  We had 3 different quotes on removing and re-shingling 2 of our homes. Gateway came in with the highest quote before tax but we decided upon Gateway because the reviews were amazing and Jason was very responsive, professional and had the earliest availability. Unfortunately we were not happy with the team of roofers that Jason hired. My husband and I picked up hundreds of nails that were thrown across our deck, lawn and driveway(s). We had to park our cars elsewhere for fear of getting a flat tire. We have a dog and were worried he was going to step on a nail. Cigarette buts and garbage was left for us to clean up. When my husband mentioned the nails and garbage to Jason the roofers did a better job of cleaning up around the 2 properties. One of the roofers stepped through the ceiling of the porch and broke the cross beam and left a hole in it. Jason inspected this and stated he would give us a quote on replacing the wood with fascia and soffit but never got back to us. The plumbing vent was straight before the roofers started and is now crooked, our clothesline was broken as well as a solar light on our deck. Jason did send his project manager out to speak to my husband about these concerns but he stated the porch must have already had a hole in it and the plumbing vent looked straight to him. For almost $20,000 I was expecting better attention to detail. I can't say I wouldn't recommend Gateway Roofing because Jason was responsive and professional but I would be more selective on the crew of roofers.

  Hi Tammy, Thank you for taking the time to write a review, I'd just like to address a few of your concerns here since we never met or spoke to each other. We had 2 labourers who's only job while there was to keep the ground clean and every time I stopped by the job they were running the magnet and there wasn't any debris on the ground. I originally said I would get you an estimate for the porch until I realized it's not possible to put a foot through the porch ceiling without first going through the solid 1" boards on the roof. I brought this up with Brent and he fixed the porch ceiling and said not to worry about it. I also spoke to Brent about the solar light and clothesline and offered to pay for them but he said they were not working anyway and not worry about it. The plumbing pipe was not straight to begin with, after looking in the attic you can see that there are about 6 couplers holding it all together and it's not the shingles stopping it from standing up straight, it's the roof deck which we didn't do anything to. Both roofs turned out to be 2 layers which I had not accounted for and I didn't charge for the extra labour for tear off or disposal of over 100 extra bundles. We also shingled the back porch overhang and installed new chimney flashing for free. After your review I reached out to Brent about these concerns and he said he would talk with you and get back to me but I never heard back so if there is anything we can do please let us know.   If I could give zero stars, I would. We contacted Jason to repair our roof because we were moving and it needed to be done before the deal closed. It took weeks for him to make an appearance at our house, constantly pushing the date back and never contacting us when he was going to show up. When he finally did show up, he said their was no damage to the roof and everything was fine. But you could clearly see that we had shingles missing. We asked him for a professional letter so that we could provide our lawyer and real estate agent with his professional opinion on the roof. He sends us an email with no company letter head, no signature, nothing. When the new owners came to look at the house, they were not pleased that the shingles were still missing. We, then, contacted a professional roofing company who came in a timely manner and repaired our roof just days before closing...thank god! I would avoid using this company, unreliable and they don't seem to know what missing shingles looks like.

  Hi Ashley, at the time your husband, Jason, called it was after the wind storm and your roof was 1 of 200 repairs I had to do, which I do myself. I stopped by your house and called several times and no one was ever home or answered my calls. I finally got a hold of Jason and went up on the roof to take a look. I didn’t see any shingles missing and I apologize if I missed a few tabs that were. It is never my intention to walk away from potential work that I could have charged for. Jason insisted I send him an email stating that I didn’t see anything, not a professional letter with a company letterhead. I was told that it was for the new home owner not real estate agents or lawyers.I apologize for any inconvenience that was caused during an already stressful time.

  We used AI to identify the top-rated roofing contractors (4) servicing our area. Gateway Exteriors was one of the four. Each vendor proposed and Gateway was ultimately selected. We were pleased with the process, the installation and the clean-up. I highly recommend Gateway for anyone considering a roofing project.

  Jason and the entire installation team were excellent. They kept us apprised of all the possible things they may encounter prior to the start of the project and communicated throughout the project timely so there were no surprises. Installation occurred over one of the hottest weeks on record. Understandably, the project took a bit longer than expected because the company correctly prioritized the health and safety of their crew. Regardless, they communicated this delay at the onset of the project. The crew left the site spotless. Most importantly, less than a week after installation was complete, we unexpectedly had a tree fall on our roof. When we informed Jason of our issue, despite it not being their problem, they graciously agreed to come out and inspect the site to ensure their work was not compromised and to give us peace of mind. Definitely recommend them!

  I was impressed with the work done by Gateway. The new roof looks great. All items of the work was done as per the quote, and the workers did a thorough cleanup at the end of the job. The new siding was also very well done. I like the colour and style, but also the attention to detail when fitting all of the difficult areas and trim. Both crews were pleasant, polite and were willing to answers any questions as the work progressed.

  Nothing but good things to say about the Gateway team! Jason & crew were a pleasure to work with from start to finish on my project. I had a leaking fireplace chimney that was expertly removed followed by a roof repair. They matched up the shingles perfectly, you cannot even tell that a repair was performed! Communication was courteous and the work was done professionally in a timely manner. The icing on the cake was the cost was more than fair. In a world of fly-by-night contractors, it's comforting to know that companies who value quality and integrity do exist. Look no further internet, choose Gateway!!

  A great job done overall. I called for a small leak and they came when they said they would to take a look and repair. They were honest and straightforward with what needed to be done right away and what could wait. Not the first time using them and won’t be the last. Would and have recommended them for other repairs for my neighbours
