We apologize that the process felt disorganized in that sense.  Our roofers are experienced with shakes, and the damages that were present to the shakes during our hail evaluation did not appear to be hail related. During the valley repairs, we replaced the compromised shakes with new ones. We were able to reuse the undamaged shakes that were not rotten or compromised in any way.  We do apologize for the missed damage and disorganization during the repair of your soft metals. We are taking the necessary steps to ensure our crews meet the standard of excellence that we aim to uphold and are no longer working with those that do not. We are sorry for the inconvenience and delays caused, and we are glad this has since been resolved. Should you request, we would be happy to have someone return to do a more thorough clean up, as this is important for your safety and peace of mind.  We would like to assure you that if there is any warranty work required or improvements we can make to redeem the process for you, we are more than happy to address these things.   I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Fortress Roofing in Calgary. The entire project was marked by poor communication, unexpected surprises, and a general lack of professionalism. From the beginning, I requested at least 24 hours’ notice before anyone arrived on-site. Instead, I repeatedly received 30-minute warnings or no notice at all. For example, I was told the crew was coming to install a door only half an hour before they arrived. This made it impossible to prepare properly. There were also multiple mistakes and surprises during the repair: They delivered the wrong type of shingles. Thankfully, I noticed before installation, but this mistake caused additional delays. After installation, I had to clean nails from the driveway and backyard myself. Two days later a cleaner came, smoking as she walked around the property. Completely unprofessional. The roof trim was left hanging and unfinished, and I had to ask them to come back and redo it. Communication practically disappeared after early September. No updates, no follow-up, no accountability. To this day, I still have no proper project closure, no commissioning documents, and my warranty has not started, because the company has not done the final walk-through I requested. I am simply exhausted from dealing with such negligent and disorganized management. Overall, Fortress Roofing has shown poor responsibility, unreliable scheduling, and weak customer service. I cannot recommend this company, and I am still waiting for them to complete the project properly.

  From the beginning to the end we have been frustrated by delays, massive gaps in communication, damage by their workers on our siding, and a lack of accountability. They have also been quick to ask for payment when damage has not been addressed or repaired. Most of the siding and roofing job looks good in quality but the things above have not been easy to deal with and have not been appreciated. We are still waiting for resolution of damage to close the job and file after engaging them in 2024. Update November 2025: I have just closed with Fortress and my final assessment is that while the work done is mostly ok, dealing with them is like pulling teeth. Their delays to reply are horrible and their accountability is not very good. I would recommend looking elsewhere to fulfill your jobs.

  Have been waiting for almost a year for them to get started. They took our deductible payment and now they just leave us on read. Sick of chasing them. They gave us wrong information about what products we could order which caused so much stress and delayed things even further. Asked to have a manager look into our service and nothing happened. Avoid. Wish we went with someone else before we paid our deductible. I email and get no response. I call and get delayed. It’s insane that no work has started and they can’t even confirm our supplies have been ordered at this point.

  Everyone we have dealt with at Fortress has been amazing! The process and been seamless, and all communication has been very clear and fast to get any answers! Becca does a great job of getting back to you right away with any questions you may have! (Even when you have a lot like me!) When we had to phone in to pay our invoice Theressa was super helpful and so kind. As soon as we wanted to start the process Sean was out there right away to get measurements and answer any questions we had in preparation of our quote! We actually delayed the process as we were waiting on a neighbour, and everyone at Fortress was very understanding through the whole thing and extended our quotes for us to accommodate! The guys that came out to do the work, Joe and Lazaro, were very fast and efficient (even our neighbors commented on how quickly this was all completed!) which isn’t an easy task with the high temps we have had! They were very professional and considerate and left the yard in the same condition as when they arrived! I have heard horror stories and material being left around, but other than our brand new roof you wouldn’t have been able to tell they were even there! I would definitely recommend Fortress, and would use them again in the future!

  Fortress Roofing was involved for my hail-damaged roof repairs. their work was prompt, efficient and hassle-free. I was updated regualrly about progress. i cannot comment on the cost as this was an insurance-coverage job. but otherwise, as the homeowner , i am very satisfied.

  Let us be honest, my history with contractors is a tragedy in three acts. When last year's hailstorm hit, I approached the insurance "Preferred Provider" list with a turkey's optimism in November: bracing for no-shows, excuses, and workmanship that insults the eye. Fortress answered with a quiet miracle on time, working with the silence of craftsmen who need no applause, restoring screens and glass, and with them, my exhausted faith in tradesmanship. Their crew turned my bitter contractor grievances into shared laughter. Gus brought calm to the aftermath; Derek coaxed me, inch by reluctant inch, from Scrooge like cynicism toward trust. Then months later, season's greetings proof that integrity still walks among us. Today (April 24, 2026) amid Calgary's ferocious spring storms tearing at my home, Fortress held a breakwater against the flood. Within hours, a rope thrown to a drowning man; boots on my porch. Their tradesman courteous, not a word wasted, secured the flapping panels before I left for a medical appointment. I came home to find them holding fast: quiet proof that someone had cared, and had not left until the job was done. You are the husband of the heart, showing up wrench in hand, mud on boots, when the gale strips everything bare. No sweet talk. Only actions that grip the soul. When the world conspires to leave us exposed, you remain solid as sworn word, steady as foundation stone. For better or worse. Fortress, five stars, carved in deepest gratitude.

  Fortress Roofing did an excellent job with all our repairs after the last major hailstorm. Everyone was pleasant to deal with, met their deadlines, cleaned their work areas and always followed up after a segment of the job was completed. I would definitely recommend them.

  I had a wonderful experience with this Fortress Roofing. They came when they said they will. When the job was done, somebody came and inspected it with us and made sure our place is clean and it is done properly. And I am more at peace when warranty is 10 years. I will for sure recommend this company.
