  Highly rated but unwilling to do a repair. Called because my chimney flashing needs some attention but was told unless I did my roof, they wouldn't even look at it. Very disappointing

  Brian Chownyk: You did call our office about repairing your chimney flashing and my Office Manager, who answered your call, pleasantly advised that we don’t repair chimney flashings, only replace them in conjunction with a complete roof replacement. I know this, as I heard her myself and we don’t repair existing chimney flashings (replacement only as part of a new roof). With respect to looking at your chimney flashing, logically there is no point in doing so, given that we don’t offer what you are looking for. As a result, my Office Manager never even mentioned looking at it, so with 100% certainty you were not told that unless you did your roof, we wouldn’t even look at it, as you state. Your wording paints a very different and inaccurate picture of what was actually said. You were simply pleasantly advised what we did and didn’t offer. There are a few reasons that we don’t do chimney flashing work without also replacing the roof, but mainly as we cannot guarantee a repair like this and it can also snowball into more work than meets the eye, which can be very risky when having to work with the old remaining shingles at the base of the chimney flashing (and why it’s not a concern with roof replacement). Sometimes the issue also requires the services of a mason and what seems like a minor repair can then really snowball. Our choice not to repair chimney flashings is based on over 55 years of experience and keeping best roofing practice in mind. It’s important that any work we perform meets our quality standards. Like any business, we have the choice in deciding what we offer. Trying to be everything to everyone isn’t a good business strategy and we wouldn’t be so highly rated, as you mention, if we employed that strategy. There are some companies with our same approach and others that offer what you are looking for, and no disrespect to the latter, as every business can offer whatever services they choose.   The worst contractor I have ever dealt with in my life!. They manipulate words in their contracts to their advantage! If you want to be screwed over give them a call. I canceled the contract after 2 days as it is my right under the Consumer Protection act, "Cooling off Period". They tried to scare me into thinking I needed an additional $4450 worth of work and they illegally charged me a fee for canceling and threatened me with an addition cost if not paid. No work was started as they claim nor where any shingles colours picked. I actually went with a higher priced contractor that is honest and open. I won't be bullied and taken advantage of Ron.

  Refused to even come out and do a quote. Said they were too busy even though I said I could wait until spring for the work but needed the quote in order to submit a request for funding because the process takes several months.

  We had new eavestrough installed on our house by Gauthier, they arrived at 8:30am right on time and were finished by noon when I came home for lunch! It was a huge relief not having to be home for the quote or installation. Extremely prompt and courteous communication from the owner all through email which is always appreciated when working full-time! We will definitely be having them back if we need any other projects done around the house. EDIT 2026: Had Gauthier back to have our roof done. Excellent service again, great and honest communication and accomodations. Next step will be new windows and we will definitely be using them again!

  We had Gauthier roofing and siding by replace our windows and skylight along with shingles on our roof, the crew did amazing work.   When a wind storm damaged our roof, Gauthier Roofing was there to ensure we had no leaks. Knowing that we needed a new roof this year, Gauthier Roofing provided a fair quote and squeezed our roof into their already busy schedule. We are very happy with the results.

  I recently had Gauthier Roofing replace some fascia and repair a cracked sheet of siding, and I'm extremely pleased with the work. What really stood out was the attention to detail. Instead of putting a noticeably different sheet of siding in a visible area, Chris took a matching sheet of siding from the side of the house and used a very similar replacement there. The repair blends in beautifully, and most people would never know any work had been done. The fascia replacement was also done perfectly and looks great. I was also surprised to learn that Chris was part of the crew that installed my roof back in 2014. It's nice to see the same commitment to quality all these years later. Chris was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly cared about doing the job right rather than just doing it quickly. Based on both my experience in 2014 and this recent repair, I would not hesitate to recommend Gauthier Roofing.

  Ron is extremely professional, responsive, and easy to work with. He kept everything well organized, patiently answered all of my questions, and maintained ongoing communication with my property manager to ensure every step of the process went smoothly and as planned. The roof replacement was completed quickly and flawlessly, all at a reasonable price. Ron and his team clearly have a great deal of experience and take pride in the quality of their work.
