We found Donnie of Home Star Roofing based on his 5 star rating. Donnie and Kurtis are two of the nicest and honest guys we met. No pressure. Simply kind. They had excellent knowledge and care to help us along with confidence they could and would help. We needed a repair to our year old roof because the original installer a year ago was refusing to acknowledge and make the repair. We had four shingles on our roof that were mismatching in color. Once Donnie and Kurtis could view up close identified these shingles as having delamination (no granules) with contributing mfg color change/run mismatch. These shingles were darker than the rest of our roof. Donnie was kind enough to understand and care even though they did not provide us the original roof, he was willing to help us and correct the defects left by someone else. Fortunately for our situation we had four extra bundles of shingles to find color matching shingles as replacements. Donnie did the work and did an excellent job on our repair. Shingles now match. !We are very happy! Home Star cares about workmanship and wanting it done right. Thank you !

In June 2025, a devastating storm ripped through our beautiful city and caused untold amounts of damage. We lost a tremendous amount of trees in the area and homes everywhere sustained incredible damage. Our home was one of those. We had siding ripped off and wrapped around our neighbor’s trees like garland. Interior water damage. Significant roof damage. We’re still recovering. Thank goodness for Donnie and HomeStar. The minute Donnie showed up, I could breathe for the first time since the storm and I knew that everything was going to be okay. With a skilled eye for quality and detail, he walked us through the entire process from start to finish. We could not have done it without him. They will be the first we go to with any questions or if we have needs in the future. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

Home Star is extremely professional and a great organization! We had numerous properties worked on by them from the Bemidji storm in June, and they expedited the work needed to be done and in a timely manner! We are very appreciative of their services!

We had a job to do on a major time crunch. I called Home Star Roofing and they were out in like an hour, on my roof, completing the job, on a WEEKEND. If that isn't quick service, I don't know what is. They did a phenomenal job, exactly what was needed. Recommend!!!

The team was there when they said they would be. Good to work done quickly. Just be sure to put away lawn ornaments before they start the job.

Homestar MN was amazing and top notch classy service from start to finish. I spoke with Donnie initially who owns the company and came out and actually climbed on my roof himself to inspect. There was enough damage to warrant a claim which they walked me through in first class style (holding my hand along the way). They met with my adjustor and made thr whole process smooth and quick. Our roof is larger and we wanted to make sure the job was done right. Their crew was extremely clean, had the cleanest, nicest tools I have ever seen grom a roofing crew, all the updated techology, and extremely clean and respectful. Below are some pictures they actually took of my roof with a drone before, during and after. How amazing is that? And what a clean symmetric job they did! The best part of their service in my opinion was an additional custom gutter they added for me above my garage to correct a previous rainwater drainage issue that was prematurely wearing down my old shingles. I felt like this was a level that they did not need to got to bu they did! The company owners came out and measured and designed a custom gutter for this situation, and very inexpensive also! I havr had 4 roofs throughout the years on previous houses, and Donnie and HomeStar roofing and siding MN were by FAR the best! They made thr whole process very clear, understandable and easy. Additionally they simply did the best work! Thank you Donnie and HomestarMN Paul Peterson

Home Star was great. They showed up on time and were very friendly. They were efficient, but didn’t rush through the job. I have confidence in my new roof. The best part was they cleaned up after themselves and made sure I was pleased before they left. Highly recommend!!!
