  I hope your workmanship is better than your driving. 6am this morning one of your 4dr pickups was doing 35 down Central in Colonie. Had some phone calls to make. Once on I-90 the dude was pedal to the metal. I was doing 75 and he hit the nitrous. Then he cuts everyone off from the left to get on 787 south. Damnit driver…

  They came out and gave me a quote. When I called to set an appointment to have the roof installed, the price went up $2800.00 Santiago gave me a bunch of lame reasons why. I could understand 4 or 5 hundred dollars the price going up but going up $2800 is ridiculous. He seems to be running a bait and switch scheme. Santiago, yes you did a $500 increase on the original price but you also said plus $90.00 a sheet for plywood. The plywood was included in the original price. Which brings the cost up to $2800 increase. The shingles I want are not discontinued, they are available. Brandon called me and asked me to take the review done because you didn’t have the experience to use the shingles I want. You should have just said no in the first place. Santiago, you did not reach out to me. I was the one always contacting Brandon. He called me once . Like I said the shingles are not discontinued. A search on the internet shows a number of suppliers in the area of the shingles I requested. Yes I made a mistake in my math but I corrected it. They plywood was included in the original cost, and in the second estimate it was not. Increasing the price by $2800.00 . You knew from the beginning what I wanted and you agreed to it, then you went back on your word. Not a good businessman.

  12/21/2024 Hi Chris, you originally contacted us to do the front half of your roof in October. We have a 30 day price guarantee and had to raise our price $500 because it’s December 21st and 19 Degrees outside, the materials are more expensive and because you asked us to use a discontinued shingle (Owen’s Corning Supreme). We offered to do the half of your roof for a $500 increase or the entire roof with a Certainteed 30 year warranty for an additional $2500, which we thought was extremely generous. There isn’t anything lame about our crews safety or material inflation. We told you in October when we originally quoted you that it was good for 30 days and we communicated with you twice since then. I’m not sure if we could be anymore transparent with you throughout the entire process. I sincerely apologize for your perception of us as that is not a reflection of our company’s high standard of doing business. If there is anything else we can do for you, please reach out to me directly (518) 817-1787 -Santiago 12/22/2024 (in regards to edited review) Chris , I do apologize that we were not able to come to an agreement on a deal.  Brandon asked you to take down the review because you exaggerated the price increase by 200%. That was prior to you editing your review. My sales person Brandon was clear to you that there would be a price increase. The quote we gave you was almost 90 days ago. If we did have a signed agreement / contract we would have honored that price even though our quotes are only good for 30 days. We really pride ourselves on customer service and transparency. I reached out to you multiple times as did my sales person. A $1500-2000 price increase for discontinued shingles after 90 days is not out of the ordinary. The price of all materials and labor has gone up since the fall. As I have said before please feel free to text, call or email me anytime.   Contacted this company over 4 weeks ago to receive a quote for roof repair or replacement; spoke with someone directly who was actually more interested in knowing if I wanted to sell my house for cash. Needless to say they never showed up or called me back. Apparently business is that good.

  Herman Exterior recently completed an extensive top to bottom exterior refresh of our 1840 home. Given the age and details of the house, we needed to find a contractor we felt comfortable with and who we trusted with our goal of maintaining as much of the historical charm while adding modern protections with durable products. Gary and Santiago spent a lot of time answering my questions and walking the house (more than once!) to make me feel at ease before diving into this massive project. The results speak for themselves. Our home is absolutely beautiful. Joe and team took painstaking care in handling all the historical trim. The LP Smartside installation was seamless and blends incredibly with our original trim work (pictured attached). As with any project of this size and scope, things happen. Everything was handled with a customer-first approach that exceeds expectations. We ended this job with deep gratitude for the talent, diligence, and meticulous precision that went into every stage of this project. We will enjoy the results for years to come.

  Herman Exterior Homes did a wonderful job siding our home in Niskayuna with Everlast siding! Everlast siding is a unique product, and you really need to get people who are knowledgeable and familiar working with it. Santiago, Chuck and crew definitely knew what they were doing with Everlast. They were efficient while at the same time attentive to details. Would hire again in a heartbeat!

  What a first class operation of energetic professional young people! Every contact was timely, professional and competent. Crew was on time, so professional and attendant to every detail right to searching for the last bits of debris w a flashlight in the garden in the dark!!   Their team was amazing and super helpful, got exactly what I wanted super detail oriented. Did it in a timely manner, The crew was respectful and personal. They even cleaned incredibly after the job was finished. Very knowledgeable people. Special Thanks to Christian who over saw the whole project, when I inquired about siding he responded in 2 minutes sharp, came in a timely manner and explained everything in great detail, keep in constant contact and answered all my questions and personally came to over see the whole project, very greatful for this company.

  Christian and his crews were great to work with. Vinyl siding was installed by a hardworking crew in 3 days on some of the coldest days in January! Gutters were installed in early spring. I am very pleased with the beautiful results and highly recommend Herman Exterior Homes!

  Santiago and his team are amazing! I had siding, windows, doors, gutters and roof all through the house. Santiago made sure everything was done. Even with a few big surprises we uncovered he walked me through options and was more than fair with pricing. Every detail down to the smallest thing was completed. It was a big project and I couldn't imagine working through it with anybody else. Superb customer service and craftsmanship.
