This operation out of Shirley, NY quoted an estimate of $4600 for a roof repair because "there was quite a bit of work to be done." They assured me this was fair price. A day later two men replaced what turned out to be a 10 X 6 sq ft area of cedar shingles on my roof. They completed this work in 4 hours. Later when I asked the estimator whether he had over-estimated the extent of work needed and whether a partial refund was due he responded with “that was the price we agreed to.” I get that and I do not reneg on agreements but this was an estimate and an estimate is not a perfect science. Whenever someone has estimated a job for me then discovered their estimate was low, I have always made up the difference. I expect the same if a contractor vastly over estimates the work needed. Bottom line their supplies costs about $200 and I doubt he paid his men more than $40-50 per hour. His total variable costs not including overhead were about $600 to do this project. The $4000 profit generated in a 4 hour job seemed excessive especially since the job did not require any special tooling or equipment —only a ladder and some nails. I was surprised by this company’s refusal to make an adjustment. That is not how most of my trust worthy contractors have behaved. This is the only reason I would not employ this company again. After I posted this review The owner posted that he would be looking into this. However this was just PR lip service. Eight weeks later I have not heard a word from the owner. This is just plain bad business behavior.

Update - on Saturday, 8/29 at about 10AM, there was a knock on my door. I thought it was an unsolicited individual trying to sell me something. I open the door and it’s Mani, I said what are you doing here, you show up at my house without calling me first. He started speaking in an aggressive agitated tone. At that point I said get off my property, I’m calling the police. The police showed up and told him that I have every right to write a bad review if I don’t like the estimate. Police told him he needs to move on at which time he drove off in his Done Right company truck. You can judge for yourself if you want to do business with this unprofessional company that comes to your house with intimidation tactics. I received a estimate from Mani recently which he stated was a zero percent Finance. To be sure I asked him twice. Initially he said he wouldnt be able to give me the quote until the following morning. Several minutes later he knocked on my door again and said he would be able to give me the quote in a few minutes. When he gave me the quote it was more than $3000 above two other very reputable contractors who also quoted me 60 month financing. I encourage the owners to contact me as this individual is a loose canon who will destroy the 5 star reputation of Done Right.

Avoid Done Right Roofing ........Over priced, did very sloppy work which still didn't fix the problem. Upon calling them back to fix the job that they originally did they wanted to charge me $8,000 to redo the roof and how he described what they would do it seemed like he didn't really know what he was doing...... It seemed as if all they do is try to con the customer price gouge and then just cover up and problems giving the illusion that it is fixed without fixing the root of the problem

The actual work they did was good but they left metal shards, metal clippings, and tons of nails laying all over my backyard. That's a problem, I have little kids and two dogs! Then they took all of the stuff they replaced and just threw it …

BE AWARE OF THIS GUY! I have asked them to call me regarding finishing the roof they started for us before the storm about 5 times now!!!! The secretaries tell me he's busy on other calls and he will get back to me by the end of the day. My ceiling leaked terribly around my chimney and I really need someone to respond. I have left emails and phone calls to and no response from the guy who is "supposed" to come back. They were eager to come estimate and start the job, take my money, and now this headache? I am tired of my continued patience and hope to hear from someone soon. Spare yourself. If the owner gets this, CALL ME BACK PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise, I will have it fixed by someone else and you can pay for it.

I had a small section of valley flashing lift up during a microburst, letting water seep into our guest room closet. Done Right sent a repair tech out the next morning who didn't try to turn a simple repair into a full-roof sales pitch. He secured the flashing, sealed the seam properly, and replaced the surrounding compromised shingles in under two hours

We needed our garage and main house re-roofed simultaneously, but our driveway has a steep incline that makes dropping heavy dumpsters tricky. Done Right took the extra time to lay down plywood buffers under the dumpster wheels so our stamped concrete driveway wouldn't get gouged or cracked

We have a steep-pitch roof with two chimneys and four skylights, so finding a crew comfortable with complex flashing work was our biggest priority. Done Right didn't just re-caulk the old metal—they stripped the area back to the bare wood, custom-bent new aluminum flashing on-site, and layered heavy ice-and-water shield beneath it all

I manage a small commercial building and needed a contractor to handle a persistent gravel-and-tar roof leak that was dripping near our main electrical panel. Done Right came out, diagnosed the compromised seam right away, and applied a durable commercial patch that held up through some brutal downpours

The curb appeal difference is unbelievable. We went with a slate-grey architectural shingle, and the installation quality is razor-sharp—straight lines, perfect ridge caps, and clean drip edges all around. The crew leader even took the extra step to paint our exposed vent pipes so they matched the new shingle color

As a landlord managing four multi-family units, I need contractors who communicate clearly without me having to micro-manage on-site. Done Right handled a full tear-off and replacement on a two-story duplex. They texted me time-stamped photo updates at every stage—tear-off, new underlayment, drip edge installation, and final shingling

I run a small daycare out of my home, so having a roofing crew around during operating hours was a huge safety and noise concern. Done Right worked with my schedule completely. They delivered materials after-hours, set up strict safety barriers around the play area, scheduled the loudest tear-off work during our scheduled outing time, and left the driveway spotless every single afternoon
