  Very dishonest company. Negotiated a cash price contract with me and then tried to get additional money from me after the job was completed. I am an attorney and the contract was crystal clear so they ultimately dropped it and accepted payment of the price we negotiated per our written contract. The job itself was a complete disaster. The roofers pierced through an ac refrigerant line, and I had to hire an a/c guy to repair the line at their cost. After the line was repaired, the roofers continued working and the same day, they nailed right through my wooden covered patio leaving hundreds of protruding nails. I was fortunately home and walked out to check on things and noticed it. I stopped the roofers and called the supervisor to advise what had happened. He told the entire roofing crew to tarp up the roof and leave, which they did. A different crew showed up the next day and they had to pull up a whole section of shingles and they had to use shorter nails to prevent the same issue. This left hundreds of little holes and cracks in my wooden patio cover when they finished. The supervisor - Joe - said they had hired “painters” to repair the damage and he apologized. The next day, the supposed painters turned out to be a young woman and her 14 year old daughter. They only brought one ladder so grabbed a ladder that was mine that was in the side alley without even asking. I then caught both of them on my Ring camera walking all over the granite countertops to my outdoor kitchen and splashing paint all over the bbq covers and floors, which they were using a rag to try to clean up. I ran home from work (I work a few blocks away) to ask them to clean up and to warn them that the counters are not meant to be walked on and could break, leading to damage to my property and injuries to them. They claimed that they had only been sent with one drop cloth and one ladder and had no plastic to cover my outdoor kitchen (which is under my patio cover). They asked me

  Hudco's customer service is horrible, as soon as you as for an itemized estimate. A representative came out and inspected my roof for a minor repair - the boot on a vent pipe needed to be sealed to the shingles and some of the flashing also needed some sealant. He verbally told me that this was not a difficult fix and they could get me on the books within the next week or so. He provided a cost only estimate in an email the next day. As I had made a insurance claim to fix this and the damage the leak caused, I requested an itemized estimate. It took 3 weeks and multiple emails to get the itemized estimate. Then it took another 3 weeks to get the work done - I understand that there is a wait list for jobs to be completed, I don't have an issue with that. My issue with the time frame are that they would not even give me an estimate of when I could except the workers to come to my house so I could make arrangements to be off of work, and that when the workers finally showed up, I was given all of 30 minutes notice and was told I "did not need to be there." Finally, when I checked the repair, they had not sealed the boot to the shingles at all. The main issued needing to be fixed was not taken care of, but they sent an invoice for the full amount of the estimate. I was able to get the repair completed through other means. I provided pictures of the non-work and requested that my invoice be reduced. It took 2 months to get the revised invoice. Don't use Hudco and if you do, make sure you watch everything they do so they do the actual work needed and don't charge you for work that was not completed.
