a number of nails around the property. We brought this to Patrick’s attention, and he promptly addressed it with the crew. We appreciated how responsive they were to our feedback. The finished product looks beautiful, and we are extremely pleased with the quality of the work. We are even considering working with JT Burke again for a future project. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for high-quality work, excellent communication, and a team that truly cares about their customers.

  In our day and age it is rare to find a business that takes customer service to heart. J.T. Burke and sons is focused on their customers. They are a family business and it shows from the moment that they sit down with you to go over your quote to the process of completing the project, they are there for you. They keep their promises and ensure that their clients are happy. I say client but you feel more like family. It is an easy going relationship when you work with Shawn and John and the rest of the company. They completed the roof on our cape in one day with a large crew. The people that work for them are some of the best around, they are dedicated and hard working. The crew worked so well together and they supported each other to get the job done. Some of the things that set them apart are the use of a self sealing ice and water shield that they put on the whole roof, not just the edges. and a larger drip edge over the minimum one that most companies use. The self sealing ice and water shield is important because when you have so many nails going through it you want those holes to seal around the nails. I could go on and on about the quality of the work that his company does. John came first thing in the morning of the job to do a walk around with us and check that they had every item correct. Then he did another one when the man in charge came, to fill him in on everything. The work went smoothly and efficiently. The day after John came back to check on the job and make sure that we were happy. It is unusual to have such a large project completed and not have anything bad to say about it. I am blown away by the whole process. I would recommend J.T. Burke to anyone looking for a solid company that treats you right, does quality work, and truly cares.
