Beware of this company. I asked Atom Builders for a storm‑damage roof repair quote because of their Angi's List endorsement, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. …

I would caution against hiring this company. We had our roof replaced in July 2025, and by the first major rainstorm in February 2026, water was coming through our ceiling. This led to visible damage, including ceiling bubbling, from improperly installed flashing around a vent. When we contacted the company, they refused to take responsibility or repair the interior damage. It also took them 24 hours to send someone to cover the opening, which led to further damage from ongoing rainfall. They claimed the issue was caused by an animal without conducting a thorough inspection. Very disappointing, especially so soon after a full roof replacement. I would NOT recommend this company if you expect quality workmanship and accountability.

I have not hired ATOM, but this company was the least professional amongst all the contractors I’ve assessed for my roofing project. It was obvious the estimator was not interested when he was talking to me (not sure why), to an extent he turned his back and walked away while we’re just agreeing on the next step!!!

Extremely unorganized, and unprofessional. The first time I scheduled appointment they insisted to come out in the rain, despite my concern for their safety! Then the rep, Tony came without the drone saying it was damaged and getting …

I’m writing this to help others avoid the serious health and safety issues my family—and several others—faced due to Atom Builders. They were hired to re-roof our 1920s apartment building in Santa Ana. Despite clear weather forecasts days in advance, they left the roof exposed during a storm. The result: extensive flooding, collapsing ceilings, soaked walls, and mold growth throughout the building. Rather than address the situation responsibly, they began demolition work without pulling permits or conducting any required lead or asbestos testing, even though the building clearly contained original materials. When questioned, they repeatedly minimized the risks, told tenants to “open windows,” and claimed mold takes 3–6 months to form—contrary to all public health guidance. They then sent someone claiming to be a mold technician who turned out to be unlicensed and affiliated with the company—a clear conflict of interest. This person used a phone app to “inspect” the unit and promised licensing info he never provided. When the city was contacted, they confirmed no permits had been pulled and ordered Atom Builders to immediately stop all work. Only after this were proper environmental tests done, and those revealed lead paint—something both the landlord and Atom had denied. Our family (including a 1-year-old) was displaced and forced to pay over $5,000 for temporary housing, which we were only reimbursed for after legal pressure. Other residents incurred debt they’re still dealing with. When we returned, we found our apartment still visibly damaged: swollen walls, paint sloppily applied over outlets and furniture, lead dust in crevices, and our personal supplies used without permission. This was not professional remediation—it was patchwork. I’m not writing this out of emotion or frustration. I work in construction as a designer and engineer. I know the codes, the responsibilities, and the risks. This was not an isolated miscommunication or a tenant “being diffi

This was a very complicated and extensive roof replacement. My roof was badly compromised due to age and water damage. 100% of the wood decking and fascia boards had to be replaced. These people handled it like true professionals. Henry was my project manager and took care of everything. They turned an immensely stressful project into a routine replacement. They started on Monday and done on Friday afternoon. The price was very reasonable. It was about $15000 lower. The quality of their work is excellent and their communication is the best i have ever seen. They kept me informed on every step. Arvin handled the city on the final inspection and was very detailed in explaining all the finishing documents including the warranty. I will never ever use any other contractor again. Atom Builders is my contractor for all my future needs. I have found an honest builder and that is very hard to find today.
