  I contacted Gold Country roofing to give me a quote on a new roof. The quote was for Owens Corning shingles with Ventsure ridge venting. They were prompt in coming out and giving me a quote. I have had some other roof projects done in the past and by experience I know that venting the attic space properly is very important. Cool air needs to come in from the soffit vents at bottom and hot air needs to escape from the top ridge vents. So when I had further questions with Ben the estimator on if the roofers were going to calculate the proper venting ratio for net free vent space from the soffit vents to the ridge vents he said no. So needless to say I would stay away from Gold Country roofing unless you don't care about cooling your attic space properly. Go on line to find out proper venting formulas. It's not rocket science. In some cases you have to ask yourself if title 24 makes you spend more $$$ for cool roof shingles why does your proper attic venting become unimportant. Proper venting is the key to a cooler attic with no mold issues.

  You are correct in that attic ventilation is a crucial element of a roof’s performance. However, this is not an accurate account of the conversation and it’s unfortunate that you have concluded our company doesn’t place importance on proper ventilation. As our Estimator explained, we use VentSure ridge venting in conjunction with existing ventilation or, when needed, additional ventilation. We adhere to the attic ventilation requirements as set forth in the building code, along with all other roofing component requirements. As he also mentioned, we are certified members of the Nevada County Building Department’s Platinum Roofing Program, meaning they have recognized us as exhibiting quality workmanship and adhering to local and state code requirements. We would not have achieved or maintained this standing with the Building Department if our work was questionable or did not adhere to building code. I’m sorry that you did not find our reputation with countless clients, vendors and inspectors to serve as any indication of our knowledge or experience, and hope that you are able to find a contractor you feel more comfortable with.

  We had new roofs put on 3 buildings on our property. We wanted to use local family owned roofers. We talked to 3 roofing companies, had it narrowed down to 2 and decided on Gold County mainly because our project manager Ben offered to fix some other, non roof related issues as part of the service. From the beginning to the end, they were on schedule, quick, efficient and communicative. Also, having Shannon back at the office to ask questions or help direct questions was super helpful. I highly recommend them to anyone needed a new roof as we will be dead before needing to do this again!

  We had an excellent experience with Gold Country Roofing. Out of several quote appointments, Gold Country is the only one of two that got back to us. Their quote was fair and they really helped us solve the problem we had. Ben and Shannon's communication was EXCELLENT. They worked with our schedule and their team completed the project on schedule.   We have used Gold Country Roofing twice since moving to Grass Valley. Their work is so professional and the finished roofs are great. They even replaced a broken skylight in my bathroom when they replaced the roof on my ADU. I recommend that company to anyone who might need a new roof.

  Outstanding company and crew. Gold Country Roofing completed the roof on our home plus 3 sheds and they did it in 3 days. The crew arrived on time as promised and began working right away. We had a few additional requests and they were accommodating offering suggestions. I was concerned about our gutter toppers as they were installed a couple of years ago and we have an electric awning cover that is bolted to the roof. The crew removed them and replaced them without an issue. All their work looks fantastic. The property was left in clean condition each day and the office staff was excellent in answering my questions regarding permit requirements. I highly recommend this company. .

  We would give Gold Country Roofing ten stars if we could! Their bid was extremely competitive. They showed up exactly when they said they would and finished our large job in four days, including gutters and the now-required gutter toppers. Every member of the crew was polite, courteous, thorough, and completely professional. Their cleanup was superb. We couldn't be happier.

  Gold Country Roofing, Inc. did a great job replacing my roof. The crew arrived on time both days and got right to work. They were courteous and careful around my property. They cleaned up after themselves and didn't disturb my plants, garden feature, etc. I highly recommend Gold Country Roofing!
