  I spoke with your husband Andrew a few weeks and told him we’d be happy to come out and inspect the roof. This time of the year is common for ice damming and rarely has anything to do with the roof. I told him if isn’t roof related, there would be a service fee. He declined. Please let me know if you’d like us to still inspect your roof. Sorry for your inconvenience.

  Staff are unprofessional, lack of expertise, do not stand behind their work, and rarely return calls. We exerienced less than satisfactory work on multiple occasions. We are now stuck with the problems. Doubt we will see these jobs in your ads. Glad to share photos. Your response is not truthful. There was no second storm. Your salesman said the flat roof was in excellent condition. It appears as with another faulty 5 Star gutter job, your staff created the problem which resulted in extensive damage. While your Texas crew was not qualified to fix it, we could have been prepared if your staff would have addressed appropriately.

However, we kindly do want to say for all those reading this review that we did complete all of the jobs according to what was agreed upon in the contract. What Susan is referring to is a different roof from a different storm in which we had nothing to do with.

  Just not a great experience. First responsive on the first call and had someone to come out and take measurements within 24 hours. Original appointment was set for 2 weeks out. They missed that. Then they said they would be out the next day. Never showed. When they finally showed up, I was told they couldn't do the job because they didn't have access to a metal brake. As a "roofing" company. Would not recommend.

  We are a large roofing company that doesn’t have time for small repair jobs. None of our 16 roofing crews carry breaks to bend metal. No need. I apologize if you were lead on we would take on a small repair job bending metal for you. Hopefully someday we can find a handyman to do smaller jobs like yours. I hope you have better luck with your repair.

  Very poor customer service. I was promised a $250 referral bonus for someone I referred if I signed a contract for a $20K roofing and gutter job. Due to Five Star losing the referral card which was in the possession of Five Star when I signed the contract. I also have text messages (which I saved) from Five Star stating I would get the referral bonus, and both the salesperson and the person I referred can also vouch for the referral. However, which I totally don’t understand they don’t stand behind their word, still refuse to pay. When I paid the final portion of the job after the job was completed, they said my final bill is reduced by 250 for the referral. However, when they charged my credit card they incorrectly overcharged by $250. Very rude, unresponsive, and unprofessional. Wow here's the response from the owner "Response from the owner 3 months ago Unfortunately for you there is a simple process we follow for referral bonus's and you nor the salesperson did not follow. As we explained to you several times over the past year. Every referral that follows our simple steps gets paid. Again you did not follow that process, sorry for the inconvenience." So basically I didn't get the referral because your employee(salesperson) did not follow the process. Definitely something wrong with this picture.

  Again two years later, nothing has changed. There is a simple process we follow for referral bonus's and you nor the salesperson did not follow. The steps 1, 2 and 3 are written on the referral card to make it as clear as possible on how to receive the referral bonus. As we explained to you several times over the past year. Every referral that follows our simple steps gets paid. Again you did not follow that process, sorry for the inconvenience.

  Worse experience ever...? We did your roof, you were very happy with it. After your roof was completed you wanted us to do your windows. Unfortunately our window installer quit installing windows due to the Covid pandemic. We have never committed to doing your windows, nor would we ever after the 200 harassing phone calls and emails.

  Edited after reading Five Star's reply below: I explained to DJ that I was not allowed by the city to send in the estimate myself, the contractor had to do it, and I don't think he'd be able to come up with the line-item bid on the spot. In addition, he also bad-mouthed the excellent company I chose to replace my roof this year. An apology isn't worth much when they then defend their actions in a public reply. I requested someone from Five Star to come to give me an estimate to replace the vinyl siding on my 900 sq. ft. home, which hardly even has siding in the back because of a screened in porch. "DJ" arrived and first thought he was estimating for the roof. I corrected him. I explained I was funding this project through a housing rehab loan from the city, which requires contractors to fill out a short form, include the estimate, and send to the city as a sealed bid. His reaction was "Well, that means they choose the cheapest, and we won't be the cheapest." He estimated it would cost $13k to replace the siding on my tiny house. I asked if he would still do the estimate anyway, just to have it--one never knows--and he said "well I can do it now" and started filling out the form. I said "No, you have to fill it out and include the estimate and then YOU send it to the city. That's what they require." He then indignantly said "I'M not paying for postage to send this to the city when I know we're not getting the job!" Obviously I sent him out the door and called the company. Complete waste of time, unprofessional, and frankly shocking that a dollar for POSTAGE was an issue. Don't waste your time with this company.

  Hello Susan, We are sorry to hear about your experience. When DJ came out to meet with you he explained that we will most likely not get the bid because our estimate was higher than theirs. DJ then offered to fill it out for you as a favor and all you had to do was mail in the packet. We apologize for any inconvenience you felt having to mail in a packet we did not need to offer to fill out. Mikayla also spoke with you immediately after and apologized. Best of luck on your siding.   This was our second time having significant hail damage to our roof. We were so pleased 9 years ago with Five Star, it was a no brainer to go back to them. Quality materials, and more importantly, they do most of the legwork working with our insurance company. Highly, highly recommended!

  Joseph’s LLC did an excellent job on repairing my wood siding. They were saved me money on materials and by doing so came in a bit under their estimate. Very professional and good at communicating what they would be doing. I will be asking them to help me with future repairs!

  I needed a reroof after hail damage. Five Star was easy to work with on schedules. All the work was completed in one day. Only four stars, though, because they didn't install the correct product. I wanted a Class IV shingle but received a Class III. They credited the difference in cost to me, but my insurance costs went up and have cost me more than the difference in price. They were prompt to communicate the mistake, and did offer to re-do the roof, but I decided that was both a hassle and unnecessarily wasteful. Overall a decent experience, but not perfect.
