  I wanted to go with Green Ladder since they came referred to us by a friend. My husband even took time off work to be here so we could make a decision on the spot. But, the aggressive sales tactics they use are a real turn off and felt disrespectful, like they think we’re dumb consumers. We got two more bids and theirs was the highest by a few thousand dollars. We signed with another company three days later. That says a lot about us being serious buyers and them losing a customer.

That’s not the experience we want anyone to have, and I understand why you’re upset. Your husband taking time off work so you could make a decision together is a big deal. Please extend our apologies to him as well. We’ve already addressed this with the team member who met with you and are re-coaching and updating how we present estimates so that no one has the same experience. A roof is a major purchase, and you should always feel free to think it over at your own pace. On price, you’re right that we weren’t the lowest bid. We build our proposals around full manufacturer systems, installation standards, and the 25-50 year warranty coverage that comes with being a GAF Master Elite contractor, and that does sometimes make us the higher quote. That should have been explained calmly and clearly, and then left for you to decide the next steps on your own time. We respect your decision to go with another company and truly wish you the best with your new roof.   The communication was subpar. Spotty at best. So much so, I was wondering if we were scammed. I'm not used to running behind companies I'm paying trying to obtain information. Our project was not a large one, and maybe the larger jobs take precedence. But our project was just as important to us. The work seems to be satisfactory, but the overall experience was less than.

  Called just before 2:00 PM to let them know that I was at the property – no one picked up. At 3:30 PM, the answering service person told me that their technician was within the 2-4 PM window, but she would ask the technician to call me with an ETA. At 4:12 PM I called to let them know that no one had shown up. The answering service person stated that she would call the technician again and request that I be called. At 4:30 PM no one had contacted me. If this is the way they manage their business, then they are not the company I will have replace my roofs. Carsten Heering
