  I really could not tell you the quality of the work. I was left in the dark for 3.5 months with no communication what so ever on when the job would be performed, after I accepted the quote. 6 phone calls, along with 3 emails, with no response. Very unorganised and unprofessional. I wouldn't trust them with my $$$

  Case Number 15SL-SC00816 of St. Louis Circuit Court Division 34 is a small claim law suit brought by Chang S Lee against Dawson Roofing on August 5 2015. The plaintiff tried to claim the compensation of catastrophic damage on porch roof deck due to water leakage. The causes of water leakage are faulty water leakage diagnosis, faulty step flashing installation and faulty plywood installation performed by defendant. The small claim judgment was delivered on April 11 2016. This judgment favors plaintiff on plaintiff's petition in the sum of $750.00. It also favors plaintiff on plaintiff's court cost in the amount of $45.00. Plaintiff have been unable to collect these compensations of $795.00 from defendant and would like to bring defendant's uncompromising behavior to Better Business Bureau's attention. Chang S Lee also have a unhappy experience with Dawson Roofing and would like to post the following complaints on Better Business Bureau. 1: Faulty Water Leakage Diagnosis Dawson Roofing's roof job carries 15 years workmanship guarantee. The intent and the ability to stand behind his guarantee is more important than the length of the guarantee. It took five months, three visits for Dawson Roofing to identify the source of the water leakage. By the time the source of water leakage was found, the roof deck have experienced a catastrophic damage already. I considered Dawson Roofing's water leakage diagnosis is faulty. The intent and the ability for Dawson Roofing to stand behind his guarantee is in doubt. 2: Faulty Step Flashing Installation Dawson Roofing have been in business for 38 years. But the crew they hired seems to be unsupervised unprofessional amateur. According the roof inspection report issued by Quality Home Inspection, more than half of newly installed step flashing on my house are installed incorrectly. They are not aligned to the shingles as dictated by shingle manufacturer. This miss-alignment significantly reduced the sealing ability between roof

  Customer hired Dawson Roofing to install a new roof on 11/3/14. Upon Dawson Roofing's initial review, it was apparent there was a very old leak in the roof and/or wall above the interior porch, and that the roof itself had been personally repaired by the current or previous owner. Nonetheless, Dawson Roofing installed a brand-new roof with experienced roofers and the finished work presented a neat, first class, workmanlike job. At Customer's request, Dawson Roofing inspected the porch roof on three different occasions. No problems were found. Dawson Roofing offered to redo the part of the roof Customer had an issue with, at no charge, in order to make a good-faith effort to resolve any issues. Upon doing so, Customer demanded that Dawson Roofing sign a statement stating the company had improperly installed the step flashing and plywood. Upon refusal to sign such a statement, Customer filed a small claims lawsuit in St. Louis County in the amount of $2,000.00. On 9/17/15 the Court issued a judgment in favor of Dawson Roofing. Customer then filed an appeal, in which the Court awarded the sum of $750.00 to Customer. No bases was provided for the Court's calculation of the $750.00. Despite the above situation, Dawson Roofing continues to strive to provide excellent customer service and work product.

  Another good job by Dawson Roofing. Dave Dawson installed a roof on my house 2-24-1992. Good job! I called him for a bid on the same house April 2026 Good competitive bid. Great work. Great crew. Obviously he has been in business a long time. I am very pleased with the outcome. I was very glad to find he was still in business 32 years later.

  Dawson Roofing did an outstanding job on our roof replacement, including full decking replacement. From start to finish, they were incredibly communicative and made the entire process feel easy. They gave us plenty of grace while we shopped around, never pressured us, and provided every bit of information we asked for—and then some. Once we moved forward, the work was completed quickly, professionally, and with great attention to detail. Our roof has truly never looked this good. The pricing was absolutely reasonable for the scope of the project, and the quality speaks for itself. They were a pleasure to work with, and we would highly recommend Dawson Roofing to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsive, and skilled roofing company.

  Dave had inspected my roof and verified hail damage. He offered to come out and meet with the insurance adjuster on a Saturday. Had a new roof on the house within 30 days or less. Very easy to work with and quality work.

  I am very happy with my new roof installed by Dawson Roofing. The owner Dave is very professional and worked with my insurance company. The two very nice gentleman that installed my roof have been roofers since 1984! The experience shows! Great job guys!

  We had a couple of bad experiences with small business contractors and were hesitant on going with another for our roof. Right from the start, however, Dave made us comfortable with the process. He answered all of our questions timely and respectfully. After informing him of the decision he then brought samples of a few colors we were deciding between to aide in our selection. Work started within a week of our decision and was completed in one day with no concerns on our part. The roof looks great and we’ve had no issues with a couple of hard rains. We definitely recommend Dawson Roofing.
