  Bold North Roofing and Contracting LLC replaced our roof about 3 years ago. The serving for get really hot really fast if the AC isn't running. The attic has somewhat sufficient insulation. I installed a temperature sensor in the attic and outside. It's running 30 to 40F hotter in the attic than ambient indirect sunlight temperature. I removed the soffit covers to find out the old soffit before were still there. They didn't even bother removing the old covers. The baffles they used were the cheapest and weakest didn't you can get. It gets zero ventilation into the roof. The attic gets as hot as 142F. I reviewed the feasibility of replacing the baffles to have proper ventilation, and it'll require removing the whole insulation first, and that's a huge project on its own. Hotter attic means hotter shingles, which means the roof will degrade faster. On the surface it looks ok. But that little area messed up the whole roof. They didn't replace the soffit vents. That was purely cosmetic and it's hurting the house now. And cheaping out of 50cents to get higher quality baffles... That would have been an extra $25 to get slightly better baffles.

  Nicole, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We truly regret that your project became stressful and that our communication did not meet the standard we hold ourselves to. Your feedback is important, and we want to provide clarity on what occurred. First, regarding the insurance process: the adjuster assigned to your file acted in a manner that was inconsistent with Wisconsin regulations. We have documentation showing that this adjuster requested that Bold North carries a Public Adjuster license, which is not required in the state of Wisconsin to submit an estimate or supplemental documentation. This was improper, misleading, and created unnecessary friction in the process—ultimately resulting in the adjuster refusing to communicate with us. We are able to provide these documents upon request. Because of these issues, our internal team was actively working to find a solution and determine the appropriate next steps before reaching back out to you. That does not excuse the delay in communication, but it is important context surrounding why your claim became unusually complicated and difficult to navigate. While the work was completed properly and the project itself was successful, we understand that the communication challenges overshadowed the experience for you. We have since reviewed our internal processes and strengthened our follow-up systems to ensure homeowners are supported through the insurance process even when an adjuster becomes uncooperative or behaves outside of industry norms. Your feedback is helping us improve, and we appreciate the opportunity to address what happened.   Nicole - I am sorry that you had a bad experience. We talked with you in February when there was still snow on the roof and agreed that you would reach out to us in the spring. When you did reach out to us, we followed up with you that same week but you never responded to us. Glad to hear you had your project taken care of.

  First off. I do not know the quality of their work. A young man came to my front door and opened my screen door, then looked into my house at me. This freaked me out! I walked to the door and he proceeded to tell me he was working on my neighbors roof, I stopped him and told him, "don't open people's doors and look into their houses, you scared me!" He said he was just putting a card in my door. (Which is how I got the name of this company) I said, "No." He said, "I just have a question, how old is your roof?" I said no again and shut the door. I called the number on the card and heard a sniff and then a hang up. I called back and another young guy with a pretentious snobby voice asked how he could help me and I asked to speak to a sales manager. He said, "I can take down your number and have one call you back." I said, "what is your job there?" He said, "I take down people's information and have someone call them back." I said, "great company" and hung up. I'm still a bit freaked out.

  Unbelievably easy. Taylor handled everything after I signed a couple papers. He had a color in mind, coordinated with the insurance agent, and followed up to make sure it was a smooth process. And the roof looks great!

  Calvin Benedict came by to give a second opinion on hail damage to the roof and siding. He was professional and quickly did the inspection. Afterwards, he explained the condition of the roof and siding to me. He let me make the decision, but gave me the information and his opinion. He was very honest about my chances of success. That was refreshing to talk with someone so honest and not self-uninterested or pushy. I appreciated his honesty because it was at his detriment. I highly recommend Calvin and Bold North is lucky to have him. Bold North will be at the top of my list for future jobs.

  They did a good job with the removal and replacement of our roof. However they need to work on communication and hiring people that can speak English. I was not able to communicate very well with the crew as they only spoke Spanish. The crew was scheduled for 8am but showed up at 645am and started to work without any notice. Would have been nice for someone to ask if it was OK to get started that early. Otherwise they seam to do a good job. After they were done and cleaned up their stuff they piled the extra things on a pallet that they left in the front yard. They did not say anything to anyone that they were done or what was with the pallet of left over. The next day a guy in one of their company pickups stop and grabbed a box of nails from the pallet but did not say anything to us. It was a day and a half after the job was done, I moved the pallet of stuff to the back of my house not knowing if it was left for me or what was to be done with it. Later that day a semi showed up to get the stuff. They do good work but need to work on communication with the customer. Our son Allen, who works for them and is the reason we went with this company, did a great job with showing the product and getting us setup.

  Great company to work with! After a storm left my roof in pretty rough shape Bold North Roofing and Contracting really took the time to work with me and my insurance and efficiently take care of repairs.
