  We stand behind our work and our communication, and we do not accept blame for misunderstandings caused by the customer’s lack of engagement. Communication is important. That’s why: a) We sent a detailed written quote for the work (patching and relocating one downspout on the lower back deck) which was accepted; b) we emailed in advance to notify that the crew would be attending; c) the crew rang the doorbell twice upon arrival (you were home and did not answer). After the work was completed, you called to advised us that your husband had expected a replacement of the entire eavestrough over the lower back deck. The quote you approved was very clear, and that expectation did not come from us. The miscommunication occurred on your end — not ours. Regarding the dog: when you pointed out the spray paint on the grass, the crew immediately apologized and did their best to wash it off, and your dog was unharmed. The situation was acknowledged and resolved at the time of the visit. You later made your dog the central issue in your additional follow-up call, despite no harm occurring, which is why it was unclear what resolution you were seeking. We do not offer discounts or compensation for issues that were already resolved on-site and did not result in any damage. We completed the work as quoted and authorized.

  Horrible communicators. Bad client relations. Would recommend hiring another company. We hired Akron to install simple vents in our roof. They let us know multiple times they were coming to do it, only to not show up. This was disruptive. Then they showed up one pm without notifying us to drill holes in our roofs while our daughter was napping. This was also disruptive. Then we didn't heard anything from them for about a month. A month or so later, we received a first and angry email warning us that they were going "submit the account to Collections if payment is not received" within a week. Upon replying that this was our first notice and that we of course would pay, but also explaining our numerous communication issues, they simply acknowledged and basically refused to apologize.

  So these guys might be ok for roof repairs but I would never recommend them for a skylight installation. They installed mine last summer and it leaked immediately. I called Rod the owner and they came out 3 times to repair it but it continued to leak. He stated my house had too much humidity but I bought a tester and it showed only 26% humidity. It continues to leak to this day. I called the manufacturer No Leak skylights and they stated that this was definitely installed incorrectly. I found Rod very unprofessional in his response with me and I will now go to a company that knows how to install these properly. My neighbour had his installed at the same time and he’s had no issues with his. I will be contacting that company in future to get my skylight replaced again. I would never recommend these guys for anything based on my terrible experience.

  Had Rod the owner come out and do an assessment of the damage to my roof, he barely even looked at it and talked more about his personal life. He said he was going to the truck to grab a ladder to go on the roof and inspect it. But he ended up just getting in his truck and leaving with no explanation. I called him a few days later to see about the quote and he said he would have it for me in a couple of days but there was no further response. Would never use these people if this is how they are just trying to get an estimate. Unprofessional and a waste of my time.

  Avoid using them. A bunch of amateurs, performed a low quality job. Hired them to replace my fascia, end up denting my soffits along the fascia replaced. Showed them the picture before the job, an extremely rude bald guy said the picture was photoshopped. Whatever.

  The homeowner made claims of something that is impossible to happen during a fascia repair, which we explained. The underside of the soffit was not and could not be affected as in this circumstance we worked on the fascia from the top of the roof. We met the homeowner to discuss his issues and he was shockingly rude and grossly inconsistent in his claims, ignoring obvious damage across all the soffits, including dents around his deck where we did no work and came nowhere close to. Our ladders were in no way close to anywhere where he claimed his damage. When pressed for evidence, he emailed clearly manipulated images. When confronted about his obvious manipulation and devious garbage, he paid in full. We had previously stated we had no expectations and told him that if he didn't want to pay, he didn't have to. Shame on this man and his lies. We have gone above and beyond with numerous customers over many years and can supply hundreds of 5-Star, positive testimonials. This is the sad whining of a failed extortionist. As to baldness, his hairline is as thin as his story! (Glass houses, sir!) To businesses and contractors in Calgary, we give Lei Meng 0/5 stars and urge avoidance.

  Akron Roofing was the contractor I trusted with my roof replacement. I chose them because of their higher quality roofing products and attention to better workmanship to exceed baseline industry practices.   My experience with Akron this Spring was excellent. I was having issues with my insurance claim and Rod did his own inspection as he is certified. I was able to get a bit more coverage due to his help. All staff were professional, great communicators and efficient. The work was done on time and on budget. Rod and crew made my insurance issues much more tolerable. Although it was an extremely busy time due to the hail storm in 2024, once the estimate was agreed to, the rest of the steps went smoothly. Thanks for a good experience in a bad situation!
